Dell announced a $999 starting price for its XPS Googlebook, but the Dell US store displayed the 16GB/512GB model at $999.99 on October 7, 2026. The listed 32GB/512GB configuration was $1,599.99—$600 more for the configuration as a whole. That gap is substantial, but it is not proof of a standalone $600 memory-upgrade fee.
How much does the 32GB Dell XPS Googlebook cost?
Dell’s US store showed three configurations for model DX13267 when checked on October 7, 2026. These are listed prices, which can change; the store selector does not establish that memory alone accounts for the full difference between configurations.

| Memory | Storage | Displayed US price | Difference from the listed 16GB/512GB model |
|---|---|---|---|
| 16GB LPDDR5X | 512GB SSD | $999.99 | — |
| 32GB | 512GB SSD | $1,599.99 | $600 |
| 32GB | 1TB SSD | $1,799.99 | $800 |
The 32GB/1TB option costs $200 more than the 32GB/512GB listing, so the top tier changes storage as well as price. Dell’s September 21 announcement described the starting price as $999; its live store’s 16GB/512GB listing was $999.99. See Dell’s US product listing and Dell’s product overview.
What do you get for $999?
The base listing combines Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite X1E-80-100 processor and Adreno graphics with 16GB LPDDR5X memory and a 512GB SSD. Its 13.4-inch touchscreen has 2560 × 1600 resolution, an IPS LCD panel, variable 30–120Hz refresh, and a listed peak brightness of 500 nits. Other listed hardware includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, a 52Wh battery, and two USB-C ports.

Dell positions the machine as a premium 13-inch laptop running Googlebook OS, with Gemini features and Android phone continuity. Its machined aluminum chassis and touchscreen are part of that pitch. Google’s US specifications independently identify the starting 16GB/512GB configuration, Snapdragon chip, IPS LCD display, refresh range, and 52Wh battery; they also list 65W USB-C charging. See Google Store’s XPS Googlebook specifications.
Is the 32GB configuration worth the $600 difference?
There is no universal answer, and the available specifications do not show independent workload testing that would establish who needs 32GB. The useful question is whether your own work regularly pushes a 16GB laptop beyond its comfortable capacity—not whether a larger memory number is automatically better.

When 16GB is the more defensible choice
- You mainly browse, stream, write, use office or school apps, and keep a moderate number of tasks open.
- You would rather put the $600 difference toward another need than pay for extra headroom you may not use.
- The 16GB/512GB configuration meets your storage needs; the listed 32GB/512GB price does not add SSD capacity.
When considering 32GB may make sense
- Your workload routinely involves many demanding apps at once, large projects, or other memory-intensive tasks.
- You expect to keep the laptop for years and have a specific reason to value additional memory headroom.
- You have checked that the apps and operating system you depend on are supported in Googlebook OS, rather than assuming a higher memory configuration makes the laptop suitable for any PC workflow.
Those are decision criteria, not a performance promise: the listed prices alone cannot show how much faster 32GB will feel for a particular person. For the 1TB model, the extra $200 buys a higher-capacity SSD alongside 32GB memory; consider that option only if the added storage itself is useful to you.
Will it work with your Android phone?
Dell says Android phone sync requires setup and works with supported devices running Android 17 or later. That requirement matters: the advertised continuity features should not be taken to mean that every Android phone supports them. Dell describes the laptop as intended for Google and Android users, but check your phone’s eligibility before choosing it for cross-device features. Dell’s XPS Googlebook overview provides the stated compatibility qualification.

How should you read the battery-life claims?
Dell advertises up to 16 hours of Netflix streaming on a charge. The company says this came from an August 2026 lab test of a Snapdragon X Elite system with a 2.5K LCD, 16GB memory, and 512GB SSD, run at 150 nits with wireless enabled and specified battery settings. It is a manufacturer result under those conditions, not a guarantee of typical runtime.
Google Store lists battery life of up to 18 hours, but the captured specification text does not provide test conditions. Because the methodologies are not established as comparable, the two figures should not be treated as a head-to-head result or a reliable prediction of your use. Check Dell’s September 21, 2026 announcement and Google Store’s specifications for their respective claims.
