Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThere is no verified head-to-head test here, so there is no honest basis for claiming one laptop “won” in measured performance or battery life. The specifications do show clear trade-offs: Dell lists a lighter XPS 13 with a larger, higher-refresh touchscreen and more memory and storage options; Apple’s MacBook Neo has a 13-inch display, 8 GB of unified memory, and two USB-C ports with different speeds. Your software needs, desired configuration, and current local price matter more than a blanket winner.
What this comparison can—and cannot—tell you
This is a comparison of manufacturer specifications and claims, not results from a controlled test. The available information includes no matched performance benchmarks or shared battery protocol. Processor names alone do not establish which laptop is faster, and the battery estimates below cannot be treated as directly comparable measurements.

Dell’s comparison page positions its XPS 13 against the Neo, but its winner language is promotional. The specifications are useful for narrowing a choice; they do not settle subjective questions such as which screen looks better or how either laptop performs in your workload.
Price and configurations: compare the exact models you can buy
Dell’s US launch material lists the XPS 13 starting at $699 and an eligible-student price of $599 during the described back-to-school offer. Dell’s comparison page lists the Neo at the same starting price. Those are US manufacturer-listed prices, not a guarantee of today’s checkout price or a price comparison for other countries. Check current availability, eligibility, and the configuration attached to each price before buying.

The configuration gap matters. Dell’s US listing identifies a Core 5 320 configuration for model DX13260, while its launch material describes Core Ultra Series 3 options, up to 32 GB of memory, and up to 1 TB of storage. Options vary by processor, so the maximum specification is not necessarily included in the starting configuration. Apple specifies the 2026 MacBook Neo with an A18 Pro chip, 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU, 8 GB unified memory, and a 256 GB or 512 GB SSD.
These configurations are not directly comparable by chip name. Choose based on the apps you need, the memory and storage you expect to use, and the actual price of those configurations—not on an assumption that one processor label proves a performance advantage.

Display: XPS offers more screen area and touch
Dell lists the XPS 13 with a 13.4-inch, 2560 × 1600 touchscreen and a variable refresh rate of 30–120 Hz. Apple lists the Neo with a 13.0-inch, 2408 × 1506 display rated at 500 nits; Dell’s comparison identifies the Neo display as non-touch. These are product specifications, not a direct assessment of image quality. If touch input or a higher listed refresh rate matters to your work, the XPS specification is the clearer fit; if it does not, the figures alone do not establish which screen you will prefer.
Battery life: vendor estimates are not a shared test
Dell advertises up to 17 hours of streaming for the XPS 13 and describes its test configuration and 150-nit screen brightness. Apple advertises up to 16 hours of video streaming and up to 11 hours of wireless web browsing for the Neo. The manufacturers’ methods are not shown to be equivalent, so these estimates do not demonstrate that the XPS lasts longer in the same use. Real battery life depends on workload, settings, and configuration.

Ports and external displays: check what you need to connect
Apple documents two USB-C ports on the Neo, but they do not have the same speed: one supports USB 3 up to 10 Gbps and DisplayPort, while the other supports USB 2 up to 480 Mbps. Apple specifies support for one external display at up to 4K and 60 Hz. Dell’s comparison says the XPS has two ports, supports charging on both sides, and supports multiple external displays. If you depend on a particular dock, monitor arrangement, or transfer speed, verify the exact configuration and connection requirements before purchasing.
Weight and portability
Dell lists the XPS 13 at 2.2 lb and the MacBook Neo at 2.7 lb. Dell also lists a 13.4-inch display for the XPS, compared with Apple’s 13.0-inch Neo display. These are listed product specifications rather than measurements made for this comparison. The XPS is the lighter listed option, while both remain in the same general screen-size class.

Windows or macOS: let your software decide
The XPS 13 runs Windows 11; the MacBook Neo runs macOS. Start with required applications, school or workplace compatibility, and any ecosystem dependencies you already rely on. The supplied product specifications do not establish a universal advantage for either operating system, so a feature list cannot replace checking whether your essential software and accessories work with the model you plan to buy.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the XPS 13 if you want Windows 11, a touchscreen, the larger listed display, a higher listed refresh rate, or the option to configure more memory and storage. Confirm which configuration is actually included at the price you will pay.
- Choose the MacBook Neo if you want macOS, and its specified 8 GB unified memory, 256 GB or 512 GB SSD, and single-external-display support meet your needs. Check your peripheral setup against the two ports’ different speeds.
- Decide by price only after matching configurations. Starting prices do not tell you what a higher-memory or higher-storage XPS costs, and the described student offer has eligibility and timing conditions.
- Do not choose on battery or speed claims alone. The published battery estimates use different vendor methods, and no matched benchmark establishes a performance winner.
