The 2024 Dell XPS 13 9345 is a light, premium 13.4-inch Copilot+ laptop with strong battery-test results, but its two-port design and Windows-on-Arm compatibility are important trade-offs. It makes the most sense if your essential apps and accessories work well on Arm and you value portability over built-in connections.
What you get with the XPS 13 9345
This is the 2024 Snapdragon X Elite version of the XPS 13, identified by Dell as model 9345. Dell’s U.S.-listed configuration uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite X1E-80-100, with a 45-TOPS NPU. The NPU supports on-device AI features in compatible software; it does not guarantee that every AI feature or application will be available in every configuration or region.

Dell’s technical specification sheet lists 16, 32, or 64 GB of LPDDR5x memory and SSD options starting at 512 GB, with some storage options marked as post-launch. Display choices include FHD+ non-touch, QHD+ touch, and 3K OLED touch. These are specification-sheet options, not a promise that every combination is available for sale in every country. Check the exact model and configuration offered where you plan to buy.
The 55-Wh integrated battery, 1080p webcam, and 60-W USB-C adapter are listed across Dell’s technical materials. Dell lists starting weights of about 1.19 kg for FHD+ and QHD+ variants, and about 1.17 kg for the OLED variant. The exact weight and features depend on the selected screen and configuration. Dell’s U.S. product listing and technical specification sheet provide the relevant model details; the U.S. listing was reported unavailable when checked on October 7, 2026, so current availability may differ.

Pros of the Dell XPS 13 9345
Light, compact design
The 13.4-inch chassis and low listed starting weight suit people who carry a laptop frequently. Reviewers describe the construction as premium, while the choice of FHD+, QHD+, and OLED panels lets buyers prioritize price, touch input, or a higher-end screen when those configurations are offered.
Long runtimes in two different lab tests
Battery results are promising, but the available figures come from different tests and should not be treated as a forecast for everyday use. Notebookcheck recorded 26 hours 25 minutes in its Wi-Fi web-surfing test after installing a Dell BIOS update intended to improve battery life. PCWorld recorded 16 hours in a video-playback test on its reviewed unit, configured with the X1E-80-100, 16 GB of memory, a 512 GB PCIe Gen4 SSD, an FHD+ LCD, and the 55-Wh battery. Because the workloads and test conditions differ, the two figures are not directly comparable or guaranteed for a buyer’s workload.

Cons and trade-offs to consider
Two USB-C ports mean planning around accessories
The XPS 13 9345 has two USB4 Type-C ports with DisplayPort 2.1 and Power Delivery. Charging uses one of them, so connecting a charger and a wired accessory can leave just one port. There is no built-in USB-A or HDMI; PCWorld notes that users who need those connections will need a dongle. A USB-C hub can help if you need USB-A, HDMI, or additional connections while charging, but check that the hub supports the power delivery and display features you need.
Windows-on-Arm compatibility is not universal
Compatibility depends on the exact application, version, driver, and peripheral. Some x86 or x64 programs can run through emulation, but that does not ensure that specialist software, games, device drivers, or every feature will work as expected. Reviews also flag graphics-driver and docking caveats. Before buying, check with the software maker or device manufacturer for support for Windows on Arm and the exact hardware or driver you rely on. TechRadar discusses compatibility considerations in its XPS 13 review.

Distinctive controls may not suit everyone
Reviewers call out the capacitive function row and seamless haptic touchpad as design choices that can be polarizing. If you prefer physical function keys or a touchpad with a clearly defined click area, try the layout in person if possible.
Should you buy the Dell XPS 13 9345?
Consider it if you want a portable, premium Windows laptop, value long runtimes, and have confirmed that your essential software and peripherals work on Windows on Arm. The best choice among its screen and memory options depends on what is actually offered in your market and the demands of your work.
Look elsewhere if you need built-in USB-A or HDMI, depend on software or drivers without confirmed Arm support, or expect a laptop to handle a particular game or graphics workload without compatibility checks. When comparing alternatives, use the exact local configuration and compare battery results only when test methods are alike. Also weigh display type and refresh rate, port and docking needs, and graphics performance against the work you actually do.
