Start by checking the Phone app’s Calls and Missed lists. If the call is gone, Apple’s documented recovery method is to restore an iPhone backup made before the deletion. You can also check another device that was already syncing Phone & FaceTime data, or ask your carrier whether it can provide older call details. Apple does not document a Recently Deleted folder for calls.
Check the Phone app first
Open the Phone app and use the Filter control to view Calls or Missed. The available labels and layout depend on your iOS version and Phone layout, so follow what appears on your screen.

If Phone & FaceTime syncing was enabled on another device signed in to the same Apple Account, check that device’s Phone app. Apple says this setting makes the data available across enabled devices. It is syncing, not a deleted-items recovery folder; turning it on after a call was deleted is not documented as a way to bring that entry back.

On iPhone, find the setting at Settings > [your name] > iCloud > See All on iOS 18 or later, or Show All on iOS 16–17, then turn on Phone & FaceTime. The devices must use the same Apple Account and have the feature enabled. Apple says that when this setting is off, the data remains on that device rather than in iCloud. Restore a backup made before the call was deleted
Apple’s stated way to recover deleted call history is to restore the iPhone from a backup made before deletion. Phone & FaceTime data is not included in iCloud Backup, so do not assume that an iCloud backup contains the call history merely because it predates the deletion. Apple distinguishes this backup from Phone & FaceTime syncing.

Restoring can replace current device data. If the iPhone is already set up, Apple requires you to erase it before restoring an iCloud backup. Preserve any current information you need before proceeding, and verify the backup date carefully. Apple also warns that setting up the iPhone as new and allowing new backups can overwrite an older saved iCloud backup.
Restore from iCloud during setup
- Check that a relevant backup was made before the deletion. Apple’s iCloud backup and restore guidance explains how to check available backups and their dates.
- If the iPhone is already configured, preserve current data and erase it before starting the restore.
- During iPhone setup, choose to restore from an iCloud backup, sign in, and select the backup by its date and size.
Restore from a computer backup
- Connect the iPhone to the computer containing the backup.
- Open Finder on a Mac, or Apple Devices on a Windows PC; use iTunes in older environments where applicable.
- Select the iPhone and choose Restore Backup. Choose a backup made before the deletion. If it is encrypted, enter its backup password.

Ask your mobile carrier about older call details
Apple says a carrier may have more information about deleted calls or older call histories. Contact your own carrier and ask whether it can provide the dates and details you need. Availability depends on the carrier; Apple does not specify a retention period or guarantee that a particular record will be available.
