DeepSigma Announces a Paper-Trading Exchange for Real-World Asset Perpetuals

DeepSigma has announced a decentralized exchange for perpetual futures linked to real-world assets, but its described product is currently a paper-trading demo, not evidence of a live funded trading venue. The company says the demo covers 77 markets and runs on Cypherium. Its contracts are described as providing price exposure without giving traders ownership or custody of the referenced assets.

What DeepSigma announced

In an October 13, 2026 announcement, DeepSigma described a decentralized perpetual-futures exchange for real-world assets (RWAs). The announced demo offers paper trading across 77 markets spanning U.S. equities, indexes, commodities, sector exchange-traded funds, and Treasury yields. The release also describes market data, technical analysis, and AI-powered trading insights. Crypto Briefing independently repeated the 77-market paper-demo description on the same day; that corroborates the reported scope of the demo, not the existence of live funded trading. Paper trading simulates trades rather than demonstrating that customers can deposit funds, execute real orders, or withdraw proceeds. The available announcement does not establish when live trading might begin, who can access it, or whether it will be available in any particular jurisdiction.

What the contracts represent—and what they do not

According to the release, DeepSigma’s perpetual contracts track external price data for real-world markets and allow long or short exposure without delivering or taking custody of the underlying asset. A contract linked to a stock, commodity, or Treasury yield is therefore not the same as owning the corresponding share, physical commodity, or Treasury security. The announcement does not identify the external price-data providers or explain how their data is selected and handled.

The release describes the platform as powered by Cypherium, which it characterizes as an open, permissionless Layer 1 blockchain. It says Cypherium combines Proof-of-Work with HotStuff-derived Byzantine Fault Tolerant consensus and that its technology is protected by four granted U.S. patents: 12,443,569; 11,907,174; 11,516,006; and 11,411,721. Those technical and patent details are claims in DeepSigma’s announcement; the cited coverage does not independently establish them.

What is known about the team

The announcement presents DeepSigma as built by people with experience at Goldman Sachs, Citadel Securities, Google, and Uber. It names Albert Xu as CFO and describes him as a former Goldman Sachs FICC portfolio manager; Chaoran Wang as CTO and a former Google and Uber engineer; and Jenny Chen as Chief Quant Director, most recently at Citadel Securities. These are descriptions in the company announcement, not independent verification of employment history. The alumni framing also does not, by itself, indicate that those firms sponsor, operate, or endorse DeepSigma.

Regulatory language is not regulatory approval

DeepSigma’s announcement says the company is working with specialized digital-asset counsel and designed the platform around U.S. regulatory frameworks. That statement does not establish that the exchange is licensed, registered, or approved by a regulator, nor does it specify which users or jurisdictions will be eligible. The announcement does not provide a regulatory status, access policy, or jurisdiction list that readers can use to determine whether they may trade.

Do not confuse DeepSigma with Goldman Sachs’ GS DAP

Goldman Sachs separately described GS DAP as its blockchain-based financial-services platform. In November 2024, Goldman Sachs said it intended to explore a potential spin-out of the technology platform, subject to regulatory approvals. That background is about GS DAP; it does not establish a relationship between GS DAP and DeepSigma. (Goldman Sachs announcement, November 18, 2024)

What prospective users still need to know

The announcement and same-day coverage establish a paper-demo description, but do not supply several details needed to assess a live trading service. In particular, they do not state:

  • whether or when funded trading will be available, or which jurisdictions and users would be eligible;
  • fees, liquidity, margin requirements, or liquidation rules;
  • how contracts settle, or the custody arrangements for any collateral;
  • which external data providers supply prices and how pricing disputes or interruptions are handled.

Those omissions matter because perpetual contracts can create exposure very different from holding the underlying asset, and because the mechanics of pricing, margin, liquidation, and settlement affect the risks of trading. A paper demo alone cannot establish how those mechanics will work with real funds. Readers should treat DeepSigma as an announced concept with a reported paper-trading demo until the company publishes verifiable live-service terms and operational details.
