The latest reported financing is at least 80 billion yuan (US$12 billion). Signed term sheets could take the round close to 100 billion yuan (approximately US$14.9 billion), according to Bloomberg reporting carried by The Business Times. Those figures describe ongoing talks: the report says final discussions were still underway and the terms could change.

The same October report says DeepSeek initially targeted about 50 billion yuan for the round. The larger reported total therefore reflects an evolving fundraising process, not a separate amount to add to the initial target.
Who is investing in the latest round?
Tencent and CATL are reported among the biggest contributors to the current financing, but the October report does not state their individual amounts. CATL declined to comment, Tencent had no immediate comment, and DeepSeek did not respond during a Chinese public holiday, according to The Business Times. The figures come from people familiar with the matter, rather than public company filings.

Is DeepSeek going public in 2027?
The October report says restructuring is expected after the financing closes, with the aim of preparing DeepSeek for an IPO as early as 2027. That is a reported plan, not confirmation that the round has closed or that DeepSeek has filed to go public.
An earlier South China Morning Post report on August 26, 2026 described a potential Shanghai STAR Market listing. Neither report establishes a filed prospectus or a confirmed listing date, and DeepSeek has not announced a listing plan in the reporting cited here.

How the latest figures differ from earlier financing reports
DeepSeek’s reported fundraising figures refer to different snapshots and stages. They should not be combined into one round or treated as interchangeable valuations.

For the October round, the 500-billion-yuan figure is described as DeepSeek’s original valuation target, not a confirmed final price. The August report’s pre-investment valuation and the October report’s evolving financing terms are distinct reports at different points in the process.

The October report also says DeepSeek plans a large data center under construction in Inner Mongolia, with at least 160,000 Huawei accelerators reportedly planned for it. The stated plan provides infrastructure context for the fundraising, but it does not establish that the equipment has been purchased or installed.
Reuters’ June report discussed hardware constraints in the context of U.S. export restrictions. It quoted Ankura China Advisors managing director Alfredo Montufar-Helu on DeepSeek’s access to advanced American chips; that comment related to the earlier report and should not be read as an explanation of the October round’s final terms.
