What you get with Arc Ultra
Arc Ultra is Sonos’s premium home-theater soundbar. Sonos announced it on October 15, 2024, with a U.S. launch price of $999 and availability beginning October 29, 2024; that launch price is historical, not the current listed price. The company describes the soundbar as using Sound Motion technology and 14 Sonos-engineered drivers to deliver 9.1.4 spatial audio with Dolby Atmos. Sonos calls it “the sleekest and most powerful soundbar Sonos has ever created”—a company product claim, not an independent test result. Sonos’s launch announcement and its current product page describe the design and features.

The product page lists HDMI eARC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2, voice control, Trueplay room tuning, speech enhancement, and night sound. These features may make Arc Ultra appealing if you want a single-bar setup with modern TV connectivity and audio controls, but the published specifications alone do not establish how it will perform in a particular room.

Check your TV and setup before buying
Sonos lists a compatible TV with HDMI eARC, nearby power, an internet connection, and the current Sonos app among Arc Ultra’s requirements. The box includes a power cable and HDMI cable. Sonos also says the soundbar is not compatible with CCFL-backlit TVs manufactured from 2004 through 2012. Review Sonos Arc Ultra support if your TV is older or you are unsure about its connection and setup requirements.
How it compares with other Sonos soundbars
Sonos’s comparison gives Arc Ultra, Beam Ultra, and Ray different channel formats and driver counts. Consider those specifications alongside the current prices, the bar’s physical fit in your setup, and how you plan to watch; the channel figures alone do not determine results in every room.

No. Sonos presents Arc Ultra with Sub 4 in a premium set and describes configurations using Era 300 rear speakers, but these are optional, separate purchases. You can assess the soundbar deal on its own without treating extra speakers or a subwoofer as prerequisites.
