You can earn them through Rift rewards or redeem a valid code; to equip one, open the relevant character’s customization area and look for its charm options. The exact current menu labels and slot rules are not documented in the official sources cited here, so use the live in-game interface rather than relying on older instructions.
What charms are
Behaviour Interactive introduced charms as cosmetic items: Survivors can wear them as accessories, while Killer charms appear as hook ornaments. Charms do not unlock gameplay abilities. The publisher’s original Archives announcement describes their purpose and early reward context; its acquisition details are historical, not a complete list of current sources.

How to unlock charms
Earn rewards through the Rift
The current Rift overview describes a Free Track and a Premium Track, with Rift quests helping players progress toward rewards. Check the live reward track to see whether a particular charm is included and which track offers it; buying a pass does not guarantee a specific charm.

After unlocking the pass, players can open tiers for 100 Auric Cells per tier. The page also says rewards from tiers already completed are granted if the pass is bought later. Prices, rewards and active-cycle details may vary by time or storefront context, so confirm them in-game before spending.
#1 Best Overall
- A Kotobukiya import
- From the groundbreaking multiplayer horror game
- Comes to life striking his signature weapon, the Wailing Bell
- Every element and texture of The Wraith is perfectly brought to life
- Base design recreates the characteristic details of The Wraith's stage in the game
Rift rewards are cycle-dependent. The publisher says challenges for a Rift are no longer available after it closes and a new Rift arrives afterward. The page’s named active Rift can change, so treat its cycle name and listed rewards as temporary rather than evergreen.
Use a code or promotion
A code may grant a charm if that reward is attached to it. Some past partner promotions involved account linking and a unique code, but the 2022 Flippin Misfits offer was time-limited and is not evidence of a currently available promotion. Only use a promotion’s stated terms and expiry to decide whether it is still redeemable.

How to redeem a Dead by Daylight code
Dead by Daylight Player Support’s instructions, published January 26, 2024, give this in-game route:
- Launch Dead by Daylight and open Store.
- Go to Featured.
- Select Redeem at the bottom left.
- Enter the code and redeem it.
If redemption fails, Support says an error may appear when a code has expired or when the account already owns the reward. Check the code’s terms and expiry, confirm you entered it correctly, and check whether the item is already in your inventory. See the official code redemption help page for the documented process.

How to equip a charm
Open the customization or loadout area for the Survivor or Killer you want to use, then look for the charm customization options and select the charm you own. The exact current labels, sequence and number of available slots are not established by the official pages cited here, and the layout can change. If you cannot find the option, inspect the character-specific customization screens in the current game rather than following a button-by-button guide for an older interface.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why older charm guides may look different
Dead by Daylight’s terminology and progression flow changed. In its May 1, 2025 announcement, Behaviour Interactive said The Archives would be called The Rift going forward and described replacing Tome Challenges with quests. Older guides may therefore refer to Archives, Tomes or challenges where current guidance refers to the Rift and quests. The publisher’s 2025 update announcement explains that transition.
