That is smaller than Chernarus, usually estimated at roughly 225–230 km², but Livonia’s dense woodland, rivers and indirect roads make journeys feel longer than the raw area suggests.

Livonia’s loot tiers are not documented consistently across community guides, so use a current interactive loot map rather than an old static tier chart. The map’s signature underground objective is the Dambog Bunker: its principal entrance is card-gated, the Punched Card degrades with swipes, and the three floors are reported to progress from tier 1 to tier 3 military loot. A complete run normally needs at least two players.

How large is the Livonia map?
Livonia is generally described as approximately 163 square kilometres. That number comes from the downloadable-content description quoted by the DayZ Fandom wiki; it is not an officially published Bohemia Interactive survey measurement. Bohemia has not published a definitive width-and-height figure for the playable terrain.
For context, community references usually place Chernarus at about 225–230 km², often described as roughly 15 × 15 km. The difference means Livonia is around one-third smaller by area, but area alone does not predict travel time or how much ground you must search to find supplies.

| Map | Commonly cited area | What the figure means |
|---|---|---|
| Livonia | About 163 km² | Area quoted from the DLC description on the DayZ Fandom wiki; not a measured official survey |
| Chernarus | About 225–230 km² | Community estimates vary; roughly 15 × 15 km is often used as a shorthand |
The official printed Livonia map gives a scale and sheet dimensions, but those details do not provide a verified playable-area total. A forum discussion also found no official answer; one player estimated approximately 12,800 × 12,800 game units, while Chernarus is commonly listed at 15,360 × 15,360 units. Treat those unit estimates as community speculation, not dimensions you can rely on for navigation or planning.
Why Livonia can feel bigger than its area
- Forest cover hides landmarks. Long stretches of trees reduce your view distance and make it harder to keep a straight line.
- Rivers and bridges force detours. A settlement that looks close on the map may require a bridge crossing or a long bend around the water.
- Roads are indirect. Winding routes add distance compared with a direct line across an open field.
- Less visual information increases caution. Players often slow down, stop to listen and avoid exposed crossings, extending real travel time.
Use the 163 km² figure to compare the overall footprint, not to estimate an exact sprint time. Your route, weather, stamina, terrain and the need to avoid other survivors matter more than the headline area.

Livonia uses a tiered loot system, but community references do not agree on one universal map. Guides classify locations differently, and some describe tiers by inland distance and danger rather than assigning every town to a fixed numbered band.
One commonly circulated layout puts Lukow Airfield and Bielawa in tier 1; Radunin, Borek and Krsnik in tier 2; and Swarog plus the Dambog Bunker in tier 3. That same guide separates major military and industrial sites into a “Unique” category. Another guide treats the northern military region as tier 4 and emphasizes distance from the coast and increasing danger. These systems cannot both be treated as an authoritative current chart.
Use an interactive map for current planning
Interactive maps such as those at wobo.tools and dzpage.com are reported to derive loot information from the game’s mission files. That approach is generally more useful for a current route than a static article written for an earlier patch, although mission-file interpretations and game updates can still change results.
- Open an interactive Livonia map that identifies its data source and update date.
- Filter for the item class you need: civilian food, medical supplies, military clothing, ammunition or weapons.
- Check several nearby locations rather than assuming one town contains every item in its nominal tier.
- Plan an exit route and a fallback settlement before entering a high-risk military area.
- Recheck the map after a major DayZ update; loot tables and contamination rules are not permanent.
What a tier tells you—and what it does not
A tier is a probability band, not a guarantee. It indicates the kind of loot that can spawn and the relative risk of the area. It does not promise that a particular rifle, magazine or medical item will be present when you arrive. Server persistence, other players, restarts and the game’s economy settings affect what you actually find.
| Planning question | Best use of tier information | What to verify separately |
|---|---|---|
| Where should a fresh spawn go? | Start with lower-risk civilian locations and work inland | Water, food, weather and the presence of other players |
| Where are advanced weapons likely? | Prioritize higher-tier military or special locations | Current mission-file data and contamination requirements |
| Is a route worth the risk? | Compare expected tier against distance and exposure | Player activity, ammunition, medical supplies and an exit path |
Key Livonia locations for military loot
Swarog Military Base
Swarog is described by community guides as Livonia’s largest surface military installation. Its size makes it a logical destination when you need military equipment, but it also creates more angles from which another survivor can observe or intercept you. Search methodically, keep cover between buildings, and avoid treating the base as a single quick loot stop.
Radunin contaminated zone
Radunin is a contaminated area. To loot its assault rifles and night-vision goggles, you need a complete NBC setup that protects the relevant body slots, plus a gas mask with a usable filter. Entering without the full protection is not a high-risk shortcut; the contamination damage can kill you before you finish searching.
Prepare the suit, mask and spare filters before travelling to Radunin. If a filter is nearly exhausted, turn back rather than gambling on a second building. Contaminated-zone loot is only useful if you can leave alive and decontaminate afterward.
Lukow Airfield
Lukow has military hangars and guardhouses, but its open sightlines expose players moving between structures. It is often placed in a lower tier by one community chart, while other classifications use different boundaries. Approach from cover, observe the runway and outer buildings first, and do not assume that a low nominal tier makes the airfield safe.

Dambog Bunker: location and entrances
Dambog is a small hilltop compound in far southwestern Livonia. The compound contains the entrances to the map’s principal bunker complex. The surface site is compact, so players arriving late can be spotted quickly; scan the surrounding tree line before committing to the doors.
Main entrance: Punched Card reader
The main door has a card reader and requires a Punched Card. Cards are scarce. Community guides commonly associate them with convoy zombies, so finding one may require tracking convoy events or taking a card from another player. Do not travel to Dambog assuming a random infected will provide a replacement.
Every swipe degrades the card. A pristine or worn card can support multiple uses, while a badly damaged card may be ruined after one use, according to a Steam player report. Check the card’s condition before starting the run and avoid wasting swipes on repeated door tests.
Secondary entrance: control-tower door
A smaller metal door sits beneath a military control tower. Guides report that opening this entrance from outside requires at least two people. The second player is not merely extra firepower: the mechanism is designed around coordinated operation, so a solo survivor should not count on this door as a reliable bypass.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsLeaving the bunker
You can leave without a card. A lever on the main door is reported to open the exit from inside, so the team should not burn a remaining swipe simply to get out. Locate the lever as soon as you enter and keep your exit route clear before moving deeper.

What loot is on each bunker floor?
Community references describe three bunker levels with increasing military loot tiers:
| Level | Reported loot tier | Practical expectation |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Tier 1 military | Entry-level military equipment and supplies |
| Level 2 | Tier 2 military | More advanced equipment, with greater exposure and risk |
| Level 3 | Tier 3 military | Highest reported regular bunker tier |
The best rewards are commonly reported in weapon caches on level 3 after Puzzle 2. That information comes from guides covering DayZ versions 1.19 through 1.23, so the puzzle sequence, cache contents and access rules may not match the current build. Treat the floor progression as a planning framework, not a guaranteed drop table.
How to prepare for a Dambog run
Before leaving your base or camp
- Bring a Punched Card in good condition and protect it from unnecessary handling.
- Carry enough food and water for the approach, the bunker search and the return trip.
- Pack medical supplies for blood loss, fractures and infection rather than relying on bunker loot.
- Use a weapon and ammunition combination you can maintain; rare ammunition is not useful if you cannot extract it safely.
- Carry storage space for bulky military items, but keep stamina available for the trip out.
- Agree on a rally point and a fallback route if the compound is occupied.
- Use at least two players for a full expedition, especially if you intend to use the control-tower entrance or carry large amounts of loot.
At the hilltop compound
- Stop short of the buildings and observe the compound, nearby tree lines and likely approach routes.
- Confirm that the card is present and note its condition before swiping.
- Open the main entrance, or coordinate the two-person control-tower mechanism if that is your chosen entry.
- Identify the internal exit lever immediately.
- Move through the floors as a team, keeping one player watching the rear and stair approaches.
- Search level 3 and the weapon-cache area only after the team has a secure retreat plan; current puzzle rules may differ from older guides.
- Leave before hunger, hydration, bleeding or card condition becomes an emergency.
Common Dambog problems and fixes
“My card disappeared after one swipe”
That can happen when the card was already badly damaged. Card durability is reported to control the number of uses, and a ruined card cannot be treated as a reusable key. Inspect condition before entry and carry a second card only if your group can obtain one without compromising the route.
“I am alone at the control-tower door”
The outside mechanism is reported to require at least two people. Use the main card reader instead, or return with a partner. Do not assume that server lag or repeated interaction will make the solo attempt work.
“We cannot find a way out”
Search the main door for the internal lever. The reported exit method does not require another card swipe, so preserve the card for future access.

“The bunker loot does not match an old guide”
Older descriptions reference versions 1.19–1.23. A patch can alter puzzle states, cache contents, spawn locations or card behaviour. Verify the current build’s mission data and recent community reports before basing a long expedition on an old floor-by-floor promise.
Planning a Livonia route around risk
A practical route balances four factors: expected loot tier, distance inland, the type of point of interest and whether access is card-gated or open.

| Route factor | Lower-risk choice | Higher-risk choice |
|---|---|---|
| Loot tier | Civilian and lower-tier settlements | Large military bases, contaminated zones and bunker floors |
| Distance from the coast | Short inland move with several fallback towns | Long one-way journey with limited resupply |
| Point-of-interest type | Small buildings with multiple exits | Airfields, bases and compounds with open approaches |
| Access | Open locations requiring no special item | Dambog’s card reader or the two-person tower mechanism |
For a new character, gather food, water, clothing and basic medical supplies before chasing military equipment. Once you have a stable kit, use the current interactive map to choose a nearby military stop, then decide whether the extra distance to Radunin, Swarog or Dambog is justified by what your group actually needs.
For an established squad, assign roles before departure: navigator, rear security, looter and card holder. Keep the card holder out of unnecessary fights, because losing the only card can end the expedition even if the rest of the group survives.
What is confirmed—and what can change
The broad facts are stable enough for route planning: Livonia is about 163 km², it is smaller than Chernarus, Dambog is in the far southwest, and the bunker is associated with a Punched Card and three escalating floors of military loot. The exact map dimensions, current tier boundaries, puzzle sequence and card durability behaviour are not fixed by an official public specification in the available material.
DayZ updates can change mission files and bunker logic. Before a serious run, check the current game version, an interactive loot map that states its data source, and recent player reports for card and puzzle behaviour. That small verification step is more reliable than memorising a tier diagram or bunker walkthrough made several patches ago.
