Bison in the live-action Street Fighter film scheduled for October 16, 2026, has expressed interest in a Street Fighter-themed Magic: The Gathering Commander deck. There is an official Street Fighter Magic crossover, but it is a Secret Lair card drop—not a documented, ready-to-play 100-card Commander deck.
Why David Dastmalchian is linked to Street Fighter
Capcom announced on September 5, 2025, that filming had begun on its live-action Street Fighter adaptation. The company lists October 16, 2026, as the release date and names David Dastmalchian among the starring cast. A ComingSoon report published August 26, 2026, identifies Dastmalchian as M. Bison.

Dastmalchian described a preparation process focused on how frightening leaders gain devoted followers. “I’m curious about films where there are these villainous leaders that have endless armies of foot soldiers willing to throw themselves into certain death to defend them,” he said. “How do you become the person that all of these people are going to follow into the fire?”
He said the creative team studied cult leadership and historical figures who combined terror and intimidation with “cunning, charm, and seduction” to build major movements. That approach frames M. Bison as more than a conventional game villain: his power depends on influence, loyalty and manipulation as well as physical threat.

Does Magic have a Street Fighter Commander deck?
Not as an officially documented preconstructed product. Wizards of the Coast announced that “The legendary World Warriors of Street Fighter are ready to battle in Magic: The Gathering” through a Secret Lair x Street Fighter drop. The announcement identifies individual crossover cards, including Chun-Li and other Street Fighter characters, but does not announce a Street Fighter-branded Commander deck containing 100 ready-to-play cards.
That distinction matters because a preconstructed Commander deck and a Secret Lair drop serve different purposes. A preconstructed deck is built as a complete multiplayer deck with a commander, lands, a mana base and supporting cards. Secret Lair products generally provide specially themed individual cards or small sets that buyers add to an existing deck, use as collectibles or display, or adapt into a custom build.

What is in Secret Lair x Street Fighter?
The crossover’s confirmed scope is a Secret Lair card release featuring Street Fighter characters, with Chun-Li specifically identified in the announcement. The available information does not establish a complete character checklist here, so buyers should verify the current contents on the product listing before purchasing. It also does not establish a separate, officially packaged M. Bison Commander deck.

For Commander players, the cards can function as themed inclusions in decks that meet their color identity and format rules. Collectors may instead want the original Secret Lair treatment, while some players may use equivalent cards or proxies for a purely thematic build. Those are different use cases from buying a factory-assembled Street Fighter deck.

| Primary appeal | Collecting, themed upgrades and custom deck construction | Immediate out-of-the-box Commander play |

How to get the closest physical product
- Search the exact product name. Use “Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair x Street Fighter” or “Street Fighter MTG cards” rather than searching for a Commander deck alone.
- Check the contents before ordering. Confirm which characters and card treatments are included in the current listing; the announcement does not provide a complete checklist in this coverage.
- Decide how you will use the cards. Choose between collecting the original treatment, adding legal cards to an existing Commander deck, or building a custom Street Fighter-inspired list.
- Verify seller and condition. If the Secret Lair release is no longer available directly, compare sealed and singles listings carefully because secondary-market supply and prices can change.
- Check Commander legality. A themed card still has to fit your commander’s color identity and the format’s current rules. A Secret Lair label does not make an entire deck automatically playable.
What Dastmalchian’s wish would require
A true Street Fighter Commander product would need more than character cards. It would require a legal 100-card list, one or more commanders, a coherent mana base, reprints or new designs to support the World Warriors, and enough interaction to function in a multiplayer game. Wizards’ announcement establishes the crossover cards, not that larger product design.
That leaves room for fans to create their own deck around the available cards, but it would be a fan-built or personally customized Commander deck rather than an official Street Fighter preconstructed release. Dastmalchian’s enthusiasm therefore points to a possible future product idea, not evidence that such a deck is currently on sale.
