Yes. In an announcement dated Oct. 1, 2026, Datarails said its FinanceOS platform now natively supports Google Sheets for Datarails customers. The company described a workflow that brings Datarails formulas, tables, reports, filters and record drill-through into Sheets. This is different from Datarails’ previously documented process for importing Google Sheets data into the platform.
What Datarails announced
Datarails announced native Google Sheets support in FinanceOS, extending its finance platform beyond Excel for organizations using Google Workspace. The release says the capability is available to Datarails customers, but does not specify which plans or rollout conditions apply. Datarails’ Oct. 1, 2026 announcement is the source for the product details below; they are vendor-described capabilities, not the result of independent testing.
What teams can do in Google Sheets
According to Datarails, users can work with platform data and features inside a Google Sheet:
- Build with Datarails formulas: Use a formula-building panel to add Datarails formulas directly in Sheets.
- Create reports: Create Datarails tables and reports in a sheet, and add custom columns that the company says persist through refreshes.
- Filter what appears: Apply global filters so that only authorized data appears in the sheet.
- Refresh and inspect figures: Figures update when underlying data changes. Users can drill into cells, including cells referencing Datarails numbers, to view detailed records.
- Collaborate: The release lists real-time co-editing, presence and commenting in Sheets.
- Keep a static copy: Export a view as static values when a frozen snapshot is needed.
The announcement describes these functions but does not explain their technical architecture or establish that every feature is enabled for every customer.

How native support differs from importing a Google Sheet
Datarails had already documented a separate workflow in which Google Sheets serves as a data source for automated Datarails reports and dashboards. Its support article, updated March 30, 2026, describes selecting or linking a sheet, bringing its data into Datarails and mapping it to the database. It also says comments are removed before upload and describes an option to sync only when changes are detected in the source file. What to check when evaluating the integration
The announcement confirms availability to Datarails customers, but does not give pricing, plan eligibility, regional availability, security certifications or integration prerequisites. Ask Datarails which features your account can access and what setup is required. For workflow fit, consider:
- Whether your team works primarily in Google Sheets or Excel.
- Whether you need Datarails formulas, tables, reports, filters or record-level drill-through inside the sheet.
- Whether co-editing, presence and comments in the connected workbook matter to your team.
- Whether you need to export a view as static values for a fixed snapshot.
- Whether your customer status and plan permit access to the features you need.
How Datarails explains the move
Datarails co-founder and CEO Didi Gurfinkel described the problem the company says it is addressing: “Most finance teams face a challenge of scattered spreadsheets reflecting several versions of the truth.” He also said, “We’re not here to pick sides between Excel and Google Sheets.” These statements express the vendor’s rationale and positioning; they do not independently demonstrate product outcomes. The announcement also frames a trusted data layer as a way to make AI outputs accurate, governed, repeatable and auditable, which should likewise be read as the company’s stated rationale.
