Spoilers for Dark Urge scenes and endings. The available sources do not establish a reliable, speaker-verified “top eight” list, so presenting eight quotations as confirmed game dialogue would risk misattribution. They do document three particularly grisly lines in an Act II dialogue archive, plus two Dark Urge moments Larian specifically noted in its patch notes. “Most unhinged” is a subjective judgment, not an official ranking.
Three grisly lines recorded in an Act II archive
The Act II Moonrise Towers dialogue archive records the following lines with Dark Urge tags. The archive is useful for locating dialogue, but the available context does not establish enough about each speaker and trigger to treat these as universally available player lines. Their impact depends on the surrounding scene.

“I remove the vitals, turn the skin inside out, then stuff them.”
The blunt, practical phrasing makes this the most grisly of the three. It reads like a methodical description, not a moment of sudden rage.

“… murder, glorious murder.”
The line’s theatrical enthusiasm makes it darkly comic as well as disturbing. Its effect depends on the scene and who is speaking.

“*The pleasure of the memory dribbles out of your leaking skull, into the very air…*”
This image turns a memory into something physical and grotesque. The archive’s excerpt does not provide enough surrounding dialogue to pin down the precise trigger or speaker with confidence.
Two Dark Urge moments Larian documented
The arson contemplation
Larian’s Patch 7 notes say the studio added more Dark Urge reactivity, including dialogue options and Narrator lines across the game. They also specifically record a new line where the Dark Urge contemplates arson. The notes establish that such a line was added, but do not supply its wording or a scene trigger; there is not enough here to quote it as a complete in-game line.

“Blood, blood, blood”
Larian’s Patch 6 notes say the chant “Blood, blood, blood” was added to the Dark Urge ending cinematic. That is a short, officially documented phrase, but it belongs to an ending scene rather than a general line every player will hear.

Dark Urge dialogue varies with choices, character context, route, and scene conditions. Larian’s notes confirm that the studio added reactivity, while the archive marks some entries with the Dark Urge origin tag; neither source establishes a universal order of the most shocking lines or how often players encounter them. A ranking would therefore be editorial, not official. A sensible rubric would weigh shock value, dark comedy, specificity of imagery, and how much the scene changes a line’s meaning.

- Contains Enhanced Editions of Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II, & Siege of Dragonspear
- Baldur's Gate - Since its original release in 1998, Baldur's Gate has set the standard for Dungeons & Dragons computer roleplaying games.
- Baldur's Gate II - Continue a journey started in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition or create an entirely new character in this isometric Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game.
- Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear - Adds a new chapter to the Bhaalspawn saga. The events occurring between Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II are at last revealed in this 25-hour adventure.
The ending also depends on the route taken. The community wiki’s epilogue overview distinguishes outcomes for a rejected or embraced Urge, but the exact dialogue belongs to particular endings and should not be presented as a single shared experience. For a spoiler-sensitive playthrough, treat the archive and patch notes as signposts, not a promise that a line will appear in your run.
