- Identify your exact location. Match the room or outdoor area on screen with the chapter menu. Do not begin with a later chapter simply because its title sounds familiar; the game’s item dependencies are sequential.
- Read the current objective before clicking. The guide’s screenshots make it easier to distinguish an object that can be collected from scenery that is only decorative.
- Follow item combinations exactly. If the guide shows two inventory objects being combined, perform that combination before trying the destination interaction. Using the finished item, rather than its ingredients, is often what advances the task.
- Enter and leave scenes when instructed. A transition can trigger dialogue, a cut-scene, or the next task. If the expected interaction is unavailable, move to another named scene and return once.

An inventory combination fails
Confirm that you are using the exact item pair shown for the current step. The guide documents many item-use sequences; using a visually similar object, or attempting a combination before the preceding task is complete, will not necessarily produce feedback.

Re-read the puzzle’s own instructions and compare the starting layout with the screenshot in the chapter guide. A move sequence is meaningful only when the board is in the same initial state. Restart the mini-game if the game offers that control, then apply the documented moves from the beginning.
The next chapter seems inaccessible
Check the chapter order: Grandma’s House, Castle, Lake, Dungeon, Defeating Alana, then Defeating Rothbart. The final chapters are progression outcomes, not alternate starting points. Finish the outstanding task in the current location before expecting the next chapter to open.
