Charlie Cox is reportedly involved in an unannounced Sega game, but as of October 9, 2026, that claim rests on a Reddit post headline. No Sega announcement, transcript, or recording of the exchange has been confirmed, and the game’s title, platform, and Cox’s role are all still unknown.
What the report says
A Reddit post indexed on October 9, 2026 carries the headline “Not Sure What I’m Allowed to Say,” and its wording suggests Cox is part of a Sega project that has not been announced. That headline is the post’s own phrasing. It is not a verified quotation from Cox or from Sega, and it should be read as a report rather than an on-record confirmation.

What NYCC 2026 does and doesn’t tell us
New York Comic Con 2026 runs October 8–11 at the Javits Center in New York City, according to the official event website. The site describes gaming programming and says some panels and interviews are livestreamed, and it notes that programming is subject to change.
#1 Best Overall
- Genesis Classic Console by AtGames
The official pages reviewed do not mention the reported Cox conversation. Neither a livestream listing nor an event schedule entry confirms that the exchange was recorded or made public. Cox being at the event, or the event hosting gaming content, does not by itself establish a Sega reveal.
Why franchise guesses are premature
Commenters on the Reddit thread have speculated about which Sega franchise might be involved. Those guesses are not confirmation, and no source checked supports naming a specific franchise. Repeating one as a likely identification would present speculation as reporting.

- HD PLUS: Experience your old classics in 720P clarity!

- ACCESSORY COMPATABILITY: Dust off and bring out your old accessories. The Retro Trio is compatible with original NES, SNES and Genesis controller port accessories!
What would confirm the report
- A primary video or transcript of the Cox exchange, showing the actual words used and the context.
- An official Sega announcement, press release, or store listing naming the game.
- A credited cast or role listing that shows Cox’s part in the project.
- Platform and release details published by Sega or the game’s publisher.
Until one of these appears, the accurate description of the story is a reported, unconfirmed association between Cox and an unannounced Sega project. The official NYCC and Sega channels are the places to watch for updates while the event continues.
