Those figures and the timetable are reported expectations, not final terms.
What Dangote Cement has officially said
In a 12 May 2026 disclosure, Dangote Cement said it was at a preliminary stage of exploring a possible secondary listing on the London Stock Exchange. The company made any transaction subject to corporate approvals, final terms, regulatory approvals and market conditions. Its company secretary, Edward Imoedemhe, wrote: “There is no certainty that the proposed listing will be completed or, if completed, as to the terms or timing thereof.” Read the disclosure.

That statement is the clearest issuer-confirmed position: the proposal is under consideration, not a finalized offer or a guaranteed listing.

Semafor reported on 5 October 2026, citing a person familiar with the plans, that Dangote Group had pitched London investors in late September and hoped to raise up to $1 billion. The report said the group was targeting completion during 2026. These are reported targets; Dangote Cement’s formal disclosure has not confirmed a fundraising amount or completion date. Earlier, on 8 May, Semafor relayed a Financial Times report that Aliko Dangote planned to sell about 10% of the cement company’s shares. Global Cement also reported that figure in July. Treat the percentage as a reported plan, not an agreed sale amount. May report; July report.
Would London replace the Lagos listing?
No indication in the available company information suggests that the Nigerian listing is being replaced. Dangote Cement is already listed on the Nigerian Exchange, where it trades as DANGCEM. Global Cement reported on 27 July that the contemplated London transaction was a secondary listing and that Lagos would remain the primary listing. That is a reported description of the plan, rather than a final transaction term published by the company. The same report said the company preferred London to Dubai, with Dubai expected to take longer; it did not provide a quantified comparison of costs, requirements or investor demand. What approvals have been reported?
Global Cement reported that shareholders at Dangote Cement’s 2 July 2026 annual general meeting approved pursuing an international listing. This reported shareholder mandate is not the same as regulatory clearance or completion. The company’s May disclosure said further approvals and final terms would be required, and that market conditions could affect the proposal. AGM and listing report; Issuer disclosure.

Company scale in context
Dangote Cement’s investor-relations page lists FY2025 group revenue of ₦4,306,704 million and total capacity of 55.0 million tonnes. Revenue is for the 2025 reporting period; capacity is not a measure of actual production. Neither figure establishes the valuation or proceeds of a potential London transaction.
