Do not treat the Cysic bridge as a routine transfer route right now. The Cysic Foundation suspended it after an attacker minted unauthorized CYS on BNB Chain and moved approximately $727,000 in proceeds to Ethereum. The reported incident involved 10 million unauthorized CYS; 2.8 million CYS remained restricted after blacklisting, according to The Block’s October 18, 2026 report.
The practical alternative depends on the asset and the exact source and destination chains. Use Stargate V2 for supported same-asset routes, Wormhole when you need broad multichain or Solana connectivity, Celer cBridge for a listed EVM route, and Circle’s CCTP when moving native USDC between Circle-supported chains. None of these services is a drop-in replacement for moving CYS unless its live interface explicitly supports CYS on both ends.

What happened to the Cysic bridge?
The bridge incident changes the first question from “Which route is cheapest?” to “Is the route currently operating and authorized?” The Block reported on October 18, 2026 that an attacker used the Cysic bridge to mint 10 million unauthorized CYS on BNB Chain, then moved proceeds worth approximately $727,000 to Ethereum. The Cysic Foundation suspended the bridge while it reviewed the incident. The report said 2.8 million CYS remained restricted after blacklisting.
That suspension means a transaction that worked previously may now be paused, delayed, or unavailable. A wallet interface showing a familiar token or route is not proof that the underlying contracts are safe or that a transfer will complete. Check an official status announcement and the bridge’s own interface immediately before signing anything.

An audit is not a live-safety guarantee
Cysic’s security page says its bridge audit covered message-passing, signature verification, replay protection, and cross-chain asset integrity. Those are important controls, but an audit describes the reviewed design and implementation at a point in time. It does not prove that a bridge is currently unpaused, that keys and administrators are uncompromised, or that a newly discovered exploit cannot affect operations.
Use the audit scope as background, not as a reason to bypass the current suspension or an incident warning. The same principle applies to every alternative: read its current status, confirm the exact route, and verify the token contract before approving a transaction.
What to do if you were using Cysic
If your transfer has not been signed
- Stop at the approval or confirmation screen.
- Close any tab or wallet prompt that asks you to “complete,” “reclaim,” or “unlock” a Cysic transfer through an unfamiliar domain.
- Check the Cysic Foundation’s incident or status notice using a source you already trust. Do not rely on a link sent through a direct message.
- Do not approve a replacement token, unlimited allowance, or emergency contract merely because it uses the Cysic name.
If a transaction is pending
- Record the source-chain transaction hash, token contract, amount, recipient address, and destination chain.
- Look up the transaction in the source-chain explorer and determine whether it is pending, reverted, or finalized.
- Do not submit a second transfer until you know whether the first transaction created a message or consumed an allowance. A second attempt can duplicate exposure.
- Use only an official recovery procedure published by the bridge operator. Never send funds to an address supplied by an unsolicited “support” account.
If you approved a Cysic contract
An approval gives a contract permission to spend a token; it is separate from the bridge transaction itself. If you no longer trust an approval, revoke it with a reputable allowance-management tool for the relevant chain, then verify the revoked allowance in the explorer. Revocation costs network gas and does not undo a transfer that has already finalized.
Move remaining assets to a fresh wallet only after checking that the device, seed phrase, and browser session are secure. Never paste a seed phrase into a website or support form.
Which alternative fits your transfer?
There is no universally safest bridge. The right choice depends on whether the destination must receive the same asset, whether the token must remain native, and which chains the provider currently supports.
| Alternative | Best fit | How the route works | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stargate V2 | Same-asset transfers across supported chains, especially stablecoins | Choose a supported route and an execution mode. “Taxi” executes immediately; “bus” batches transfers. | Bus can reduce gas but delay destination delivery. The quoted route still depends on destination execution and wallet confirmation. |
| Wormhole | Broad multichain coverage, Solana connectivity, and routes using wrapped or native tokens | Depending on the route, it can use Wrapped Token Transfer (WTT), Native Token Transfer (NTT), Connect, or relayer-assisted delivery. | Features are network-specific. WTT, NTT, CCTP integrations, and relayers are not available on every chain or asset. |
| Celer cBridge | A specific EVM route shown as available in the live cBridge interface | Select an asset and source/destination networks from the current route list. | Support is route- and token-specific. A token displayed on one network does not imply support on another. |
| Circle CCTP (USDC bridge) | Native USDC transfers where Circle supports both chains | Native USDC is burned on the source chain and minted on the destination chain. | It is USDC-specific. You need native gas on the source chain and must verify supported tokens, wallets, and blockchains. |
Stargate V2: a same-asset option with an explicit speed trade-off
Stargate V2 is most relevant when the destination should receive the same supported asset rather than a wrapped representation or a different asset acquired through a swap. Its documentation describes two execution modes:
Taxi mode
Taxi is the immediate mode. It is designed to execute the transfer without waiting for a batch. The destination receipt still requires the destination-chain transaction to execute and your wallet to reflect the balance; “immediate” does not mean that a block explorer, wallet interface, and application will update at exactly the same time.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsBus mode
Bus groups transfers for shared execution. Batching can reduce gas, but the destination delivery can take longer than Taxi. Select Bus only when the delay is acceptable and the interface shows a quote that remains valid for your transaction.
How to use Stargate V2 safely
- Open the official Stargate V2 interface from a bookmark or a verified project announcement.
- Select the source chain, destination chain, and token. Confirm that both networks are listed for that exact asset.
- Compare Taxi and Bus. Record the quoted receive amount, protocol fee, relayer or execution fee, estimated source gas, and any destination gas credit.
- Check the destination token symbol and contract address. A familiar symbol can represent a different contract on another chain.
- Approve only the amount you intend to transfer. Avoid an unlimited allowance when the wallet offers an exact-amount approval.
- Submit the bridge transaction, keep the source hash, and wait for the destination transaction or status record before starting another transfer.
Wormhole: broad coverage, but verify the exact token model
Wormhole is useful when a route needs multichain coverage or Solana connectivity, but its product names do not mean the same thing on every network. The available model can be Wrapped Token Transfer (WTT), Native Token Transfer (NTT), Connect, a relayer-assisted route, or an integration involving Circle’s CCTP.

Wrapped Token Transfer (WTT)
WTT moves a representation of an asset to the destination. The destination token may be a wrapped version rather than the original chain’s native asset. Before accepting a WTT route, verify the destination token contract, whether a decentralized exchange or lending application recognizes it, and how you would unwrap or redeem it later.
Native Token Transfer (NTT)
NTT is intended for tokens that maintain native deployments across supported networks. It can avoid creating a separate wrapped representation, but only when the token and both networks are explicitly enabled for NTT. Do not infer NTT support from a token’s name or from support on a different chain.

Connect and relayer services can simplify delivery, but the route may have additional execution or relayer fees. Review who submits the destination transaction, what happens if a relayer is delayed, and whether a manual completion step is available.
Wormhole security checks
Wormhole documentation describes controls including rate limiting, pausing, access control, and threshold attestations. Those controls reduce particular classes of risk; they do not eliminate the need to verify the current route and contract. A route can be technically supported yet temporarily paused or illiquid.
Celer cBridge: use it only for a confirmed live route
Celer cBridge is a practical choice when its live interface lists your exact EVM source chain, destination chain, and token. Oasis documentation lists ETH, USDC, USDT, WBTC, BNB, MATIC, OCEAN, and wROSE for documented networks that include Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Chain, and Oasis Sapphire. That documentation is not a promise that every listed asset is available on every pair or on the current day.
Preflight checks for cBridge
- Select the source and destination first, then inspect the asset list that remains available for that pair.
- Compare the displayed liquidity, minimum and maximum amounts, fee, and estimated receive amount.
- Confirm whether the destination asset is native, wrapped, or an application-specific representation.
- Check that you have source-chain gas for approval and the bridge transaction. Keep destination-chain gas available for later transfers or swaps.
- Test a small amount when the route is unfamiliar. A successful small transfer confirms mechanics, not long-term safety.
If a route does not appear in the live interface, do not force it by pasting a token address or interacting with an unverified contract. Unsupported routes can strand funds or create an asset that has no usable liquidity.
Circle CCTP: the native-USDC choice
Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol, commonly presented as a USDC bridge, is specialized rather than general-purpose. It burns native USDC on the source chain and mints native USDC on the destination chain when both networks are supported. This avoids the wrapped-USDC problem, but it does not move CYS, ETH, or arbitrary tokens.
Requirements
- Use native USDC, not an unrelated token with a similar symbol.
- Confirm that Circle supports both the source and destination blockchains for the route you selected.
- Use a wallet and application integration that supports the chosen CCTP version and route.
- Hold the source chain’s native gas token. Circle specifically says users must have gas on the source chain for the burn transaction.
- Reserve destination gas for a swap, transfer, or contract call after the USDC arrives.
When CCTP is preferable
Choose CCTP when your requirement is native USDC on both ends and the route is explicitly supported. Choose a different bridge when you need another token, a chain outside Circle’s support set, or a route that requires a wrapped asset.
Can you bridge CYS after the exploit?
Do not assume that CYS can be moved through Stargate, Wormhole, cBridge, or CCTP. The incident involved unauthorized CYS minted on BNB Chain, while the alternatives above have their own asset and network allowlists. A bridge that supports CYS on one network may not support it on another, and a similarly named token may be counterfeit.

Verification checklist for a CYS route
- Obtain the official CYS contract addresses from a verified Cysic communication or a well-established chain explorer. Do not copy an address from a search advertisement or social-media reply.
- Check that the bridge interface itself lists CYS, the exact source chain, and the exact destination chain.
- Compare the token’s contract address shown in the route with the address in your wallet and explorer.
- Read the bridge’s incident, pause, and support notices. If the route is paused, wait for an official reopening notice rather than using a “manual unlock” service.
- Send a small test amount only after all checks pass, and confirm the destination token contract before sending the remainder.
If no established bridge lists the route, the safest action is to hold the asset until the issuer publishes a supported recovery or transfer path. A decentralized exchange swap is not a bridge: it may expose you to price impact, counterfeit tokens, and insufficient liquidity.

1. Define the exact outcome
Write down the source chain, destination chain, token symbol, token contract, amount, and the form you need at the destination. “USDC on Ethereum” and “a wrapped dollar token on Ethereum” are different outcomes.
2. Check operational status
Look for a current pause, incident, maintenance notice, or liquidity warning. A previous successful transfer is not evidence that the route is available now.
3. Confirm route support in the interface
Choose the chains and token from the provider’s menus instead of typing an address into an unsupported field. If the route disappears after you choose one side, treat it as unsupported.

4. Calculate the complete cost
Include source gas, bridge or protocol fees, relayer fees, destination gas or gas-drop charges, and any swap fee or slippage. Compare the amount you will receive, not just the headline fee. Network congestion can change gas estimates between the quote and signing.
5. Inspect approvals and transaction data
Approve the exact amount where possible. Expand the wallet transaction details and confirm the spender contract, token, amount, destination chain, and recipient. Reject a request that asks for a seed phrase, private key, or unrelated asset.
6. Send a test transfer
For a new route, use an amount small enough to tolerate a delay or recovery process. Wait for source finality and destination delivery before increasing the amount.
7. Verify the destination independently
Check the destination explorer for the transaction and token contract. If the wallet balance does not update, add the verified token contract manually rather than accepting a token suggested by a pop-up.

| Question | Why it matters | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
| Who validates cross-chain messages? | A forged or incorrectly authorized message can create or release assets. | Threshold attestations, validator sets, multisignature controls, and documented verification rules. |
| Who can pause or upgrade contracts? | Administrative powers can stop a route or change its behavior. | Published roles, timelocks where applicable, emergency pause procedures, and current incident notices. |
| Is liquidity required? | A transfer can be technically valid yet fail or become expensive if the destination pool lacks liquidity. | Available liquidity, transfer limits, queue status, and the provider’s handling of delayed delivery. |
| Is a relayer involved? | Relayers may submit destination transactions and add fees or operational dependencies. | Relayer fee, delivery timeout, retry process, and whether manual completion is possible. |
| What token arrives? | Wrapped and native assets have different redemption, liquidity, and application support. | Destination contract address, token standard, issuer, and whether major applications recognize it. |
Wormhole documents rate limiting, pausing, access control, and threshold attestations. Stargate exposes a Taxi-versus-Bus execution choice. Circle CCTP uses a native USDC burn-and-mint model. Celer cBridge requires route-level verification. These are different designs, so comparing only fee percentages is misleading.
Speed, finality, and the meaning of “instant”
A bridge transfer has several milestones: the source transaction is accepted, the source chain reaches sufficient finality, a message or liquidity action is processed, and a destination transaction is confirmed. A provider may describe one of those steps as instant while the complete wallet-to-wallet result still takes longer.
- Source confirmation: Your wallet must first submit and confirm the approval or transfer.
- Message or liquidity processing: Validators, a protocol, or a relayer must recognize the source event.
- Destination execution: The destination chain must accept and confirm the delivery transaction.
- Wallet display: Your wallet may require a refresh or the verified token contract before showing the balance.
Stargate’s Taxi and Bus modes make one portion of this trade-off visible. For every provider, keep enough time and gas for destination confirmation rather than planning around a marketing label.

Common failure modes and fixes
The route is unavailable
Check whether the provider paused the asset, reached a transfer limit, or disabled one chain. Do not substitute a token with a similar symbol. If the route is not listed, use an explicitly supported route or wait for an official status change.
The source transaction succeeded but funds have not arrived
Confirm source finality, copy the transaction hash into the provider’s official status page, and check whether a destination transaction exists. Avoid repeated submissions. If a manual completion process is documented, use only the official contract and instructions.
The destination shows the wrong token
Compare the destination contract address with the route quote. A wrapped token may be expected; a different address or an unverified issuer is not. Do not approve another transaction to “convert” it until you identify the asset.
The quote changed before signing
Refresh the quote and recalculate total cost. Changes can result from gas prices, liquidity, exchange rates, or a quote expiry. Never sign a stale wallet prompt simply because you already prepared the transfer.

Save the revert reason and transaction hash. Check whether gas was consumed, whether an approval was required, and whether the route is paused. A reverted source transaction normally requires a new quote; it does not justify interacting with an unknown recovery contract.
A support account asks for a private key
Stop communicating with it. Legitimate bridge support does not need your seed phrase or private key. Report the account through the platform where it contacted you and use the provider’s published support channel.
Decision guide
- Moving supported same-asset stablecoins or another same-asset token: Compare Stargate V2 Taxi and Bus quotes, then select the mode that matches your urgency and gas budget.
- Need Solana or broad multichain connectivity: Check Wormhole first, then identify whether the route uses WTT, NTT, Connect, or a relayer and what token representation arrives.
- Using a listed EVM pair and an asset shown by cBridge: Verify the exact route, limits, liquidity, and destination contract in the live interface.
- Moving native USDC: Use Circle CCTP when both chains and your wallet integration are supported and you have source-chain gas.
- Moving CYS: Do not assume any alternative supports it. Wait for an officially listed, operational route and verify the contract address; if none exists, do not improvise with an unverified bridge.
Questions to answer before you click “Confirm”
Can I name the exact destination token contract? Is the route currently operational? What will I pay in source gas, bridge fees, relayer fees, destination gas, and slippage? Who can pause or upgrade the contracts? What happens if the destination transaction is delayed? Do I have the destination gas needed to use the received asset? If any answer is unclear, stop and resolve it before signing.
