Does Cyberpunk 2077 have cheat codes?

“Is there a cheat console /dev mode?”
That wording describes a recurring community question, not proof that a hidden mode exists. In the unmodified game, there is no officially established /dev menu. With CET installed, a PC player can use the framework’s console, subject to the framework’s own compatibility and the current game build.
How to use CET commands responsibly on PC
- Confirm the platform. CET applies to the PC version. Do not follow a CET command guide for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch 2, or Mac and assume it will work there.
- Match versions before installing anything. CET documentation says many commands changed with game version 2.0. Use the framework release and command references that correspond to your Cyberpunk 2077 build.
- Read the current command reference. CET’s Useful commands page points to commands for different game versions. Commands are case-sensitive, so capitalization and punctuation must match the documentation.
- Back up your saves. Keep a copy of important saves before experimenting with scripts or engine functions. A command’s presence in a community list is not a guarantee that it is harmless to an existing save.

How weapon tiers and crafting work
Weapon improvement is an in-game progression system, not a cheat. CD PROJEKT RED’s crafting and upgrading guidance describes item quality from Tier 1 through Tier 5++, with Crafting Specs and components forming the resource loop.
Upgrade an Iconic weapon
- Open the character menu and enter Crafting.
- Select the Upgrades tab.
- Choose an Iconic weapon that appears in the upgrade list.
- Review the next Tier and the component requirement shown by the game.
- Confirm the upgrade only when you have the necessary materials and want to spend them on that weapon.
The important limitation is the resource requirement: an Iconic does not become stronger for free. You can advance it to the next Tier only when the required components are available. If the upgrade is unavailable, the usual causes are insufficient components, an item that has already reached the applicable Tier, or a version-specific change in how the menu presents the item.

Where Specs and components come from
- Crafting Specs: found as loot or purchased from vendors.
- Components: found as loot or obtained by disassembling items of the corresponding Tier.
- Tier range: the support guidance covers Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, Tier 4, Tier 5, and Tier 5++ quality.
This creates a loop: collect or buy a Spec when you need to craft, gather the matching Tier’s components, and disassemble unwanted gear when that is the most practical way to fill a shortage. Selling every spare item can leave you with money but not the components required for the next Iconic upgrade.
Why older weapon guides may disagree with your menus
Update 2.0 made broad changes to perks, cyberware, vehicle combat, police response, rewards, items, and crafting. A guide written before that overhaul may show different costs, menu labels, or progression assumptions. Treat screenshots and build advice from the pre-2.0 era as historical unless they match your current version.
CD PROJEKT RED’s Update 2.3 patch notes, dated July 16, 2025, include a fix for automatic weapons firing slower than intended, along with other gameplay and platform changes. That matters when an older guide describes weapon feel or timing, but the notes do not establish a single best gun or a universal damage ranking.

Choosing weapons without a fabricated “best gun” list
No official source here supplies a complete location-by-location weapon walkthrough, exact Iconic locations, missable-item rules, or reliable damage comparisons. A responsible build decision therefore starts with how you play rather than an unverified tier list.

A CET command does nothing
- Check spelling and capitalization; CET commands are case-sensitive.
- Verify that the command belongs to your game version, especially if you are on a 2.0-or-later build.
- Confirm that CET itself loaded successfully and is compatible with your current executable.
- Try the command in a test save with other mods temporarily disabled.
The console or menu is missing
First determine whether you are on PC. CET is not a built-in feature for console editions. On PC, a missing console usually indicates an installation, load-order, or compatibility issue; use CET’s current documentation instead of assuming the game has a hidden keyboard shortcut.

An Iconic weapon cannot be upgraded
- Open Crafting and select Upgrades to see the game’s current requirement.
- Check whether you have components of the required Tier.

A weapon feels weaker than an older video suggests
Compare the video’s publication date and patch with your game. The 2.0 overhaul and later fixes, including the Update 2.3 automatic-fire correction, can make old handling or timing observations unreliable.

CD PROJEKT RED announced the downloadable Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition Game Booklet on December 20, 2023.
