You play a newcomer who starts helping Mia at Comfy Corner. The premise is summarized by Eastasiasoft as: “Brew the perfect cup, get to know your customers and uncover a conspiracy brewing beneath the streets of futuristic London.” That sentence describes the three activities the announced material emphasizes: preparing drinks, learning about people, and following the larger mystery.
The game is not currently available on Steam. Eastasiasoft announced a Steam launch for the 2026 holiday season and console versions for 2027 in its 15 October 2026 press material. The publisher’s game page instead lists an Early 2027 release and names PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Treat those as announced windows and platforms, not a guaranteed date; the listings are not fully aligned and release plans can change.

Official descriptions establish four connected systems. The exact interface, difficulty, and branch thresholds have not been documented, so the safest way to understand the loop is by what each system is confirmed to do.
1. Talk to customers and choose responses
Steam labels Cup of Tales as a choice-based game. During conversations, you select dialogue options rather than merely advancing through fixed text. Eastasiasoft says those choices can build meaningful relationships and bring unlikely friends together. Customers are therefore more than sources of exposition: the conversations are the mechanism through which their personal stories and connections develop.
The published descriptions confirm consequences at the relationship and story-connection level. They do not publish a chart showing which response produces which result, a list of hidden statistics, or a universal “correct” answer. A choice that helps one relationship could change how another customer’s story intersects with it; the official material does not identify exact thresholds or guarantee that any single reply is optimal.

Coffee making is gameplay, not just café decoration. You select ingredients, use the available equipment, and time actions to brew drinks. The timing element means preparation is described as an active mechanic rather than a menu selection that resolves automatically.
The available information does not specify the timing windows, failure penalties, recipe list, input method, or whether a drink can be remade after a mistake. Those details should not be assumed from the premise. What is established is the sequence: choose the ingredients, operate café equipment, and perform the actions with the required timing while serving the story’s customers.

3. Upgrade the kitchen
Kitchen upgrades expand what the café can do. According to the publisher, upgrades unlock new ingredients, recipes, and equipment. This creates a practical progression loop: as the café develops, the range of drinks and tools available for later service grows.
No official list gives the cost, order, level requirements, or number of upgrades. It is also not confirmed whether upgrades are permanent across a playthrough, tied to chapters, or selected from a branching tree. Until a manual or released build documents those rules, the reliable takeaway is limited to the unlocks themselves: ingredients, recipes, and equipment.

4. Follow a 10-chapter story
Eastasiasoft describes a 10-chapter structure. Across those chapters, individual customer stories intertwine, clues accumulate, and the CypherCorp mystery is gradually revealed. The chapter count is an official figure, but a chapter-by-chapter synopsis, average chapter length, and replay structure have not been published.
This structure suggests a gradual investigation rather than a single mystery scene: ordinary café conversations establish people and their problems, while later connections provide context for the conspiracy. That is an interpretation of the announced structure, not a claim about undisclosed scenes or mandatory events.
Do choices change the ending?
Choices definitely affect relationships and the way customer stories connect. The official descriptions do not yet state exactly how those consequences map to the finale. They do not identify a fixed “good” route, a bad route, relationship-point thresholds, or a complete ending list.

For now, the most defensible description is that your decisions can produce different relationship outcomes, reveal more or less of the conspiracy, and develop different community connections. Those are the comparison axes supported by the announced design. It would be inaccurate to promise that every dialogue option creates a separate ending, or to claim that a particular sequence is required for the best result.
How many endings does Cup of Tales have?
An exact Cup of Tales ending count has not been published. Official Cup of Tales materials describe choice-driven relationships and an unfolding conspiracy, but they do not give a number of endings or a route-by-route guide.
Be careful with a commonly repeated “seven endings” figure. The secondary article that mentions seven endings is discussing the separately described horror game YAMIGATARI: FOR3ST, not Cup of Tales. That number cannot be transferred to this café adventure.
Until Eastasiasoft publishes an ending guide or the released version can be verified, any precise number should be treated as speculation. A future guide may be able to map finales by relationship state, discovered clues, or community links, but those conditions are not documented yet.
What should you do when a choice appears?
Because no official route chart exists, approach choices as role-playing decisions rather than a puzzle with a known answer key.

- Read the customer’s context. Responses are presented within personal stories, so consider what the speaker has disclosed before selecting an option.
- Decide which relationships you want to develop. The announced consequences center on meaningful relationships and connections among customers, not on a published morality meter.
- Track the clues you have heard. The 10-chapter structure is built around accumulating clues and gradually revealing the CypherCorp mystery. A simple personal note can help you remember names, claims, and unresolved questions.
- Do not assume there is a reversible answer. Steam Cloud is listed, but the developers have not confirmed a reload-before-choice feature or manual save slots. Make an important decision only when you are comfortable proceeding without a documented undo.
How coffee preparation and upgrades fit the story
The café systems are connected to the narrative rather than being separate decoration. Serving customers requires ingredients, equipment, and timed actions; improving the kitchen unlocks more of those tools. The result is a loop in which customer encounters create the reason to serve drinks, while café progression broadens the preparation options available as the 10 chapters advance.
It is not yet known whether a failed brew changes a relationship, merely requires a retry, or affects a separate score. No published source states that recipes are tied to particular endings, that equipment choices lock routes, or that every ingredient must be collected. Those are common possibilities in café games, but they are not confirmed Cup of Tales mechanics.
What can be said with confidence is that upgrades have three named effects:
- They unlock new ingredients.
- They unlock new recipes.
- They unlock new equipment.
If you are choosing how to prioritize upgrades once the game releases, look for the actual in-game descriptions and note whether an item expands drink variety, changes timing, or opens a new preparation action. The public announcements do not provide enough information to recommend an optimal order.

Steam lists Steam Cloud among Cup of Tales’ features. That indicates cloud synchronization support on Steam, allowing supported save data to synchronize through the Steam account. The listing alone does not explain how many files are retained, when synchronization occurs, or how conflicts are handled.

The official game page and press release do not specify the rest of the save system. In particular, there is no confirmed information about manual-save slots, autosave timing, chapter checkpoints, chapter replay, or whether you can reload immediately before a dialogue branch.

What Steam Cloud does and does not guarantee
Steam Cloud should be understood as synchronization, not as a promise of unlimited rollback. It does not by itself confirm multiple manual slots, branching snapshots, or a way to recover every earlier decision. If you move between Steam devices, wait for synchronization to finish and check which local or cloud file Steam identifies as current. The game’s own instructions will be the authority on conflict prompts and file management once available.
On consoles, the Steam Cloud listing does not apply. The announced PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox versions may use their platforms’ own save systems, but the publisher has not described their behavior. Do not assume that a console version will offer the same slots, backup method, or cross-platform transfer as the Steam release.

Steam currently marks the game as not yet available. There is therefore no released build on which to verify the ending count, save behavior, upgrade economy, or exact coffee timing. Availability dates should be checked against the current store listing and publisher announcements because the two published PC windows differ.
What remains unknown before launch
A useful guide should separate announced features from details that still require a released build or developer documentation. The following points are not established:
- The number of endings and the exact conditions for reaching each one.
- Whether every dialogue choice has a visible or hidden relationship value.
- Which customer connections are mutually exclusive, if any.
- The complete ingredient, recipe, and equipment catalog.
