Short answer: Nintendo currently lists Cult of the Lamb as supported on Nintendo Switch 2, but its store information does not document a Cult of the Lamb Nintendo Switch 2 Edition or say that an upgrade pack includes every DLC item. DLC you already bought digitally should remain available to redownload at no cost when you use the Nintendo Account that purchased it. That entitlement is different from receiving DLC you never purchased.
What Nintendo currently lists for Cult of the Lamb on Switch 2
Nintendo’s official store page lists the Nintendo Switch version of Cult of the Lamb as “Supported – Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch.” That is a compatibility designation. It confirms that the Switch release is supported on Switch 2, but it does not by itself describe a separate Switch 2 version, an enhanced upgrade pack, or a new entitlement bundle.

The same Nintendo catalog treats the game’s downloadable content as separate products. The listed products include Woolhaven, Unholy Pack Bundle, Pilgrim Pack, Cultist Pack, Heretic Pack, Sinful Pack, and combinations of those packs. A separate product listing means Nintendo is identifying the DLC individually; it is not evidence that every item is automatically part of a Switch 2 upgrade.
| Question | What is established | What that means for your purchase |
|---|---|---|
| Is the Switch game supported on Switch 2? | Nintendo labels it “Supported – Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch.” | The existing Switch release is listed as compatible. |
| Is there a documented Cult of the Lamb Switch 2 Edition? | No title-specific Switch 2 Edition or upgrade-pack description is identified in Nintendo’s current listing. | Do not assume a separate enhanced edition exists or is being sold. |
| Are the DLC products listed separately? | Yes. Woolhaven, the named packs, and bundle combinations appear as individual downloadable products. | Check the status of each DLC item rather than treating “the DLC” as one universal package. |
| Is the upgrade price stated? | No title-specific upgrade price is stated in the available official information. | Do not rely on claims that the upgrade is free or paid until the eShop shows the current terms. |
How Nintendo defines a Switch 2 Edition
Nintendo’s general Switch 2 guidance says a Switch 2 Edition combines the original Nintendo Switch game with an upgrade pack. The upgrade pack can enhance a game for Switch 2, but Nintendo also says that the contents vary by game. That general policy cannot be used to infer what Cult of the Lamb’s upgrade contains when a title-specific upgrade description is absent.
#1 Best Overall
- Start your own cult in a land of false prophets
- Venture out into diverse and mysterious regions to build a loyal community of woodland Followers
- Repay your debt by building a loyal following
- Spread your Word to become the one true cult!
In practical terms, there are three different things that are easy to confuse:
- Compatibility: the existing Switch game runs on Switch 2. This is what Nintendo’s current Cult of the Lamb listing explicitly confirms.
- An upgrade pack: a game-specific add-on that may provide enhancements. Nintendo’s policy explains the concept but does not establish that Cult of the Lamb has one.
- DLC ownership: digital add-on content already purchased by a Nintendo Account. Nintendo’s digital-content guidance addresses redownloading that content, separately from the contents of an upgrade pack.
Until Nintendo or Massive Monster publishes title-specific entitlement language, these categories should remain separate. A compatibility label is not a promise that all DLC is bundled, and an upgrade pack—if one is later announced—is not automatically the same thing as a complete edition.
Will DLC you already bought transfer to Switch 2?
Nintendo’s digital-content support guidance says previously purchased digital games and DLC can be redownloaded at no cost when the Nintendo Account that owns them is used. When the eShop or Virtual Game Cards shows redownload language for a DLC item, that indicates the item was purchased by that account and is available to download again.

- Build your flock: Collect and use resources to build new structures, perform dark rituals to appease the gods, and give sermons to reinforce the faith of your flock.
- Destroy the non-believers: Explore a sprawling, randomly generated world, fight off hordes of enemies and defeat rival cult leaders in order to absorb their power and assert your cult's dominance.
- Spread the word: Train your flock and embark on a quest to explore and discover the secrets of five mysterious regions. Cleanse the non-believers, spread enlightenment and perform mystical rituals on the journey to become the mighty lamb god.
For an owner of Cult of the Lamb, the practical expectation is therefore account-based access to digital DLC already purchased. If Woolhaven, Pilgrim Pack, Cultist Pack, Heretic Pack, Sinful Pack, or another listed item was bought on your Nintendo Account, sign in with that same account on Switch 2 and look for the item’s redownload option. You should not need to buy an already-owned digital entitlement a second time merely because you are using the newer console.
That rule answers a narrower question than “does the upgrade include DLC?” Redownload access means you retain an item you bought. It does not mean an upgrade gives you Woolhaven or any other pack you never purchased. It also does not establish that an unowned DLC bundle is included in a future Switch 2 Edition.
Woolhaven as a specific example
Massive Monster describes Woolhaven as “a brand new story expansion DLC for Cult of the Lamb, available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation.” The expansion released on January 27, 2026. Its availability on Nintendo Switch confirms that it is a Switch DLC product, but the description does not say that a Switch 2 upgrade includes it for free or grants it to owners of the base game.

How to check your entitlement on Switch 2
Use the following process before paying for anything again. The labels can change as Nintendo updates its software, but the relevant checks are the account, the title listing, and the redownload status.
Recommended Free Tools
- Sign in with the owning Nintendo Account. Use the account that originally purchased the digital copy of Cult of the Lamb or its DLC. Nintendo’s redownload rule is tied to that purchasing account, not simply to the console.
- Open Nintendo eShop on Switch 2. Search for Cult of the Lamb and open the Nintendo Switch game listing. Confirm that the listing identifies the release you own and shows its current Switch 2 support information.
- Open the DLC area. Review the individual products rather than searching only for a generic “complete” label. Look for Woolhaven, Unholy Pack Bundle, Pilgrim Pack, Cultist Pack, Heretic Pack, Sinful Pack, and any bundle combination relevant to your purchase.
- Check for redownload or Virtual Game Card language. If Nintendo identifies a DLC item as owned and offers redownload, that is the platform’s indication that the same account purchased it. Download the item without purchasing it again.
- Compare owned and unowned items. An item marked for purchase is not part of your existing entitlement, even if another game listing or bundle mentions it. Only the items tied to your account should be treated as already owned.
- Read the purchase screen immediately before confirming. If Nintendo presents an upgrade pack, bundle, or edition, check whether the description names the base game, specific DLC, and any upgrade contents. Save the displayed price and included-products wording for your records.
What happens in common ownership scenarios
| Your situation | What the current information supports | What you still need to verify |
|---|---|---|
| You own the digital base game and digital DLC on one Nintendo Account. | Use that account to look for no-cost redownload access to the purchased game and DLC. | Whether Nintendo offers any separate Cult of the Lamb upgrade pack and what it contains. |
| You bought Woolhaven digitally. | Woolhaven is a Nintendo Switch DLC product, and previously purchased digital DLC should be redownloadable through the owning account. | Whether a future edition bundles Woolhaven for people who did not buy it. |
| You own the base game but never bought a DLC pack. | You should not treat that unpurchased pack as part of your account entitlement. | Any bundle price or promotional inclusion shown on the current eShop page. |
| You are using a different Nintendo Account on Switch 2. | Nintendo’s redownload guidance points to the account that made the purchase. | Which account owns the item; check the account’s purchase and Virtual Game Card information before buying again. |
| You see only the compatibility label and no upgrade offer. | The existing Switch release is supported on Switch 2. | Do not infer an upgrade price, performance enhancement, or DLC bundle from compatibility alone. |
| You want to move progress or other data. | The cited Nintendo guidance establishes digital game and DLC redownload rights. | Save-data transfer and other non-DLC data are separate questions and are not established by the entitlement wording described here. |
Is the Switch 2 upgrade free?
No official title-specific price or free-upgrade statement is established for Cult of the Lamb in the current information. Nintendo’s general policy explains what a Switch 2 Edition can contain, but it does not set one universal price or make every compatible Switch game eligible for a free upgrade.
Consequently, statements that “the upgrade is definitely free” should be treated as unconfirmed unless the Cult of the Lamb eShop page or an announcement from Nintendo or Massive Monster states the price and eligibility. A free redownload of DLC you already purchased is not the same as a free upgrade pack, and neither is the same as receiving DLC you never owned.

Physical copies, digital copies, and platform boundaries
The no-cost redownload language concerns digital purchases associated with a Nintendo Account. If your copy of Cult of the Lamb is physical, the available information does not specify how a particular cartridge or retail package is handled on Switch 2 beyond the game’s supported compatibility status. Check the current Nintendo listing and the instructions supplied with your copy rather than assuming that physical ownership creates the same account record as a digital DLC purchase.
Woolhaven being available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation also does not establish cross-platform ownership. A purchase made on one platform should not be presumed to unlock the Nintendo Switch version unless the platform holder and publisher explicitly state that arrangement. The Nintendo Account redownload rule applies to Nintendo digital entitlements.

Why the wording matters
“All purchased content carries over” can refer to at least two different outcomes. The first is preservation of entitlements: items you bought remain attached to your account and can be downloaded again. Nintendo’s digital-content guidance supports that interpretation for previously purchased digital games and DLC when the owning account is used.

The second is an upgrade bundle: a new product grants every DLC item, including packs the customer never purchased. The current Cult of the Lamb listing does not document that arrangement. Treating the two meanings as interchangeable can lead to paying for an unnecessary duplicate or assuming that an unowned expansion is included when it is not.
Checklist before you buy or redownload
- Confirm which Nintendo Account made the original purchase.
- Open the Cult of the Lamb listing on Switch 2, not a third-party summary.
- Check whether the page says only “Supported” or identifies a named Switch 2 Edition and upgrade pack.
- Review each DLC product separately, including Woolhaven and the named cosmetic or content packs.
- Use Virtual Game Cards or the eShop’s redownload wording to identify items already owned.
- Do not pay again for an item that the owning account already marks as available to redownload.
- Do not assume that a pack you never purchased is included in an upgrade.
- Read the displayed price, included-content list, and account requirements immediately before confirming a transaction.
Bottom line for Cult of the Lamb owners
As of October 18, 2026, Nintendo confirms Switch 2 support for the existing Cult of the Lamb Switch release, while its listing continues to present DLC as separate products. Nintendo’s platform guidance supports no-cost redownload of digital DLC you already bought through the same Nintendo Account. It does not establish a Cult of the Lamb-specific upgrade price, a free upgrade, or automatic inclusion of every DLC item. Verify the title-specific eShop wording before purchasing, and distinguish your existing account entitlements from DLC that would be new to you.
