- Open the Follower list or select the sick Follower in the settlement.
- Open the interaction menu and choose Bed Rest.

Option 2: use the Healing Bay

Illness prevention is mostly settlement management. Keep toilets usable, remove poop and vomit as soon as they appear, and keep food preparation and storage areas clean. Food effects and certain events can also trigger sickness. Reserve Camellias before activities that can affect many Followers at once, especially the Brainwashing Ritual: the reference warns that widespread illness can follow it, particularly when the Belief in Prohibition doctrine is active.

- With the Follower in Prison, choose Re-educate.
- Repeat Re-educate each day. One interaction may not be enough; the number of days depends on the severity of the dissent.
- When the dissent state clears, release the Follower and assign a normal task only after their basic needs and loyalty have been restored.
Prison prevents the dissenter from working against the cult or recruiting more dissent while you work through the meter. Re-education is the dependable route because it does not rely on a random food outcome.
Repair the reason faith fell
Prison handles the immediate threat, but it does not repair the conditions that caused low faith. While re-education is running, check the rest of the settlement:

- Send them to bed. If the menu offers Bed Rest, assign it so recovery takes priority over chores.

The sick Follower is not recovering
Confirm that Bed Rest was actually assigned and that another work command did not replace it. If the Follower is still sick and you have Camellias, use the Healing Bay for the immediate cure. Then clean nearby vomit, feces, and other contamination; otherwise a second illness can appear and make it seem as though the first cure failed.
The dissenter keeps spreading complaints
Check that the Follower is inside Prison and that you are selecting Re-educate rather than only opening the prison menu. Re-education is repeated daily and may take several in-game days. While waiting, restore food, hygiene, sickness treatment, and faith so the original cause is not affecting additional Followers.
An exhausted Follower is needed for a mission
