Move the kettle briefly with the memory feature
The manufacturer describes a memory function that lets you lift the kettle from the base for up to two minutes without losing the selected setting. This is useful when you need to pour at a counter away from the socket and then return the kettle to its base. Safety features and sensible operating habits
The P1 listing includes automatic shutoff and boil-dry protection, while its heating element is concealed. Those features reduce common operating risks, but they do not replace normal kettle precautions.
- Place the base on a dry, stable surface before connecting power.
- Keep the electrical connector and the underside of the kettle dry.
- Do not operate the appliance empty; boil-dry protection is a safeguard, not an invitation to test the kettle without water.
- Use the handle when moving the kettle and avoid touching hot water, steam or the lid area immediately after a cycle.

Cleaning, scale control and replacement parts
Scale filter
The P1 has a removable, cleanable scale filter. Mineral deposits can accumulate faster in hard-water areas, so inspect the filter when pouring becomes visibly obstructed or deposits are apparent. Because the heating element is concealed, there is no exposed coil to scrub. Keep water and cleaning products out of the base and electrical connector. Wipe the exterior and handle with a method approved by the manual; do not immerse the base.
Parts compatibility
Cuisinart’s P1 product page lists a replacement base and a scale filter. That confirms that those categories of parts are offered for the P1 listing, not that they fit a CPK-17A or CPK-17C.
