Oliver “kzy” Heck has been made permanently ineligible by the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) after its investigation into four Roman Imperium Cup VII matches. Reports linked those games to a roughly $57,000 accumulator with a potential return above $4.5 million, but the wager was reportedly voided and no source establishes that Heck placed it or received money.

What ESIC decided

ESIC announced on October 15, 2026 that it had completed final disciplinary proceedings against five NOMERCY players. The decisions, dated September 17, 2026, replaced provisional suspensions imposed on April 23, 2026.

Heck, who played under the name kzy, received lifetime ineligibility with no fixed expiry. The other four players received fixed bans:

ESIC’s finding is a disciplinary conclusion by the esports regulator. It should not be read as a criminal-court judgment, and the commission’s notice does not identify the bettor.

Which matches were investigated?

The case covered four best-of-one matches played on March 28, 2026, during Roman Imperium Cup VII. NOMERCY faced BetBoom Team, Sangal Esports, BESTIA and Wildcard.

ESIC said betting intelligence identified a structured combination wager targeting a −9.5 round handicap across all four games. According to ESIC, every result matched the targeted outcome. Dexerto reported the scorelines as 13-0, 13-3, 13-1 and 13-1, leaving NOMERCY with five rounds won across the four maps.

What happened to the reported $4.5 million bet?

RTP Arena described the alleged wager as a $57,000 bet for a return above $4.5 million. Dexerto likewise reported a roughly $57,000 accumulator with more than $4.5 million potentially riding on the four results.

That figure was a potential return, not confirmed winnings. RTP Arena’s April 2, 2026 update said the bookmaker voided the bet, citing an update confirmed by tournament organizers. The available reporting does not establish that kzy personally placed the wager, owned it, or collected any payout. It is therefore inaccurate to say that he won $4.5 million.

Why did ESIC impose a lifetime ban on kzy?

ESIC said its findings against Heck included match manipulation, corrupt in-game incidents and facilitation of corrupt conduct. It also found failures to comply with cooperation duties during the investigation.

The commission identified several factors that made his case more serious. Heck held a central leadership and calling role, was involved in veto decisions, and had repeated gameplay involvement in the matches under review. ESIC also described his response as complete non-cooperation. Those factors, taken together, led to lifetime ineligibility rather than a fixed-term suspension.

ESIC did not say that one missed shot, one unusual transaction or one message proved manipulation. The sanction notice states that the decision rested on the combined evidence and its limitations.

What evidence did ESIC consider?

The commission said it reviewed:

  • A Runestone Data Partner Report and full-match gameplay footage.
  • Supplementary player-specific analysis.
  • Roster information and communications.
  • Financial material supplied during the proceedings.
  • Responses from the participants.

ESIC’s description of repeated issues with trading, utility use, positioning and decision-making was part of that broader package. The commission expressly cautioned that no isolated gameplay error, financial transaction or communication was treated as determinative by itself.

Does the ban stop coaching, analysis or management?

Yes. Heck’s ESIC ineligibility is broader than a ban from competing as an active player. ESIC says the sanctions prohibit participation in any capacity in matches, events or activities that are authorized, organized, sanctioned, recognized or supported by ESIC or an ESIC member.
