The reward is Sparkly Boots, a cosmetic Add-On that makes Lea leave star sparkles while running and play a shimmering sound when she jumps. It does not replace stat-bearing leg equipment, and the available references do not prove identical behavior on every platform.
What the Sparkly Boots code unlocks
WoN-Boots is the code listed for Sparkly Boots. CrossCode reference material describes bonus codes as small in-game bonuses entered from the main menu, rather than as cheats that alter combat statistics or unlock a separate campaign.

The reward is visual. When the Add-On is active, Lea emits star-shaped sparkles as she runs, and a shimmering sound plays when she jumps. These effects are intended as a novelty cosmetic: they do not provide a documented damage increase, movement boost, defensive effect, quest shortcut, or other gameplay advantage.

Sparkly Boots is now handled by the Add-On system. You can use the visual effect independently of the equipment occupying the character’s leg-equipment slot.

How to enter the code
The sources establish the menu location but do not document one universal sequence of controller buttons for every release. Use the following platform-neutral procedure:
- Launch CrossCode and remain at the main menu.
- Open the menu option for bonus codes.
- Enter
WoN-Bootswith the capitalization and hyphen shown. - Confirm the entry using the prompt displayed by your edition.
- Load your save and open the inventory or Add-On area to locate the cosmetic.
A successful entry should award the Add-On to the save rather than equip ordinary footwear. If the game accepts the code but you cannot see an immediate change, check the Add-On inventory and enable Sparkly Boots there. A community guide describes toggling the effect from the inventory’s Add-On section, but that older instruction should be treated as a practical reference, not as an officially documented menu path for every platform.
Why the main-menu step matters
Bonus-code entry is associated with the title screen, not with a password box inside a loaded map. If you are searching the pause menu and cannot find a code field, return to the main menu without overwriting your save and look for the bonus-code option there. The exact wording and placement can vary by release, so follow the labels shown by your copy.

How to enable and use Sparkly Boots
Entering a code and wearing its effect are separate actions under the current system. Once the reward has been added:
- Open the character inventory after loading your save.
- Navigate to the section that lists Add-Ons.
- Find Sparkly Boots in the cosmetic list.
- Toggle it on, then return to the game.
Run in a safe area to look for the star particles and jump once to hear the shimmering effect. If you are testing in a busy scene, move away from other visual effects and lower the game’s audio only after confirming that your system volume is on; otherwise a working sound cue can be mistaken for a failed unlock.
The effect is cosmetic, so changing your equipped leg armor should not be necessary. You can retain equipment chosen for its statistics while using the Add-On for appearance and sound.

Why Sparkly Boots is called an Add-On now
Older CrossCode terminology treated appearance-changing items such as Sparkling Boots as equipment. Radical Fish Games explained in a July 1, 2018 update that items including “Holiday Hat” and “Sparkling Boots” were converted to “Add-Ons” so players could wear them at any time without using outdated equipment. In practical terms, the visual reward was separated from the slot that carries combat-related attributes.
This history explains several apparent contradictions in older walkthroughs. A guide may call the reward footwear, describe it as an equipment item, or tell you to replace your leg gear. Those instructions reflect the former model. Current references identify Sparkly Boots as a step-effect Add-On, and the independent Add-On slot is the relevant place to manage it.
Equipment versus Add-On
| Question | Sparkly Boots Add-On | Stat-bearing leg equipment |
|---|---|---|
| Primary purpose | Visual particles and a jump sound | Character attributes and combat values |
| Consumes the leg-equipment slot | No | Yes |
| Changes Lea’s running or jumping presentation | Yes, when enabled | Not established for this code |
| Documented gameplay advantage | None | Depends on the selected equipment |
Platform availability and what is not confirmed
Radical Fish Games’ official CrossCode page lists Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions. That list confirms where the game is officially available; it does not establish that WoN-Boots behaves identically on all four platforms.

GameFAQs includes the code in a Nintendo Switch cheats listing, which corroborates a console-oriented entry. The CrossCode Wiki supplies the main-menu instruction and the code listing, while the official update supports the Add-On explanation. None of those references provides a complete, platform-by-platform compatibility matrix or a universal controller sequence.
| Evidence | What it supports | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| CrossCode Wiki bonus-code and item references | The code listing, main-menu entry point, and cosmetic behavior | Guaranteed compatibility with every edition or patch |
| GameFAQs Nintendo Switch cheats page | A Switch-oriented listing of the code | Identical behavior on Steam, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One |
| Radical Fish Games July 2018 update | The conversion of appearance items to Add-Ons | The code itself as an official published code list |
| Official CrossCode platform page | Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One availability | Code compatibility by platform |
If your edition rejects the entry, displays no bonus-code option, or does not show the Add-On afterward, do not assume that a different button combination will fix it. The available evidence is insufficient to promise support for every platform, region, or version.

The code is rejected
- Return to the main menu and use the bonus-code option rather than a pause-menu field.
- Check the spelling: the listed code is
WoN-Boots, including the hyphen. - Enter it manually once instead of pasting hidden spaces or line breaks.
- Confirm that you are using a CrossCode release with a bonus-code feature; the references do not document every edition’s menu implementation.
The code is accepted but nothing changes
- Load the save associated with the entry. The reward is expected to appear in the game’s cosmetic inventory, not as a visible main-menu decoration.
- Open the Add-On section and look for Sparkly Boots.
- Enable the Add-On; code redemption alone may not turn on its visual effect.
- Run and jump in a clear area so the particles and sound are easy to distinguish.
The effect disappears after changing armor
Because Sparkly Boots is an Add-On, changing ordinary leg equipment should not be the method used to manage it. Reopen the Add-On section and verify that the cosmetic remains enabled. If the item is absent entirely, the references do not provide a recovery command or a platform-specific repair procedure; record your platform and game version before seeking edition-specific support.

What this code does not unlock
The documented reward is one cosmetic effect. There is no evidence in the cited references that WoN-Boots grants currency, levels, weapons, armor statistics, quest completion, hidden areas, or a broader cheat mode. “Secrets” in search phrasing generally refers to small bonus-code rewards such as this one, not to a separate secret campaign or developer console.
Do not treat the code as paid downloadable content. The available instructions describe it as a bonus-code unlock, and nothing in the references says that purchasing a physical or digital edition is required after you own the game. Radical Fish Games announced physical Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 editions with ININ Games in 2020, but retail availability, seller, region, and price are separate questions from claiming this cosmetic.
Interpreting older guides and screenshots
Search results can show two names: “Sparkly Boots” and “Sparkling Boots.” The former is the code reward’s commonly listed name, while the latter appears in the official 2018 explanation of the older appearance-changing equipment. They describe the same general visual concept, but the inventory model changed when those items became Add-Ons.

Quick reference
| Item | Verified detail |
|---|---|
| Code | WoN-Boots |
| Entry location | Bonus-code option at the main menu |
| Reward type | Cosmetic Add-On |
| Running effect | Star sparkles emitted by Lea |
| Jump effect | Shimmering sound |
| Stat benefit | None documented |
| Current equipment relationship | Independent of stat-bearing leg equipment |
| Platform certainty | Not established universally; a Nintendo Switch listing corroborates the code on that platform |
Bottom line for players looking for the secret boots
Use WoN-Boots from the main menu’s bonus-code option, then activate Sparkly Boots in the Add-On inventory. Expect star sparkles while Lea runs and a shimmering jump sound, not a combat benefit. The reward’s modern Add-On format lets you keep your preferred stat-bearing leg equipment. Because the sources do not verify every platform and version, treat the code as documented but not universally guaranteed across all CrossCode editions.
