What Seasons of Pywel changes
Khione95’s Nexus Mods description says the mod’s four seasons follow the in-game calendar and change while the player continues, without a reload or manually switching mods. That is the author’s description, not an independently verified performance claim. The listing showed version 1.0.2, last updated October 2, 2026; check the mod page for current files and instructions.

Season order and appearance
The in-game year begins in summer. By default, each season lasts 30 in-game days, and the sequence is summer, autumn, winter, spring, then summer again. The listing says the transition appears within seconds, while distant foliage may update as it loads or after travel.

- Autumn: trees, bushes, grass and terrain take on golden, orange and brown tones.
- Winter: snow, frost and snowfall. The Crimson Desert itself remains bare and warm, according to the listing.
Weather, warmth and snow
The mod author says weather varies by season: winter brings snow more often, autumn more rain, spring some rain and summer occasional rain. The mod also adjusts temperature, making clothing and warmth relevant; fires still warm the player. Its version 1.0.2 notes say winter cold was adjusted so some chilly areas would not become deadly cold.

During snowfall, the optional deep-snow feature accumulates snow that melts over time and can affect movement and temperature. It can be disabled in the Control Menu while keeping winter’s snow cover, snowfall and cold. These mechanics and patch notes come from the author’s listing and have not been independently tested here.
Settings and installation options
The listing supports choices such as calendar-following or fixed seasons, different season lengths, and deep snow on or off. It does not establish one best configuration for every player.

These are the author’s installation steps; neither route was directly tested for this article. The author says the mod does not change game files on disk. This is a PC modding option, not an official console feature.

Compatibility limits to check
- Mods that replace the same tree, grass or terrain textures may produce mixed results outside summer.
- Other weather mods may conflict.
- After a game update, features the mod can no longer find may be disabled until the mod is updated.
Because the listing is actively updated, check its version and compatibility notes against your installed game before installing.

Charting the Unknown has a separate October 29 date
Pearl Abyss’s official notice dated September 30, 2026, sets Charting the Unknown for October 29, 2026 (GMT/PT), replacing the previously announced October 15 date. The publisher said it needed more development time to refine the content and provide a more polished and stable experience. See Pearl Abyss’s official notice.
The publisher’s DLC description lists ocean exploration, islands, diving for underwater treasures and ruins, new threats, new stories for Kliff, Oongka and Damiane, facility rental and management, and upgraded housing. It also says the DLC will not be available on the Mac App Store at launch; any later Mac release will be announced separately.
Seasons of Pywel is a community mod, not a feature announced for Charting the Unknown. The DLC’s official description does not list a four-season system.
