Jim Cramer’s five reported picks are Nvidia, Micron Technology, GE Vernova, Linde and TJX Companies. A secondary report attributed the list and its rationales to CNBC after a weaker-than-expected September 2026 U.S. jobs report helped traders pare bets on an October Federal Reserve rate hike. The list is commentary, not a prediction that these stocks will rise or a recommendation tailored to your finances.

Which five stocks were on Cramer’s reported list?

Traders Union’s October 2, 2026 report says CNBC attributed these five names to Cramer. The CNBC page could not be independently reviewed, so the reasoning below reflects Traders Union’s summary—not verified direct quotations or a complete investment thesis. Traders Union’s report

What made the jobs report “soft”?

According to the Associated Press’s account of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics release, employers added 29,000 jobs in September 2026, well below the roughly 90,000 expected. The unemployment rate rose from 4.1% to 4.2%, and revisions cut the combined July and August payroll count by 60,000. Average hourly earnings grew 3% year over year, the smallest annual increase since May 2021, AP reported. Associated Press report on the jobs data

Wilmington Trust chief economist Luke Tilley said, “In this data, there is no sign that the labor market is stoking inflation,” AP reported. That is an interpretation of this release, not evidence that inflation risk has gone away: AP also noted inflation remained above the Fed’s 2% target and continued to weigh on policymakers.

How did markets and rate-hike expectations respond?

On October 2, 2026, the S&P 500 rose 0.7%, the Dow gained 0.5%, the Nasdaq Composite advanced 1.2%, and the Russell 2000 rose 0.9%, AP reported. The same report said traders pared bets on a later-month Fed hike. Associated Press market-close report

Published estimates of the market-implied probability were not identical because they captured different snapshots. Schwab Network reported CME FedWatch odds of an October hike fell below 25% on Friday, October 2, from 70% on Monday. Benzinga reported an earlier comparison of 23% before the jobs report and 13% after its release. These are time-specific market estimates, not a Fed announcement or a guarantee of what policymakers will do. Schwab Network’s odds report; Benzinga’s odds report

What the rate shift does—and does not—say about these stocks

A softer jobs report can affect expectations for interest rates, but it does not mechanically make any particular stock a winner. The reporting establishes that Cramer’s list was presented in the context of lower hike odds; it does not establish that the five companies will outperform, or that their shares are suitable for every investor.

To evaluate any of the names, consider the company’s earnings and valuation alongside its end-market demand, capital-allocation choices, and sensitivity to interest rates and economic growth. The reported rationales are starting points for research, not substitutes for it. This article does not provide a current valuation comparison or a full company-by-company investment analysis.
