The company reported rapid growth and raised its 2026 guidance; neither provides a 2028 revenue or earnings forecast, or a valuation method for that share price. At Palantir’s Q2 2026 diluted weighted-average share count, $300 would imply about $770.6 billion in equity value. That is illustrative arithmetic, not a forecast or a current market capitalization.
What Palantir’s latest results show
Palantir’s August 3, 2026 earnings release reported Q2 revenue of $1.935 billion, up 93% year over year. U.S. commercial revenue was $764 million, up 149%, while U.S. government revenue was $809 million, up 90%. These are company-reported quarterly results, not independent estimates. - GAAP operating income was $912 million, a 47% margin.
- GAAP net income was $1.062 billion, a 55% margin.
- Adjusted free cash flow was $1.220 billion, a 63% margin.
For full-year 2026, management raised revenue guidance to $8.150–$8.158 billion and guided to adjusted income from operations of $4.889–$4.897 billion. It expects U.S. commercial revenue to exceed $3.424 billion, representing at least 134% year-over-year growth. Those figures are management’s outlook for 2026; they should not be projected mechanically through 2028.
What a $300 share price implies
Palantir reported 2.568694 billion diluted weighted-average shares for Q2 2026. Multiplying that historical share count by $300 gives approximately $770.6 billion in implied equity value. This is a scale check, not an estimate of Palantir’s value at the end of 2028: the share count can change, and the calculation does not establish what investors would pay for the company then. The same filing reported 2.300517 billion Class A shares and 101.375 million Class B shares outstanding as of June 30, 2026. These point-in-time class balances are not the same measure as diluted weighted-average shares used in the arithmetic above. Share-count choice matters in a per-share valuation, particularly when assessing possible future dilution.
What a credible 2028 price case needs
A target price is not supported by growth alone. To assess whether $300 is plausible, an investor needs a transparent model connecting future business results to value per share. At a minimum, that model should make these assumptions visible:

- Revenue or earnings through 2028: Q2 results and 2026 guidance show current momentum, but they do not provide a company forecast for 2028.
- Profitability and cash generation: State whether the analysis uses GAAP earnings, adjusted operating income, or free cash flow. These measures are not interchangeable.
- Valuation multiple: Explain the multiple applied to the forecast revenue, earnings, or cash flow, and why it is appropriate for the scenario.
- Shares at the target date: Account for possible issuance and dilution rather than assuming today’s share count remains fixed.
Without those inputs, $300 is a headline figure rather than a reproducible valuation conclusion. No independent 2028 consensus estimate or method behind the $300 figure is established here.
Why stock-based compensation and adjusted figures matter
Palantir sells subscriptions to hosted and on-premises software and provides professional services. It reported $466.8 million in stock-based compensation expense during the first half of 2026. Stock-based compensation is relevant because equity awards can affect the number of shares and therefore the portion of future company value attributable to each share. Palantir’s Q2 2026 filing

Investors should also distinguish GAAP results from adjusted measures. For example, the company’s adjusted operating-income guidance is not the same as GAAP net income or earnings per share. A price target built from an adjusted measure should state that choice and show how it accounts for share dilution; otherwise, the result can obscure what the forecast means for each share.
Management’s view is not proof of a $300 outcome
In the August 3, 2026 earnings release, co-founder and CEO Alex Karp said: “Demand for AI sovereignty has now been unleashed. And Palantir is the only company that has demonstrated it can transform tokens into actual economic value.” This is management’s characterization of the market and Palantir’s position, not independently verified evidence that future revenue will meet a particular forecast or that the stock will reach a specified price. How to evaluate the claim
- Check the date and basis. The results discussed here cover the quarter ended June 30, 2026, and were released August 3, 2026. A later assessment should use current company results and share data.
- Separate reported facts from projections. Q2 revenue and 2026 guidance are company disclosures; assumptions about performance through 2028 are not established by those figures.
- Rebuild the per-share math. Identify the share count and whether it is weighted-average, period-end, or an assumed future diluted count.
- Test the valuation assumption. Work out what revenue, earnings, or cash flow the scenario requires and what multiple the market would have to assign.
- Compare the forecast with dilution. Include stock-based compensation and any assumed share-count growth in the per-share calculation.
No current share quote or independent analyst consensus target is established here, so the $300 figure cannot be compared with a verified market price or consensus forecast on this basis.
