This description comes from players rather than developer documentation, so the exact trigger may vary with headset, control method, or game build. It is nevertheless the most specific solution reported for the “tile stuck up” symptom.
Try the reported water-wheel workaround
Use the following sequence when the tile has moved up and appears unable to return down. The timing matters, and you may need to repeat the sequence.
- Position your hand on the wheel. Make sure you can spray it rather than an adjacent part of the mechanism.
- Spray in the direction the tile needs to move. For a tile that must descend, work the lower part of the wheel; for an upward move, work the upper part. The Steam report describes the wheel’s top as moving the tile up and its bottom as moving it down.
- Pause while the spray is active. Open the game’s pause state without first releasing the interaction if your control setup allows it.
- Unpause. The player report says the tile should move a small amount when the game resumes.
- Turn the wheel immediately in the same desired direction. Begin spraying and spinning again before the tile snaps back to its previous position.
- Repeat if necessary. CheatBook reproduces the advice and warns that it may take a few attempts.
A follow-up in the Steam discussion says the suggestion worked for the poster’s child. That is one anecdotal success report, not a measured success rate. Neither the Steam thread nor CheatBook establishes that the sequence works on every platform or on every current build.
Why the timing is important
The workaround appears to exploit the short state change caused by pausing during the spray interaction. Unpausing gives the tile a small nudge, while the immediate second spin is intended to keep it from returning. Because the sources do not include developer technical notes, this is an observation about the reported behavior, not a guaranteed explanation of the game’s code.

If the tile moves the wrong way
- Stop spraying and reorient your hand so you are contacting the intended side of the wheel.
- Use the wheel’s upper contact area for an upward move and lower contact area for a downward move, as described in the player report.
- Pause only after the wheel is visibly turning. Pausing before the interaction may not reproduce the reported nudge.
- Try the sequence from a slightly different physical angle. In a room-scale headset, your hand can appear to touch the wheel while missing the active surface.
What to do when the workaround fails
Do not assume a failed attempt means you entered the sequence incorrectly. The workaround is community advice, and the available reports do not identify a universal cause or success rate. Work through basic recovery steps before treating the save as permanently blocked.
Restart the game and device
- Exit to the platform interface and close Cosmonious High completely rather than leaving it suspended.
- Restart the headset or computer running the game.
- Launch the game again and return to the puzzle.
- Confirm that the game has installed the latest update available for your platform.

Owlchemy Labs’ FAQ says players can look to its Discord or other fan pages for a hint when a puzzle is not covered. It also asks players to email support with details about what they were interacting with. For a progress block, the FAQ requests a save file if you can provide one. The support guidance is general; it does not confirm this particular wheel bug or endorse the community workaround.

Official controls and accessibility options that may help
These settings do not solve the sliding-puzzle state, but they can make the interaction easier or help you recover if navigating menus is difficult.
Open the power menu
In the standard control scheme, tap the circular gem on the back of your other in-game hand. The power menu should appear. In one-handed mode, Owlchemy Labs says to press the Power button twice.

Open the backpack and enter its settings section. The FAQ lists Smaller Human Mode and subtitles there. The documented subtitle languages are English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean. Smaller Human Mode changes the game’s presentation for a smaller player; it is not a puzzle hint or an automatic correction for a stuck tile.

Platform information before you troubleshoot
Platform behavior can differ, so identify the version you are running when you report the problem. The Steam report describes a puzzle in which the tile must be raised for one circuit and lowered for another. The correct position depends on the route you are currently completing. If you are trying to force the tile down, use the wheel’s lower movement direction; if the route calls for it to rise, use the upper direction.

How many attempts should it take?
No source gives a fixed number. CheatBook cautions that the workaround may take a few attempts, and the single Steam follow-up only says it worked for that player’s child. There is no reliable completion percentage or universal attempt count to quote.
Will the workaround definitely work on PSVR2, Quest 2, or SteamVR?
That has not been established by the available reports. The workaround was discussed on Steam, while the support material lists several platforms. Neither source confirms identical behavior across current builds or headsets.
Is there a secret developer code hidden in the game?
The checked pages do not list one. GameFAQs’ visible cheats page contains no code in the reviewed content, and CheatBook’s relevant entry is about the sliding-puzzle problem. Do not treat an unverified video or text claiming a code as confirmed information.
