Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 CUDIMM: 96GB Capacity and Up to 9,200 MT/s, Explained

Corsair’s Vengeance RGB DDR5 CUDIMM line reaches up to 96GB in capacity and up to 9,200 MT/s in transfer rate—but those headline figures describe different kits. Corsair’s current catalog lists a 48GB (2×24GB) kit rated at 9,200 MT/s CL44 and a 96GB (4×24GB) kit rated at 7,000 MT/s CL36. Full-speed operation also depends on the CPU, motherboard, BIOS, and memory profile.

What is CUDIMM memory?

CUDIMM means Clocked Unbuffered Dual In-line Memory Module. Unlike a conventional unbuffered DIMM, a CUDIMM adds a clock driver that regenerates and amplifies the clock signal. Corsair says this is intended to improve clock synchronization and stability at higher frequencies. Its December 3, 2024 announcement described CUDIMM as a technology developed for high-performance computing and higher frequencies than standard UDIMMs.

The clock driver does not guarantee that every compatible PC will run a kit at its advertised profile speed. Corsair positions Intel Core Ultra 200-series processors with Z890 motherboards as a platform for realizing the technology’s full potential.

Which capacities and speeds are listed?

Corsair’s initial December 2024 announcement described 48GB and 96GB kits across a range of DDR5-8400 to DDR5-9200. That range does not mean every capacity was offered at every speed. The current catalog examples, accessed September 28, 2026, show these distinct configurations:

48GB (2×24GB) 8,000 MT/s CL38
96GB (4×24GB) 7,000 MT/s CL36

These are catalog-rated specifications, not independent benchmark results. The 96GB catalog example is rated at 7,000 MT/s, not 9,200 MT/s. Catalog variants may change, so confirm the exact kit listing before buying.

Will DDR5 CUDIMM work with your motherboard?

Compatibility has two parts: whether the system can boot with the memory and whether it can run the kit at its rated XMP profile. Corsair says its CUDIMMs can work with existing DDR5 architectures in Bypass mode, like traditional UDIMMs. In that mode the clock driver is bypassed, and the system may operate at a lower base speed rather than the advertised high-frequency profile.

For earlier DDR5 platforms, Corsair Support says CUDIMMs operate only in Bypass mode and that base speeds can be lower than 6,400 MHz, depending on the platform. Corsair recommends checking the motherboard manufacturer’s BIOS guidance because an update may be required for the system to boot. This is manufacturer guidance, not a guarantee for every board or configuration.

Do you need a Z890 motherboard?

Not necessarily just to use the modules: Corsair describes Bypass-mode compatibility with existing DDR5 architectures. However, Corsair identifies Intel Core Ultra 200-series processors and Z890 motherboards as the platform for unlocking the kits’ full potential. Check support for the exact CPU, motherboard, BIOS version, and memory kit rather than treating “DDR5-compatible” as a promise of 9,200 MT/s operation.

Check these details before installation

  • Look up the exact memory kit in the motherboard maker’s memory support list.
  • Confirm support for the processor and motherboard combination, including any stated CUDIMM or high-frequency limitations.
  • Check the motherboard maker’s BIOS notes for updates needed to boot or support the kit.
  • Distinguish the kit’s default operating speed from its XMP profile speed.
  • Do not assume the rated maximum applies with every CPU, BIOS, or number of populated memory slots; Corsair’s published guidance does not quantify every configuration.

How do you enable the advertised memory profile?

Corsair says the Vengeance RGB DDR5 CUDIMM kits store their performance frequencies and timings in Intel XMP 3.0 profiles. The profile must be selected in the motherboard BIOS; installing the modules alone does not enable the advertised profile. BIOS names and menus vary by motherboard, so consult its manual for the memory-overclocking or XMP setting. If the system fails to boot after enabling a profile, follow the board maker’s recovery procedure and return to a supported setting before troubleshooting compatibility.

How should you choose between the 48GB and 96GB kits?

The catalog examples make a straightforward tradeoff: the 48GB two-module kit carries the higher rated transfer rate, while the 96GB four-module kit provides more capacity at a lower rated transfer rate. Choose according to the amount of memory your applications need and the profile your platform can support—not by comparing the headline numbers as if they belong to one kit.

The available manufacturer sources do not provide independent application benchmarks showing which configuration is faster in a particular workload. Rated transfer rate and latency alone do not establish real-world performance for a given PC.

What do the RGB and iCUE features include?

Corsair specifies ten individually addressable LEDs beneath a panoramic light bar, with customizable lighting. The company describes iCUE support for lighting synchronization, real-time frequency monitoring, and onboard voltage regulation. The modules also have a heatspreader. Corsair advertises a limited lifetime warranty; check Corsair’s terms for your region for the precise coverage.
