The Corsair Skiff 100 Plus pairs quiet rubber-dome membrane keys with gaming-focused controls: six programmable G-keys, a volume dial, 10-zone RGB lighting and a detachable wrist rest. It is a full-size, wired keyboard—not a mechanical board—and its low-noise typing comes with a softer, less crisp feel than mechanical switches.
What kind of keyboard is the Skiff 100 Plus?
Corsair labels the switches “Rubber Dome” in the specifications and describes the keys as membrane in its marketing. Those terms refer here to the same basic design: pressing a key pushes a rubber dome to actuate the keyboard, rather than moving a mechanical switch. Corsair calls the keys quiet and responsive; its line “Membrane keys won’t annoy your roommates” is marketing, not a published acoustic measurement. Corsair’s product page

Independent reviewer RTINGS characterizes the typing as very quiet and suitable for shared offices, while noting that the domes feel less crisp than mechanical switches on rapid repeated presses. That distinction matters most if you want a sharply defined key response for fast, repeated inputs: quietness and a mechanical-style tactile feel are not the same thing. RTINGS’ review
What controls and features does it include?
Corsair’s North American specification describes a 104-key full-size layout with six macro keys, a dedicated Windows lock hotkey, a rotary volume dial, 10-zone RGB lighting and selective 12-key rollover. The dial changes volume and mutes when pressed; Fn combinations control previous track, next track and play/pause. Corsair says the dial itself cannot be freely reassigned. The included wrist rest detaches from the keyboard. Corsair’s specifications and FAQ
#1 Best Overall
- Dynamic RGB Backlighting: Light up your desktop with six onboard lighting effects, assign a color to each lighting zone, or program your own vibrant lighting effects across five RGB lighting zones with CORSAIR iCUE software.
- Six Dedicated Macro Keys: Activate functions, shortcuts, or keypresses in just one stroke with six dedicated macro keys, easily set up through CORSAIR iCUE software, or use instant streaming commands through Elgato Stream Deck software.
- Dust and Spill-Resistant Design: IP42-rated protection guards against accidents so your gameplay never has to stop.
- Detachable Palm Rest: A soft rubber palm rest reduces stress on your hands so you can play longer in comfort, with a textured surface to keep your hands from slipping.
- Dedicated Volume and Media Keys: Convenient control for media playback and fine-tuning volume on-the-fly without having to interrupt your game.
Selective 12-key rollover is not the same as true N-key rollover: it does not promise that every simultaneously pressed key will register. RTINGS reports good single- and multi-key latency for casual and mid-level play, but also notes the lack of true N-key rollover and less crisp repeated keypresses. Corsair lists a 1000 Hz report rate; that specification is not an end-to-end latency measurement. RTINGS’ review
How does it connect, and what does IP53 protect against?
The North American model uses a fixed wired USB 2.0 Type-A connection. It has no Bluetooth or multi-device pairing, and Corsair lists one onboard profile for saved settings. Its FAQ names PC, Mac, Xbox One and Series X|S, PS4, and PS5 compatibility, while cautioning that some system functions may not work on every platform. The manufacturer lists a two-year warranty. - Elgato Stream Deck Integration: Customizable Stream Deck keys and dials give you precise, real-time command of your entire gaming setup—without adding another device to your desk
- Streamline your play: React faster and stay focused in-game, whether you're navigating menus with hotkeys or executing complex combos with Multi Actions
- Go beyond the game: Get instant, one-touch control of apps like Discord and Spotify without leaving your game using plugins from Elgato Marketplace
- Dynamic LCD screen: Keep tabs on everything from hardware performance to your favorite Twitch channels in real time on a customizable full-color 5" display
- Uncompromising speed and precision: Secure your competitive advantage thanks to 8,000Hz hyperpolling and FlashTap SOCD for ultra-responsive inputs and advanced movement techniques
Corsair describes the IP53 rating as protection from dust and light water spray or splashes. It explicitly says the keyboard is not waterproof and warns against submersion, rinsing or heavy water exposure. Treat the rating as limited protection, not permission to wash the keyboard or use it around spills without care. Corsair’s product page

The Skiff 100 Plus is a plausible fit if you want a full-size layout, quieter typing, dedicated macro keys and direct volume control in a shared room or office. The wired connection avoids wireless setup, but rules out moving freely between devices. One onboard profile and the fixed dial’s limited reassignment also make it less flexible for people who want extensive per-device customization.

RTINGS identifies the SteelSeries Apex 3 as another full-size rubber-dome option, the Corsair K70 CORE as a mechanical alternative with full N-key rollover, and the Keychron J2 as a compact wireless, hot-swappable design. These serve different priorities rather than being direct equivalents. RTINGS’ comparison notes

Igor’sLAB tested a German ISO-DE 104-key version, while Corsair’s cited specification is for the North American layout; regional configurations should not be assumed identical. In its September 4, 2026 review, Igor’sLAB measured average end-to-end latency of 14.6 ms, with results ranging from 9.3 to 20.1 ms in that review’s test. These are reviewer measurements, not Corsair specifications or guarantees for every setup. Igor’sLAB also described the case and wrist rest as basic and noted limited switch and keycap customization for the tested version. Igor’sLAB’s review
