That makes it worth considering if you want precise control over when keys activate, a number pad, and dedicated media controls. It is less suitable if you need wireless connectivity, dedicated macro keys, or a quieter, firmer-feeling typing experience: RTINGS reports key wobble and a rattling spacebar in its review.
What the K70 MAX offers
Corsair’s K70 MAX combines an aluminum full-size chassis with linear MGX magnetic switches, per-key RGB lighting, a volume roller, and dedicated media controls. Its wired connection uses USB Type-A on the keyboard specification page. The box includes a detachable magnetic soft-touch palm rest and braided USB Type-C cable, as well as a radiant space bar and Corsair logo keycap. The North American product listing identifies the model as SKU CH-910961G-NA; layouts and included keycaps can vary by regional SKU.

Corsair lists compatibility with Windows 10/11 and macOS 10.15 or later, plus Xbox One and Series X|S and PlayStation 4 and 5. Console support can depend on the connection and software requirements for the platform, so check Corsair’s product page for the exact setup before relying on console use.
How adjustable actuation and Rapid Trigger work
On a conventional mechanical keyboard, each switch typically has a fixed actuation point. The K70 MAX’s magnetic MGX switches let you set the actuation point separately for each key, from 0.4 mm to 3.6 mm in 0.1 mm increments. Corsair specifies 2.0 mm as the default, a 45 g actuation force, and 4.0 mm total travel. These specifications are listed on Corsair’s support page, updated September 11, 2025.

A shallow actuation setting means a key registers after less downward movement; a deeper setting requires more. That lets you choose a more sensitive response for some gaming keys and a less sensitive one for keys you are likely to brush accidentally. The board also supports Rapid Trigger: Corsair describes it as resetting a key as it travels upward, so it can register another press without waiting for a fixed reset point. These are customization options, not a guarantee of faster reactions or improved results in a game.
Configuration relies on Corsair’s software. The keyboard also supports onboard memory, per-key programmable RGB, full n-key rollover with anti-ghosting, and AXON hyper-polling of up to 8,000 Hz, according to Corsair’s support specifications. The maximum polling figure is a manufacturer specification, not a promise that every game or setup will show a noticeable benefit.

What independent testing says
RTINGS describes the K70 MAX as strong for gaming, citing good build quality and gaming latency, and reports an effective update rate of up to 8,000 Hz. Its review was published October 17, 2023, and its test bench was updated January 6, 2026. RTINGS also says the keyboard is adequate for office work and programming, but notes key wobble and a noticeably rattling spacebar. Those are findings from that reviewer’s tested sample, not a guarantee that every unit will feel identical.

The typing caveat matters because adjustable actuation does not change the switches’ linear character or eliminate physical key movement. If you prioritize a particularly solid, quiet typing feel, try the keyboard in person if possible or compare reviews that assess acoustics and typing directly.

Who should consider it—and who should look elsewhere
It fits a setup that needs
- A full-size layout with number pad, volume roller, and dedicated media buttons.
- Per-key control over actuation for games or different typing preferences.
- A wired keyboard and the ability to use Corsair’s software for configuration.
Consider another keyboard if you need
- Wireless connectivity: RTINGS identifies the K70 MAX as wired-only.
- Dedicated macro keys: RTINGS notes that the K70 MAX does not have them.
- A typing feel without the reviewer-noted wobble and spacebar rattle.
RTINGS also discusses the Wooting two HE, SteelSeries Apex Pro, Razer Huntsman V2 Analog, and Corsair K100 RGB as alternatives. They differ in switch adjustment, layout, controls, and connectivity; the best comparison depends on which of those matters most to you. Check the specific model and its current specifications rather than assuming that another keyboard’s adjustment range, polling behavior, or build feel matches the K70 MAX.
