Choose the Corsair K55 RGB PRO if dedicated media buttons, five-zone lighting, its soft detachable palm rest, or documented Stream Deck integration matters most. Choose the SKIFF 100 PLUS if you want a volume-and-media dial, 10-zone RGB, a newer IP53 rating, or compatibility with current PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
Both are wired, full-size membrane keyboards with rubber-dome switches and six dedicated macro keys. The Skiff is the newer model in the same general family, but it is not a universal upgrade: the K55 retains controls and software integration that some desktop users will prefer.

Quick verdict
| Buy this model | Best fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Corsair K55 RGB PRO | PC or Mac users who rely on physical media buttons and macros | Six macro keys, dedicated media hotkeys, five-zone RGB, detachable soft palm rest, and documented Elgato Stream Deck software integration |
| Corsair SKIFF 100 PLUS | Desktop or console players who prefer a dial and broader platform support | Six G-keys, rotary media/volume control, 10-zone RGB, detachable wrist rest, IP53 rating, and listed support for PC, Mac, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PS5 |
The choice is about controls and compatibility rather than a proven performance gap. No controlled head-to-head test establishes a winner for latency, durability, typing speed or noise. Current prices and stock also vary by country, so check the live listing in your region before ordering.
What these keyboards have in common
Both keyboards use rubber-dome membrane switches. Pressing a key collapses a rubber dome onto a membrane contact, closing the circuit and registering the keystroke. This design generally costs less and produces less sharp switch noise than a mechanical keyboard, while giving a softer, cushioned bottom-out.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
They are both full-size layouts, so you get the number pad as well as the standard navigation cluster. Each provides six dedicated macro keys along the left side. Those keys are separate from the normal 104-key matrix on the Skiff and can be useful for game commands, editing shortcuts, or repetitive desktop actions.
Neither keyboard should be treated as a mechanical-board substitute. The sources do not establish a controlled measurement for actuation force, debounce latency, key lifetime or sound level. Choose between them for their control layouts, lighting, platform support and comfort accessories.
Feature-by-feature comparison
| Feature | K55 RGB PRO | SKIFF 100 PLUS | What it means in practice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Switch type | Membrane, rubber dome | Membrane, rubber dome | Both target quiet, cushioned typing rather than mechanical-switch feedback. |
| Main layout | Full-size | Full-size, 104-key matrix | Both include a number pad and navigation keys. |
| Dedicated macros | Six dedicated macro keys | Six dedicated G-keys | There is no numerical advantage; software workflow is the deciding factor. |
| Media controls | Dedicated media hotkeys | Rotary dial plus media control | Buttons offer direct one-press actions; the dial is convenient for continuous volume changes. |
| RGB zones | Five zones | 10 zones | The Skiff allows more lighting segments, not necessarily brighter or better illumination. |
| Onboard lighting effects | Six preset effects documented at launch | not stated in the cited product specifications | Do not assume the two keyboards expose the same presets. |
| Wrist support | Detachable soft, textured palm rest | Detachable wrist rest included | Shape and material are personal; try the angle if possible. |
| Ingress rating | IP42 | IP53 | Both ratings indicate limited protection, not waterproofing or safe submersion. |
| Rollover | Exact figure not established in the cited sources | 12-key selective rollover | The Skiff is not full N-key rollover; simultaneous-key behavior matters for specialized games. |
| Listed platforms | PC and Mac | PC, Mac, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PS5 | Verify feature support on the exact console and game before purchase. |
| Warranty | not stated in the cited sources | Two years, according to the official product page | Warranty terms can vary by country and seller. |
| Cable | Wired; cable details not stated in the cited specifications | Permanently attached rubber cable, according to GamesRadar’s October 9, 2026 review | A fixed cable limits replacement and routing options. |
| USB passthrough | not stated in the cited sources | None, according to the GamesRadar review | Plan for a separate USB connection for a mouse or headset. |

K55 RGB PRO: separate media buttons and Stream Deck integration
The K55’s six dedicated macro keys sit alongside dedicated media controls. That arrangement suits a desk where you frequently pause music, skip tracks, mute audio or adjust playback without reaching for a software overlay. Corsair’s 2021 launch announcement also documents integration with Elgato Stream Deck software. If your workflow already uses Stream Deck actions, this is the only model in this comparison with that integration explicitly cited in the available material.
The launch announcement identifies six macro keys, but the reviewed sources do not specify the K55’s exact rollover count. Do not infer full N-key rollover from the presence of macro keys or from its gaming branding.

Please note that this hub is compatible with MacBook (macOS 12 and newer), Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
SKIFF 100 PLUS: a dial for continuous adjustments
The Skiff replaces a bank of separate media buttons with a rotary dial and media control. A dial is especially useful when you make frequent, small volume changes: turn it gradually instead of tapping a button repeatedly. If you prefer a distinct button for every action, the K55’s layout is more immediately legible.
The six G-keys preserve the macro capacity of the K55. Corsair’s comparison lists them as dedicated keys, while the official page specifies a 104-key matrix in addition to the macro controls. The cited specifications do not establish whether the two models’ macro-recording software behaves identically, so confirm the current manual and software support for your operating system.

Membrane keyboards are often selected for their lower cost and softer sound. The Skiff has one independent hands-on account: GamesRadar’s October 9, 2026 review describes its keystrokes as smooth, with tactility appearing at the bottom of a press. That reviewer also noticed a difference between the main alphanumeric keys and larger keys such as the space bar. This is a subjective impression from one sample, not a laboratory comparison with the K55.
The available material contains no controlled test of the K55 and Skiff for latency, actuation force, consistency, noise, durability or typing accuracy. If you need a measured response advantage, neither product has documented evidence here to justify choosing it over the other. For ordinary office work and mainstream gaming, decide first whether the dial, media buttons, wrist rest and platform list fit your desk.
Understanding the Skiff’s 12-key rollover
Corsair specifies 12-key selective rollover for the SKIFF 100 PLUS. Selective rollover means the keyboard is designed to recognize up to 12 simultaneous keys in the combinations covered by its matrix; it is not the same as full N-key rollover. Most users will never press 12 keys at once, but rhythm games, input testing and certain keyboard shortcuts can expose matrix limits.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.

The cited sources do not give an equivalent rollover number for the K55 RGB PRO. Treat that value as unknown rather than assuming it is higher or lower.
Lighting and physical comfort
Five zones versus 10 zones
The K55 RGB PRO divides its RGB lighting into five zones and offers six preset onboard effects, according to its 2021 launch specifications. The Skiff doubles the number of zones to 10. More zones let you create narrower color bands across the board, but zone count alone does not establish brightness, diffusion quality, software flexibility or gaming performance.
Choose the Skiff if segmented lighting is part of your setup’s visual design. Choose the K55 if five-zone lighting already meets your needs and you value its other controls more. Neither source establishes per-key RGB, so do not expect the same customization as a keyboard with individually addressable keys.
Palm rest versus wrist rest
The K55 includes a detachable soft, textured palm rest. The Skiff includes a detachable wrist rest, but the cited product information does not characterize its material in equivalent detail. Both allow you to remove the support if it raises your wrists too much or conflicts with your desk edge.
Comfort depends on hand size, chair height and desk depth. Before buying, measure the available front-to-back space with the rest attached. A full-size keyboard plus a rest can push a mouse farther to the side, which matters if you use a low mouse sensitivity and need broad movement.

Protection and everyday durability
The K55 is rated IP42; the Skiff is rated IP53. These codes describe resistance to limited ingress under specified test conditions. They do not make either keyboard waterproof, spill-proof in every situation or suitable for submersion. Keep drinks away from the board, disconnect power before cleaning, and follow the manufacturer’s care guidance rather than deliberately testing the rating.
The Skiff’s official page lists a two-year warranty. No corresponding K55 warranty term appears in the cited material, and warranty coverage can differ by region and seller. Check the policy attached to the exact listing you intend to purchase.
GamesRadar reports that the Skiff uses a permanently attached rubber cable, ABS keycaps and has no USB passthrough. A fixed cable can be perfectly adequate on a stationary desk, but it cannot be replaced if damaged and may be harder to route through a tight cable-management channel.

Corsair’s comparison lists the K55 RGB PRO for PC and Mac. The same comparison lists the SKIFF 100 PLUS for PC, Mac, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PS5. That makes the Skiff the safer starting point for a household that moves one keyboard between a computer and multiple consoles.

Price and value
GamesRadar’s October 9, 2026 Skiff review listed a price of $59.99 in the United States and £59.99 in the United Kingdom, with observed discounts around $49.99 and £39.99 at review time. Those were time-specific observations, not guaranteed current prices. The cited material does not provide a current K55 RGB PRO price.
| Price information | What is established | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| SKIFF 100 PLUS | $59.99 / £59.99 listed by GamesRadar on October 9, 2026; discounts around $49.99 / £39.99 were observed | Use only as a dated reference. Check the live regional listing, shipping cost and warranty. |
| K55 RGB PRO | not stated in the cited sources | Compare the current price directly with the Skiff rather than relying on launch-era or third-party figures. |
At equal pricing, the Skiff’s dial, 10-zone RGB, console list and IP53 rating are meaningful advantages only if you will use them. The K55 can be the better value when dedicated media buttons, the soft palm rest or Stream Deck integration would otherwise require additional hardware or a changed workflow.
Which keyboard should you buy?
Pick the K55 RGB PRO when these statements describe you
- You adjust playback often and want separate, tactile media keys rather than a dial.
- You want the K55’s documented integration with Elgato Stream Deck software.
- You prefer five-zone lighting and do not need 10 separate lighting segments.
- You want a soft, textured detachable palm rest.
- You will use the keyboard primarily on a PC or Mac and do not need the Skiff’s listed console compatibility.
Pick the SKIFF 100 PLUS when these statements describe you
- You want one rotary control for smooth volume changes and media playback.
- You prefer 10-zone RGB lighting.
- You need a keyboard listed for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 or PS5 as well as PC and Mac.
- You value the newer IP53 rating, while understanding that it is not waterproofing.
- You are comfortable with 12-key selective rollover and do not require full N-key rollover.
- You want the documented two-year warranty, subject to your region’s terms.
When neither is the right answer
Consider another class of keyboard if you require full N-key rollover, individually addressable per-key lighting, a detachable cable, USB passthrough, or measured low-latency performance. Those capabilities are not established for both models in the available specifications, and the Skiff is specifically documented as 12-key selective rollover with no USB passthrough.

Buying and setup checklist
- Confirm the exact model name. Look for “K55 RGB PRO” or “SKIFF 100 PLUS,” not a similarly named K55 or Skiff variant.
- Check the regional listing. Verify currency, stock, delivery, return period and warranty terms for your country; prices and availability change.
- Match the platform. For console use, confirm the specific Xbox or PlayStation generation and whether the game accepts keyboard input.
- Measure your desk. Account for the full-size chassis, number pad, macro column and attached wrist support before finalizing the layout.
- Choose your control style. Select the K55 for dedicated media buttons or the Skiff for a rotary dial.
- Test the features you care about first. On a PC or Mac, check macro assignment, lighting behavior and media controls before moving the keyboard to a console.
- Keep expectations realistic. Do not submerge either board, and do not treat the Skiff’s 12-key rollover as N-key rollover.
What the available evidence does—and does not—show
Corsair’s comparison and product page establish the major feature differences: macro count, media-control design, lighting zones, wrist support, ingress ratings and platform list. The 2021 K55 launch announcement establishes its six macro keys, five-zone RGB, six preset effects, IP42 rating and Stream Deck integration. GamesRadar supplies a dated Skiff price observation and a subjective account of its key feel.
They do not establish a controlled, direct test between these exact keyboards. There is no verified head-to-head result for typing speed, latency, durability, acoustic output or long-term failure rate. The K55’s exact rollover specification is also not stated in the cited sources. Those gaps are why the recommendation should follow your preferred controls and platforms rather than an unsupported claim that one membrane mechanism is objectively faster or quieter.
For the official feature comparison, see Corsair’s SKIFF and K55 comparison. For the Skiff’s current specifications, consult the official SKIFF 100 PLUS page. The K55 launch specifications are in Corsair’s 2021 announcement; independent impressions and dated pricing are from GamesRadar’s Skiff review and its 2026 membrane-keyboard roundup.
