Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTo make a SaaS landing page feel faster, first find out whether visitors are waiting for the main content, delayed by interactions, or seeing the layout jump. Measure Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), Interaction to Next Paint (INP), and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) using field data split by mobile and desktop. Then use browser diagnostics to locate the cause, make a targeted fix, and check field performance again after release.
What Core Web Vitals measure—and what counts as good
Core Web Vitals cover three parts of a visitor’s experience: loading, responsiveness, and visual stability. Google’s current good thresholds are assessed at the 75th percentile, separately for mobile and desktop. In practical terms, the 75th percentile describes the boundary within which most measured visits fall; a fast best-case visit is not enough to establish that a page is performing well.

| Metric | What it measures | Good | Poor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) | Time until the largest eligible image, text block, or video in the viewport renders | 2.5 seconds or less | More than 4 seconds |
| Interaction to Next Paint (INP) | Responsiveness across user interactions | 200 milliseconds or less | More than 500 milliseconds |
| Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) | Unexpected visual movement | 0.1 or less | More than 0.25 |
Results between a metric’s good and poor thresholds need improvement. The page should meet the good threshold for all three metrics on both device segments; a strong desktop result does not cancel out a weak mobile one. See Google’s Web Vitals overview and threshold methodology for the definitions and rationale.
Measure the landing page visitors actually use
Check field data before running a lab test
Start with PageSpeed Insights and look for available real-user field data. Confirm whether it describes the specific URL or the site’s origin: an origin-level result combines experience across a site and may not reflect a particular landing page. Review the 75th-percentile values for LCP, INP, and CLS separately on mobile and desktop.

- Scope of application: The spark plug tester is universal and suitable for testing and troubleshooting small or large internal/external engines such as engines, trucks, automobiles, lawn mowers, marine engines and motorcycles. It is the preferred product in any personal or professional machinery store or automobile garage.
- About use: Just connect the tester between the spark plug and the spark plug wire, and it takes about 30 seconds for the internal combustion engine to troubleshoot. If the engine can emit spark, the tester bulb reflects the spark and lights up, so as to quickly find the fault point and bad circuit of the spark plug.
- Excellent material selection: It adopts excellent rubber and metal, high-temperature resistant wire and environmental friendly acetate plastic. It works in high and low temperature environment without impact and is durable.
- Product size: 2.28 inch metal interface, 4.44 inch shaft/lamp housing, 6.53 inch sheath/cable; The internal bulb lasts for several years and is replaced by a transparent housing.
- Service: If you have any questions about the product, please contact us in time, and we will provide you with satisfactory solutions.
Field data reflects visits from real people using different devices, networks, and interactions. It answers whether visitors are experiencing a problem, but a summary score alone may not reveal which page element or interaction caused it.
Use lab tools to investigate likely causes
Chrome DevTools and Lighthouse can help reproduce loading and layout behavior and catch regressions before release. A default Lighthouse run has no user input, so it cannot directly measure INP. Total Blocking Time (TBT) can help identify potential main-thread problems in a lab run, but it is a diagnostic proxy—not a substitute for field INP.
Lab and field results can differ because the test device, network, and interactions may not match those of visitors. CLS can also occur after the initial page load, such as during scrolling or a single-page-app transition, so a basic lab load may miss movement that appears in field data.

Add site-owned telemetry when summaries are not enough
Chrome User Experience Report (CrUX) data is useful for a quick assessment, but it does not provide all the per-pageview detail a team may need to diagnose a regression. For that level of visibility, Google recommends real-user monitoring (RUM) owned by the site. The web-vitals library can report measurements to an analytics endpoint, letting a team inspect field experience in more detail.
Choose the repair path from the symptom
| What visitors notice | Metric to investigate | First investigation |
|---|---|---|
| The headline or main hero content appears late | LCP | Identify the LCP element; inspect when its resource is discovered, its loading priority, and server response time. |
| Buttons, navigation, or a form feel delayed | INP | Inspect event handling, long tasks, JavaScript volume, and rendering work. |
| Content jumps during loading or scrolling | CLS | Look for images or embeds without reserved space, injected content, font changes, and movement after initial load. |
Prioritize issues using observed field impact and the effort needed to fix the underlying cause. Google’s Core Web Vitals optimization guide notes that applicability and implementation effort matter alongside technical potential.
Fix LCP when the main content arrives late
Find the actual LCP element
The LCP element is not necessarily the hero image. It can be the largest eligible image, text block, or video visible in the viewport. Use page diagnostics or a browser trace to identify the element on the actual landing page, then inspect its loading path.

LCP includes connection setup, redirects, and time to first byte (TTFB). If the server responds slowly, part of the available time is gone before the browser can fetch and render the visible content. Check the server response as well as the asset itself; Google’s guide recommends improving TTFB, including by serving content from a suitable CDN and caching it appropriately.
Make an image LCP discoverable and appropriately prioritized
If an image is the LCP element, make its URL discoverable in the initial HTML response. A normal src or srcset lets the browser find the resource without waiting for JavaScript to reveal it. Avoid JavaScript-only lazy loading for an image that needs to appear immediately. Where diagnostics show that discovery or priority is delaying the image, consider an appropriate high fetch priority or a preload.
The scale of common implementation issues is a useful reason to check, not a substitute for measuring your own page: Google’s optimization guide cites HTTP Archive’s 2024 Web Almanac finding that 73% of mobile pages had an image as their LCP element, 35% of pages with an image LCP had a source URL that was not discoverable in the initial HTML response, and 15% of eligible pages used the fetchpriority attribute. These are web-wide figures, not SaaS-specific results or measurements of your site.

Fix INP when interactions feel delayed
Test interactions that matter on the landing page
Use field data where available, then examine the page’s meaningful interactions: for example, opening navigation, changing a pricing option, dismissing a banner, or submitting a form. These are diagnostic examples; the interactions that matter depend on the page.
Reduce main-thread work and expensive updates
When an interaction is slow, inspect its event handling and the work that runs before the next visual update. Google recommends yielding often and breaking up long tasks, avoiding unnecessary JavaScript, and avoiding large rendering updates. JavaScript that is not needed for the initial view can compete for the main thread during startup; code splitting can defer work until it is needed. Large DOMs and forced layout work can also make rendering expensive.

Give images and embeds stable dimensions
Images without dimensions and ads, embeds, or iframes without reserved space can move nearby content when they load. Set image width and height or an appropriate aspect ratio so the browser can allocate space before the asset arrives. Reserve a sensible height for an embed when its exact dimensions are not known.

Check injected content, fonts, and movement after load
Dynamic content and web fonts can also shift a page. Inspect whether content is inserted above what the visitor is reading or whether a font change alters line wrapping. CLS is not limited to the initial paint: movement can appear while scrolling or during an app transition. Compare field and lab results, and verify whether the field result is URL-level or origin-level before changing code.
As a broad indication of how common one cause is, Google’s optimization guide cites HTTP Archive’s 2024 Web Almanac finding that 66% of pages had at least one unsized image. That is a web-wide figure, not evidence that a particular landing page has the issue.

- Record the baseline. Save the available URL-level or origin-level field results for LCP, INP, and CLS at the 75th percentile, with mobile and desktop separated.
- Identify the failing experience. Match a late main element to LCP, delayed interactions to INP, or visible movement to CLS. Use a trace or page diagnostics to locate the likely cause rather than optimizing an unrelated score.
- Make a targeted change. Where practical, change one evidenced cause at a time so the effect is easier to evaluate.
- Run a lab check before release. Use browser diagnostics to check loading and layout behavior. For interaction work, treat TBT as a clue about main-thread work, not an INP result.
- Monitor field data after release. Check the same metric and device segments again. Use site-owned RUM if aggregate field data does not provide enough detail to see regressions or pageview-level behavior.
A better lab result is not proof that visitors experienced the same improvement. Nor does a technical Core Web Vitals improvement, by itself, establish an increase in signups, demo requests, or revenue; that business impact requires the team’s own analytics or experiment.
