If your cordless leg massager will not charge, first identify its exact model and follow that model’s manual for the cable, power input, indicator lights and charging procedure. If it charges but runs down quickly, verify that it reached a full charge, compare runtime at the same intensity and heat settings, and stop using unverified replacement chargers or batteries. Safe first checks before charging
- Turn the massager off. Unless the manual explicitly permits operation while connected, charge it while powered down.
- Inspect the cable and adapter. Look for cuts, bent contacts, crushed insulation, looseness or heat damage. Do not use visibly damaged charging equipment.
- Inspect the port without probing it. Check for lint, moisture, bent contacts or a housing that has separated from the casing. Do not insert a pin, knife or other object into the port.
- Seat the connector fully. A plug that feels inserted but is not making firm contact can prevent charging or cause intermittent charging. Keep the connector straight; do not force it.
- Use the arrangement listed in the manual. If the guide names a particular cable, adapter or USB source, use that setup for the test rather than a random phone charger or power bank.
- Check the indicator immediately after connection. Note whether a light appears, which color it shows and whether it changes after the expected charging period.
If the port is loose, burnt, wet or physically damaged, disconnect the cable and arrange service. Repeatedly wiggling a plug can worsen a damaged connector and may create a short circuit.

Do not assume that a higher-current adapter, a fast-charge accessory or a replacement battery is automatically compatible. The manufacturer can confirm the permitted charger and whether a replacement part exists for your exact model.
When asking, give support the output printed on the adapter, including voltage and current, rather than saying only “USB charger.” Ask whether a power bank is permitted and whether the device requires a particular cable. Keep the original charger if one was supplied; it gives support a concrete reference for compatibility.
What the charge light is telling you
Indicator colors and flashing patterns vary. A red light may mean charging on one model and low battery on another, so use the legend in your own guide. As one model-specific example, the Comfytemp K1002 manual says its low-battery button flashes red below 20% and the unit shuts down below 10%. That behavior should not be treated as a standard for other products.
No light appears
- Confirm the wall outlet or USB source works with another known-good device.
- Reconnect the cable at both ends and check whether the manual requires the massager to be off.
- Try the manufacturer-specified cable and source, if you have them.
- Check the port for debris or damage without inserting tools.
If the correct setup produces no expected indication, stop swapping random adapters and contact support. Tell them the model number, the source rating, the cable used and what the indicator did.

The light stays on but the battery never fills
Allow the complete charge period stated in the manual, then disconnect and test the massager. If the indicator never reaches the documented full-charge state, or the device stops soon after unplugging, report that exact sequence to the manufacturer. It can distinguish a cable or adapter issue from a battery or charging-circuit fault.
The indicator behaves differently from the manual
Record the color, flashing pattern and timing. A video can help support staff diagnose an intermittent fault. Do not infer battery percentage from a light pattern that the manual does not define.
Charging works only when the plug is held at an angle
That symptom points to an unreliable connection, such as a worn cable, damaged connector or loose port. Do not continue holding the plug in place while the unit charges. Do not repeatedly start and stop charging to “reset” the battery unless the manual specifically instructs you to do so. For a useful comparison, record when charging began, when the full-charge indication appeared and how long the next session lasted. If charging does not improve usage time, preserve those notes for a support claim.
Check whether your settings explain fast drain
Compare sessions under similar conditions. Write down the intensity level, heat setting, number of massage chambers used, session length and whether the device was restarted between sessions. Heating and high-intensity operation can consume more energy than low-intensity massage.

Portronics Support states: “Battery drain may occur due to continuous high-intensity use.” Reduce intensity and disable heat for one controlled test, then compare the result with your usual setting. This test does not establish a battery’s health by itself, but it shows whether demanding settings are a major contributor.
A simple runtime test
- Charge the massager fully according to its manual.
- Use the same intensity, heat setting and session duration each time.
- Start a timer when the device begins operating and record when the low-battery warning or shutdown occurs.
- Repeat once under lower intensity or with heat off, if the manual permits those settings.
- Compare only sessions made with the same starting charge and similar room temperature.
Do not compare a heated, high-intensity session with a low-intensity session and call the difference a battery defect. Conversely, if runtime remains unusually short after a confirmed full charge and consistent settings, escalate the issue.
Also check whether a session was longer than usual or whether heat was accidentally enabled. When to stop troubleshooting and contact support
Contact the manufacturer or seller when any of these conditions applies:

Include photographs of the rating label, connector and any casing damage. Explain whether the fault is constant or intermittent, and list the settings used during the runtime test. This is more useful than reporting only that the battery is “bad.” Keep the receipt and order confirmation in case the seller requires proof of purchase.
Consumer safety guidance from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission advises contacting the original equipment manufacturer when you are unsure whether a replacement battery or charger is compatible. The reviewed product manuals do not establish a universal, safe procedure for opening these devices or replacing an internal battery, so manufacturer-authorized service is the safer route.

Do not use generic batteries or adapters as a shortcut
A battery that has the same physical size or a charger with the same connector can still have the wrong voltage, current, polarity, charging protocol or protection circuitry. An incompatible part can damage the massager or create a fire and shock hazard. Do not recommend or buy a replacement solely because an online listing says it is “universal.” Confirm compatibility by exact model and part number with the manufacturer.
Do not open the casing to test or replace a lithium battery unless the manufacturer provides a service procedure and you are qualified to follow it. Puncturing, shorting or crushing a lithium battery can cause thermal runaway.
