The Cooler Master V8 ACE 3DHP is a tall, single-tower air cooler with a distinctive heatpipe design and two thick 120 mm fans. Independent testing found it handled a roughly 230 W load well, but recorded 48 dBA at full fan speed from 40 cm. Whether it is a good buy depends on your CPU platform, a case that accepts its 167.3 mm height, your tolerance for fan noise, and the price available where you live.
What the V8 ACE 3DHP is—and what makes it different
The V8 ACE 3DHP is a single-tower CPU air cooler, not a dual-tower model. Its hybrid heatsink uses two 3DHP heatpipes alongside four conventional SCCHP heatpipes, with a 120 × 120 × 30 mm fan on each side in a push-pull arrangement. Cooler Master lists maximum speeds of 2,500 ±250 RPM for the front fan and 2,050 ±250 RPM for the rear fan, and specifies no lighting.

Cooler Master says the 3DHP design adds a third branch aimed at the CPU hotspot to create another route for heat to enter the cooler. That is the manufacturer’s explanation of its design; it should not be confused with a separate independent measurement of how heat moves through the heatsink. The company also reports the cooler as the number-one tested single-tower AMD air cooler and number two air cooler overall in Cybenetics results. Those rankings are Cooler Master’s report of a tested dataset, not a promise of the same ranking in every system. Cooler Master’s specifications and design description

Choose the matching platform version
Cooler Master sells distinct AMD and Intel versions, with platform-specific base geometry and heatpipe designs. The AMD version is listed for AM4 and AM5; the Intel version is listed for LGA1851, LGA1700, LGA1200, and LGA115x sockets. Check the exact model and package for your region before ordering rather than assuming the AMD and Intel models are interchangeable.
#1 Best Overall
- 3DHP Technology - 2 x 3DHP + 4 x heat pipes rapidly dissipate heat from high-TDP CPUs to help reduce thermal throttling.
- AMD Contact Plate - Dedicated AMD metal bracket and different contact plate support AM5/AM4 for optimized thermal contact.
- Dual 120mm PWM Fans - Front fan delivers 89.6 CFM / 3.85 mmH2O; rear fan delivers 61.0 CFM / 2.0 mmH2O.
- LCP Stable Blades - Liquid Crystal Polymer blades reduce flex at high speed for steady cooling under heavy workloads.
- Easy Installation - Tool-free sliding fans glide out for memory access and easier installation without metal brackets.
Cooler Master’s EU store page for the AMD version says that its box includes LGA1700 and LGA1851 brackets, while the Intel version includes an AM4/AM5 bracket. Package contents can vary by SKU or region, so confirm the listing for the exact product you are buying. The EU page identifies black and white AMD models as MAM-T6HA-225PK-RB and MAM-T6HA-225PK-RW, respectively. Cooler Master EU AMD listing
Check the height before buying
The cooler measures 138.95 × 136.47 × 167.3 mm. The 167.3 mm height is the crucial case-clearance figure: compare it with your case manufacturer’s CPU-cooler clearance specification before purchase. The published dimensions do not establish how much room a particular case has.

How well does it cool?
In PC Gamer’s Prime95 comparison, the V8 Ace 3DHP reached a maximum of 76 °C and averaged 71 °C at approximately 230 W. The results were normalized to a 20 °C ambient reference, and the test used 1.325 V. In that same test, the Noctua NH-D15 G2 recorded 73 °C maximum and 66 °C average; the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE recorded 80 °C maximum and 71 °C average.

These figures describe that review’s Prime95 setup at approximately 230 W, not temperatures you should expect with any CPU, case, ambient temperature, or fan curve. Different systems and test methods can produce different results. Tom’s Hardware separately reported that its V8 Ace 3DHP test with a Ryzen 9 9950X3D exceeded 249 W at full fan speed and 245 W under a noise-normalized test. Those are outcomes from that review’s setup, not a universal CPU power rating. PC Gamer’s V8 Ace test and Tom’s Hardware review

- AMD compatibility: Specially designed for AMD processors and ensures optimal cooling performance.
- 3DHP TECHNOLOGY: Advanced 3D heatpipe technology for efficient heat dissipation from the processor.
- V8 ACE MODEL: Powerful V8 Ace design with eight heatpipes for maximum cooling efficiency.
- ELEGANT DESIGN: Simple black case blends harmoniously into any PC case.
- High-quality workmanship: robust materials and precise manufacturing ensure a long service life of the cooler.
How loud is it?
PC Gamer measured 48 dBA from 40 cm with the V8 Ace fans at 100% speed; the test’s noise floor was 35 dBA. That is a full-speed measurement at a stated distance, not a prediction of what you will hear with a quieter fan curve. Lowering fan speed may reduce noise, but it also changes cooling performance. If low noise matters, look for results taken at comparable distances and fan settings rather than relying on a general “quiet” label.
Price, availability, and value
Tom’s Hardware listed a $119.99 MSRP in its 2026 review. Cooler Master’s EU store displayed the black AMD listing at €109.90 including VAT and marked it out of stock when accessed on October 4, 2026. These are dated reference points, not current offers or an indication of availability in other regions; check local retailers for today’s price and stock.

- 3DHP Unrivaled Cooling: Hyper 212 3DHP Black uses two patented 3DHP heat pipes for 30% better cooling than standard designs.
- Quieter Operation: 3DHP minimizes radiator turbulence and reduces overall system fan noise up to 1.7x quieter than competing models.
- Engineered for Stability: Pre-installed with a ring blade fan, ensuring stable noise levels while effectively preventing high-frequency noise when paired with the module.
- Broad Compatibility: The Hyper 212 3DHP Black ARGB offers wide compatibility, supporting major CPU sockets across platforms and fitting in cases of various sizes.
- Mobius 120 Fan: Pre-installed Mobius fans deliver premium airflow with optimized PWM blades, while simplifying the installation.
At a price near those references, the comparison should be with coolers tested under similar conditions, not with claims that a single tower matches a dual tower. The PC Gamer results put the V8 Ace between the two named alternatives in maximum temperature and level with one in average temperature, while the full-speed noise result is a meaningful trade-off. Consider socket support, case clearance, sound at your intended fan setting, and local price together rather than treating cooling performance as the only measure of value.

What comes in the box?
Included mounting brackets depend on the exact platform version and regional SKU. Cooler Master’s EU AMD listing says the AMD box includes LGA1700 and LGA1851 brackets; Cooler Master describes the Intel version as including an AM4/AM5 bracket. Confirm the package contents on the seller’s exact listing before relying on cross-platform bracket support.
