How “Sibling Theme” grew from “The One I Once Knew”
In an interview with TechRadar published on 1 October 2026, composer Petri Alanko described “Sibling Theme” as a “subset of the origin theme.” Its starting point was an instrumental version of “The One I Once Knew,” but that earlier arrangement felt too vibrant for the scenes the new track needed to accompany.

Alanko said the music felt overwhelming beneath intimate, childhood-memory-driven moments. He tried alternatives, then tested the harmonies and melody on electric piano. That quieter approach worked where the more forceful version did not. As he put it, “a delicate moment needed a delicate solution.”

What the theme means for Jesse and Dylan
The track is tied to the relationship between Jesse and Dylan Faden, whose stories remain connected in CONTROL Resonant. Remedy’s official Steam announcement feed describes Dylan as the game’s playable protagonist and keeps Jesse central to the story. Alanko’s account places the theme in the siblings’ shared past rather than treating it simply as an action cue.

He said the music “carries the emotions, as if it soothes and comforts the siblings’ dented childhood memories.” He also praised the protagonists’ acting in the scene where the track plays, saying it brings a lot of emotions to the surface. Together, the musical restraint and performance make the piece a way into the Fadens’ difficult history.

TechRadar reported that the official soundtrack has 13 tracks and is available on music apps and YouTube. Its feature does not name individual streaming services, so availability on a particular app may depend on the service and region. In TechRadar’s embedded YouTube listing, the track is labeled “Sibling Theme (Broken Circuit)”; the feature’s headline and prose call it “Sibling Theme.”
