Remedy’s Game Update 1.4.0 adds an unlimited number of New Game ++ runs and says it has reduced the overall amount of combat and intensity in the Unknown Zone by 10%–15%. The patch also adds clearer loadout and upgrade indicators and a separate radio-dialogue volume control.
What does the new CONTROL Resonant update add?
Remedy’s official Game Update 1.4.0 notes describe changes to repeat play, the Unknown Zone, loadout information, upgrade notifications, vendor materials and audio settings, alongside bug fixes and other polish.

Unlimited New Game ++ runs
The notes say players can now play an infinite number of runs in New Game ++. They do not specify additional unlock requirements or what carries over between runs.

- Build Power is now displayed on the Loadout screen.
- The HUD signals when items are ready to buy or upgrade in The Gap.
- The map can show whether a Vendor has pinned upgrade materials.
A separate radio-dialogue volume control
A new slider controls radio-dialogue volume. It also lets players adjust the balance between speakers or headphones and the DualSense controller speaker.

How much less combat is there in the Unknown Zone?
Remedy’s patch notes say the overall amount of combat and intensity in the Unknown Zone decreased by 10%–15%. That is the publisher’s stated figure; the notes do not explain how it was calculated or say that every encounter was reduced uniformly. It should not be read as a guaranteed reduction of that size in each individual fight.
