To open The Park’s Mold Gate in Control Resonant, consume four Mold samples: one at the central pit and three at the Minimart, Pizzeria, and Gym. Visit the three outlying locations in any order. For the Gym sample, head to the northwestern area, follow the spore-covered route down, defeat the enemies guarding access, and take the sample from the reception desk. Then return to the central pit; walkthroughs report that the gate opens as you approach.
How The Park Resonant quest works
This is an optional quest in The Park. Its central objective is to collect and consume four Mold samples, which unlock the Mold Gate in the pit. The first sample is at the central pit; the other three are at the Minimart, Pizzeria, and Gym. The three outlying samples can be collected in any order, according to AllThingsHow’s walkthrough.

Walkthrough descriptions differ slightly on how to identify the initial sample: PowerPyx points to the map text “New Mold strains?” in the middle of The Park and says to drop into the hole, inspect the Mold, and eat it; AllThingsHow places it beside the sealed Gateway in the central pit. Use the in-game map marker and quest prompt if those descriptions do not line up with what you see. PowerPyx’s walkthrough and AllThingsHow’s guide provide these route details.

Gym: descend the spore-covered route
- Travel to the northwestern part of The Park and locate the spore-covered path.
- Follow the path down and defeat the enemies blocking the way to the building.
- Enter the Gym and take the Mold sample from the reception desk.
PowerPyx describes the route as a large spore-infested path and says enemies must be defeated to open the way. AllThingsHow also places the sample on the reception desk and advises clearing enemies around the building. These are walkthrough-reported steps, not independently tested here. Pizzeria: follow the underground route
To reach Paradise PIZZA PLACE, follow the underground walkway or sewer route described by the guides. Look for a round pipe and yellow FBC arrows leading toward the restaurant. PowerPyx reports that the sample interaction prompt may fail to appear while yellow fog is present; its suggested workaround is to attack the outside windows to clear the fog. That workaround is a guide-reported possibility and may vary by game version, so treat it as a fallback rather than a guaranteed fix. Return to the Mold Gate
After consuming all four samples—the central one plus the Minimart, Pizzeria, and Gym samples—return to the central pit. The guides say the Mold Gate opens as you approach; they describe no additional key or code. If it remains closed, check that you collected and consumed each of the four samples. The encounter beyond the gate is The Collective. The guides describe a sequence in which you clear its tentacles, then attack the exposed core or weak points. PowerPyx lists the post-encounter rewards as a choice between Spore Burst and Growth, the Untapped Face Mask, one Reset Item, and 3,000 Source.
