Where to find the Cat Picnic
Look in the Central zone for the Cat Picnic activity marker and a checkered blanket. Published walkthroughs describe the area differently: one places it on a lawn in the right-hand stretch of the Field Office area, another in a lower courtyard south of the Factory and Dig Site Threshold, and another on the upper-right side of the Field Office area. Those landmarks do not agree, so use the visible activity marker and blanket to confirm the puzzle rather than relying on a single landmark description. AllThingsHow and Control Resonant Help both describe the Cat Picnic activity in Central.

Approaching or stepping onto the blanket starts the activity and its dialogue, according to the walkthroughs.
How to arrange the picnic props
- Inspect the puzzle’s reference image or layout before moving anything. It shows the arrangement to reproduce.
- Move the three props indicated by the puzzle onto the checkered blanket, matching their positions to the reference.
- When all three are in place, activate the Draw prompt. Depending on your platform and control settings, the prompt may ask you to hold the button.
Written prop lists are inconsistent. One guide names a basket, carton, and teapot; other guide descriptions mention a basket, drink bottle, lucky cat statue, red cat food carton, or metal bowl. Since the written accounts do not establish a consistent set of names, identify the required items from the in-game layout instead of searching for a particular label.

How to finish and collect the sketch
After you arrange the props, use Draw and let Dylan complete the sketch. Walkthroughs report that the resulting Cat Picnic sketch or portrait is added to his collection as a Sketchbook page. One guide also reports an Undefined Reading, but that extra reward is not corroborated by the other accounts; check the notification shown in your game to see what you received.
If the puzzle does not complete
- The activity has not started: Approach the Cat Picnic marker and checkered blanket until the activity and dialogue trigger.
- Draw is unavailable: Recheck all three props against the in-game reference layout, then look for the Draw prompt. Follow the prompt shown for your current controls.
- A prop name does not match a guide: Trust the reference image and the objects presented at the puzzle. The written lists vary across guides.

TechRadar reported that Control Resonant was released on September 24, 2026, with availability on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. TechRadar’s September 18, 2026 report provides that release and platform context; it does not establish current retail stock or a physical edition.
