What is CONTROL Resonant?
CONTROL Resonant is Remedy Entertainment’s follow-up to 2019’s Control. It follows Dylan Faden through a paranaturally distorted Manhattan. Remedy describes it as an open-ended action-adventure RPG and says it is both a sequel and a new entry point. That means newcomers can begin with Resonant, while returning players will recognize the setting and broader universe.

The game is built around large zones rather than a strictly linear sequence of corridors. Exploration is mixed with side activities, hidden encounters, optional discoveries, supernatural abilities, and gravity anomalies. Those systems make the edition you buy mostly a question of access, ownership, and extras—not a choice between different campaigns or gameplay rules.

The September 24 date is a worldwide release date, not a guarantee that every store showed the same price, tax, pre-order offer, or stock level. Digital listings can change by country, and physical inventory can disappear after launch.

Choose Standard digital when access matters most
Standard digital is the least complicated choice if you already know which platform you will use and do not need a disc or collector packaging. It avoids shipping and stock issues and lets you install from the account that owns the purchase. Confirm that you are buying the current-generation listing—PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, rather than an incorrectly labeled older-console product—and read the storefront’s refund and pre-load terms.
Choose Digital Deluxe only for its confirmed current extras
Digital Deluxe is not automatically a DLC package. Remedy’s current help documentation identifies a bundle of present-day extras: cosmetics, a digital artbook, a soundtrack, resource items, and possible platform-specific early-access rules. The exact names, quantities, eligibility dates, and platform differences belong to the live help-center entry and store listing. Read those details before checkout, especially if a promotion or pre-order window is involved.

The important limitation is that the available official documentation does not announce a season pass and does not confirm that Digital Deluxe grants future paid expansions. Treat every sentence promising “all future DLC” as unverified unless Remedy publishes new terms.
Choose physical standard for ownership flexibility
A physical PS5 or Xbox Series X|S copy is sensible when you lend games, give them as gifts, prefer a shelf copy, or want the possibility of resale. A disc does not remove the need for console storage, patches, or an account for online services where applicable. Check the box and retailer page for the exact region and edition, because a physical listing can use the same headline while omitting a bonus advertised on a different SKU.
Choose a SteelBook only after checking the listing
SteelBook packaging is a collector feature, not evidence of additional story content. Verify whether the listing contains the game disc, a code, or only an empty case; confirm the console format; and check current stock. Retailers can use “SteelBook” in a title for a limited bundle whose contents differ by country.

Does Digital Deluxe include DLC?
There is no confirmed answer that it includes future DLC. The official edition and support materials establish current bonuses and pre-order rules, but they do not establish a season pass or an entitlement to expansions that Remedy might announce later. Buy Digital Deluxe for the extras that are listed now, not for an assumption about post-launch content.

“DLC” can mean two different things in store copy:
- Included launch bonuses: cosmetics, resource items, a soundtrack, an artbook, or another item delivered with a particular edition.
- Future paid content: a separately announced expansion, mission pack, or season pass entitlement.
Only the first category is currently documented for Digital Deluxe, and even those items should be checked against the live platform listing. If Remedy later announces an expansion, read the new terms to see whether it is sold separately, bundled into a new edition, or offered to existing owners.
What the original Control’s DLC history does—and does not—tell you
The 2019 Control eventually received two named expansions, The Foundation and AWE. That history explains why shoppers ask about DLC, but it is not evidence that CONTROL Resonant has an equivalent plan. Different games can have different support schedules, editions, and pricing. Do not use the original game’s expansion pattern to justify paying more for Digital Deluxe.

Yes, Remedy lists GeForce NOW support. Cloud play can be useful on a laptop, low-power desktop, television, or another supported device when you do not want a local installation. It can also reduce the need to meet the game’s full local PC graphics requirements.

GeForce NOW availability is not a permanent guarantee. Before subscribing or buying a copy specifically for streaming, check three live conditions:
- Search the GeForce NOW catalog from your country and confirm that CONTROL Resonant is currently listed.
- Check which membership level is required, including session, queue, resolution, and performance limits that may apply.
- Confirm that the service accepts the Steam or Epic Games Store edition you own and that your store and cloud-service accounts can be linked.
Your experience will also depend on the network connection, latency, data cap, and device you use. A supported title can still feel poor on an unstable connection, so treat cloud play as a convenience option rather than a substitute for every local installation.

Remedy says a Mac version through Steam and the App Store follows later in 2026. No specific day is established here, so do not rely on a retailer’s guessed date. Wait for the official listing or a newer Remedy announcement, then check the supported macOS version, Apple-silicon or Intel compatibility, storage requirement, graphics features, and whether the Mac build includes the same edition bonuses as the PC versions.
Do you need to play the first Control game?
No. Remedy positions CONTROL Resonant as a new entry point as well as a sequel. You can start with Dylan Faden’s story without completing the 2019 game.

How the game’s structure affects your edition decision
The large-zone design gives you reasons to return to areas, investigate hidden encounters, and pursue side activities beyond the main path. Supernatural abilities and gravity anomalies are part of the core experience, not bonuses locked to Digital Deluxe or a collector package. No edition described in the current materials changes the campaign’s fundamental zones or ability system.
That makes the practical decision simple: select the platform where you want to play, then pay extra only for packaging or current digital items you will actually use. Do not expect a higher edition to provide a different version of Manhattan or an alternate progression system.

- Separate launch bonuses from DLC. Do not treat current extras as proof of a future expansion or season pass.
