Company of Heroes 3’s 2.5.0 update brought two multiplayer maps, a refreshed lobby and gameplay changes. It arrived alongside Final Stand—a separate PC/Steam wave-defense experience, not a mode included in the main game’s update. Final Stand supports solo play or two-player co-op.
What came with Company of Heroes 3 update 2.5.0?
Update 2.5.0 bundled multiplayer and gameplay changes with two new maps. The official notes describe the initial balance work as focused on massed infantry; vehicle-massing changes were intended for a later update.

Two maps and a more flexible lobby
- Butcher & Bolt: a 1v1 map.
- Across the Savio: a 3v3 map.
- Lobby changes: players can select Battlegroups without leaving the lobby and restrict which Battlegroups AI opponents may choose.
The patch also adjusted pathing, infantry combat, suppression and faction balance. It was a broad update to the existing game, distinct from the separate Final Stand product. The official patch and announcement index is on Company of Heroes 3’s Steam announcements page.

Final Stand is a standalone wave-defense experience for PC/Steam, released alongside update 2.5.0 on July 29, 2026, according to the official launch announcement. Players build layered defenses and face increasingly difficult enemy waves; the mode is designed for one player or two-player co-op.

Waves, factions and replay options
The launch announcement lists 12 escalating waves, 36 boss units, 18 dynamic battlefield events and eight difficulty levels. These are the product’s published feature counts, not independent performance or review statistics. Enemies come from four factions: Wehrmacht, US Forces, British Forces and Deutsches Afrikakorps. Final Stand also includes multiple Battlegrounds and an Endless Mode.
Although it uses the Company of Heroes 3 setting, Final Stand is not simply a new mode unlocked by installing update 2.5.0. It was announced and sold as a standalone PC/Steam product. The launch announcement’s discounts were explicitly time-limited, so they should not be treated as current offers.

What changed after Final Stand launched?
Official hot-fix announcements dated July 30, July 31, August 7, September 8 and September 16, 2026 document post-launch changes. Among them, the July 30 update added a co-op lobby browser, and the July 31 update added Steam Cloud support for Final Stand perk saves. Later fixes addressed progression, gameplay, stability and exploits. The September 16 notes specifically say a bug that allowed Final Stand perks to be brought into multiplayer was fixed.
What is planned for update 3.0?
As of October 9, 2026, the newest official announcement scheduled update 3.0 for November 5, 2026. That date was still in the future at the time of the announcement, so its listed additions were plans, not released content.

These are announced feature counts; their inclusion in the plan does not establish that the update has since launched or that the final content will be unchanged.
