Coinme Crypto ATM Locations, Supported Coins, and Cash-Purchase Limits (2026)

Coinme does not use one universal ATM system. It operates three different cash channels: Coinstar kiosks for buying cryptocurrency, Coinme Cash retail checkouts for barcode-based purchases, and ReadyCode ATMs for collecting cash after selling crypto. Each channel has its own assets, limits, fees and workflow.

Use Coinme’s location map or the app’s Find a Location feature before traveling. Availability follows state regulations and can vary by individual retailer, kiosk and account. Identity verification is required for Coinme transactions, and the limit shown in your account is more authoritative than a general advertised maximum.

What counts as a Coinme crypto ATM location?

Coinme’s network includes several types of service points rather than a single machine model. Coinme says it has more than 40,000 U.S. locations across retail checkout counters, Coinstar kiosks and cash-out ATMs. The network is described as operating in 48 states; New York and Vermont are excluded. Coinstar has more than 6,000 kiosks for cash purchases, ReadyCode provides more than 20,000 cash-pickup ATMs, and Coinme Cash is available at more than 14,000 retail checkout counters.

Those totals are network-wide figures, not a promise that every location supports every coin or transaction type. A store may offer Coinme Cash while the nearest Coinstar kiosk is elsewhere, and a ReadyCode ATM may support selling but not buying. Check the selected location’s details immediately before leaving.

How to find the nearest location

  1. Open Coinme’s location map, or open the Coinme app and choose Find a Location.
  2. Allow location access or enter a city, ZIP code or address.
  3. Filter for the service you need: Coinstar kiosk, Coinme Cash retail checkout or ReadyCode cash-pickup ATM.
  4. Open the individual listing and verify its address, hours, channel and available transaction type. Do not assume a location shown for buying also supports cashing out.

Coinme’s Help Center directs customers to the map or app because availability is subject to state regulation. A location can disappear, change hours or have a lower limit than the network-wide figure.

Where Coinme is available

Coinme states that its service operates in 48 states and is unavailable in New York and Vermont. Even within a participating state, regulatory caps can differ by city, retailer and transaction channel. The app’s location result and your account’s limit screen are therefore the practical source of truth for a particular transaction.

Coinme channels compared

Channel Primary direction Where it operates Assets listed by Coinme Published limits Fee or workflow note
Coinstar Bitcoin ATM Buy crypto with cash Coinstar kiosks Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Polygon, Chainlink, Dogecoin, Stellar Lumens, XRP and Solana Most locations advertise up to $5,000 per day; location, state and account limits apply Use the kiosk’s on-screen purchase flow; a separate retail fee is not stated in the supplied Coinme material
Coinme Cash Buy crypto with cash Participating retail checkout counters The app shows the assets available for the selected location; the general Coinme asset list includes 11 assets $20 minimum per barcode; $1,000 at Walmart or $500 elsewhere per barcode; $1,500 daily, $3,500 weekly and $5,000 monthly Generate a barcode in the app and present it within one hour; published retail fee is $4.74 at Walmart and $3.95 at CVS, Walgreens and other listed retailers
ReadyCode Sell crypto and collect cash ReadyCode cash-pickup ATMs Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Solana, XRP, Stellar Lumens, Polygon, Chainlink, Dogecoin and USDC $20 increments; up to $400 per transaction and $2,000 per day by default State and location caps can be lower; the published material does not specify a universal settlement time

Buying crypto at a Coinstar kiosk

Coinstar kiosks are the Coinme channel intended for cash purchases at a physical Bitcoin ATM. Coinme says most locations allow purchases up to $5,000 per day, but that is an advertised ceiling rather than a guaranteed allowance. Your account, the kiosk’s state and the individual location can impose a lower maximum.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What you can buy

The Coinstar ATM page lists Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Polygon, Chainlink, Dogecoin, Stellar Lumens, XRP and Solana. This list is narrower than Coinme’s overall asset list, so an asset visible in the app may not be purchasable at a particular kiosk.

What to check before you go

  • Confirm that the listing is a Coinstar kiosk, not a Coinme Cash checkout or ReadyCode cash-out ATM.
  • Check the kiosk’s supported assets in the app or listing.
  • Review your personal daily and monthly limits under Account → Transaction Limits.
  • Check whether your state or the selected kiosk shows a lower cap than $5,000.

Coinme requires identity verification before transacting. The kiosk can still be physically nearby while your account remains unable to complete a purchase because verification or a personal limit has not been satisfied.

Buying with Coinme Cash at a retail checkout

Coinme Cash is a barcode workflow, not a crypto-dispensing ATM. You create a cash-payment barcode in the app, take it to a participating checkout counter and pay the requested amount. The crypto amount is determined by the market quote when the transaction is completed, so the amount shown can change with the quote.

Exact app workflow

  1. Open the Coinme app and choose Transact → Buy.
  2. Select Pay with Cash.
  3. Choose a participating retail location.
  4. Generate the payment barcode.
  5. Present the barcode at the selected retailer within one hour and pay in cash.

A scanned barcode counts toward your limit even if you do not finish the payment. Generate a barcode only when you are ready to visit the store, and create a new one if the one-hour window expires.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Coinme Cash limits

The Coinme guide dated May 1, 2026 specifies a $20 minimum for each barcode. The maximum is $1,000 per barcode at Walmart and $500 per barcode at other listed retailers. Aggregate limits are $1,500 per day, $3,500 per week and $5,000 per month. These are channel limits; your account or local regulation can reduce them.

Retail fees

The published retail fee is $4.74 at Walmart and $3.95 at CVS, Walgreens and other listed retailers. The final quantity of cryptocurrency depends on the market quote at completion, so the cash paid, fee and crypto received should be reviewed together before confirming.

Cashing out through a ReadyCode ATM

ReadyCode is the cash-pickup channel for selling crypto. It is not the same as a Coinstar buying kiosk. You initiate a sale through Coinme, receive a ReadyCode, and use that code at a participating cash-pickup ATM.

Supported assets

The ReadyCode page lists Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Solana, XRP, Stellar Lumens, Polygon, Chainlink, Dogecoin and USDC. USDC appears on this cash-pickup list even though it is not listed on the Coinstar purchase page.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

ReadyCode limits and denominations

Coinme’s published default is $20 increments, up to $400 per transaction and $2,000 per day. State and individual-location limits can be lower. If the amount you want exceeds the per-transaction limit, split it only when your remaining daily allowance and the app permit another transaction.

The supplied Coinme information does not establish one guaranteed settlement time for every ReadyCode sale. Blockchain confirmation, account checks, the selected asset and local rules can affect when a code becomes usable. Treat the app’s status and the ATM’s acceptance message as controlling rather than assuming an immediate payout.

Which coins are supported?

Coinme publishes different lists for different channels. The main Coinme page lists 11 current assets: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, Dogecoin, Chainlink, Litecoin, Polygon, Stellar Lumens, USDC, BTCD and FISC. That broader list should not be read as a promise that all 11 are available at a kiosk or cash-pickup ATM.

The app’s asset list for the selected location is authoritative. If a coin is missing from that screen, do not travel expecting the machine or retailer to support it.

How Coinme limits work

Advertised channel limits versus your account limit

Coinme’s public figures describe maximums under specified conditions. They do not override your personal compliance status, state law or a partner’s rules. Open Account → Transaction Limits in the app to see your personal daily and monthly ceilings before initiating a purchase or sale.

State-specific examples

Coinme’s limits article gives examples of lower state caps: California has a $1,000 daily cap for ReadyCode sells and Coinstar buys; New Mexico has a $1,000 daily cap; and Connecticut has a $2,500 Coinstar kiosk purchase limit. Coinme says these examples are not a complete list and may change.

Developer-documented KYC ceilings

Coinme’s developer KYC table documents $20,000 per day and $100,000 per month for debit-card purchases, and $2,000 per day and $60,000 per month for cash sells. Those figures are separate from the retail cash channels described above, and partner-specific KYC requirements can change them. Do not use the debit-card numbers as a cash-kiosk allowance.

Identity checks, fees and common failure points

Identity verification

Coinme states: “Identity verification is required to transact on Coinme.” Verification status can determine whether a location or payment method is usable and can affect the limit displayed in your account.

When a location or coin is unavailable

Recheck the selected service type and open the location details in the app. A Coinstar result is for buying, a ReadyCode result is for selling, and a Coinme Cash result is for barcode payment. If the asset is not shown for that location, choose another supported asset or another location rather than relying on the general Coinme list.

When a transaction is rejected

  • Review Account → Transaction Limits; a generated or scanned barcode can consume allowance even when payment was not completed.
  • Check the state and retailer cap, which may be below the advertised network maximum.
  • For Coinme Cash, confirm that the barcode is less than one hour old and that you are at the selected retailer.
  • For ReadyCode, verify that the sale uses a $20 increment and stays within the $400 transaction and $2,000 daily defaults unless the app shows lower values.
  • Complete identity verification if the app requests it before allowing another transaction.

Choosing the right Coinme channel

  • Choose Coinstar when you want to buy one of the assets listed for a kiosk with physical cash and the location’s purchase limit is sufficient.
  • Choose Coinme Cash when a participating retail checkout is more convenient than a kiosk or when you need the barcode workflow. Account for the retailer fee, one-hour barcode window and aggregate cash limits.
  • Choose ReadyCode when you are selling supported crypto and need cash pickup. Check the per-transaction, daily and state limits before sending the sale.

In every case, confirm the exact location, channel, supported asset and personal limit in the app on the day of the transaction. Coinme’s published maximums are useful planning figures, but the selected location and your verified account determine what can actually be completed.
