Most Cobblemon commands are available only when cheats are enabled, and the command text itself does not grant access. On a server, your operator level, permission plugin, Cobblemon version, loader and server software determine who can run each command. Use the official command reference for syntax, then test permissions in your exact installation before giving staff access.
Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks, a built-in mod installer and up to three free backups a day.
This guide maps the commands by what they affect, identifies destructive operations, and shows how to design safer admin permissions.

The official Cobblemon command list is a syntax baseline for spawning, party editing, healing, moves, items, PC management, battles, Pokédex entries, NPCs and developer tools. The wiki states that cheats must be enabled for the listed commands. In single-player this normally means enabling cheats for the world; on a dedicated server, the practical gate is usually the server’s operator system or a permissions plugin layered on top of it.
Do not assume that a command documented for one release behaves identically in another. Confirm the installed Cobblemon version, the mod loader and the server software, and then run the command in-game. A permissions plugin can also rename, alias or expose commands differently from the documentation.

Target scope determines the risk
| Scope | Typical commands | What can happen | Operational risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your own player or party | /givepokemon, /pokemonedit, /pc, /pokemonrestart |
Grants, changes or resets your data | Low to medium, depending on whether the action is reversible |
| Another player | /givepokemonother, /pokemoneditother, /takepokemon, /clearparty |
Changes or removes a named player’s Pokémon | High; reserve for trusted staff |
| Coordinates or world position | /spawnpokemonat, /checkspawn |
Creates entities or evaluates spawning at a location | Medium; entity-heavy use can affect performance |
| Global or bulk data | /spawnallpokemon, Pokédex grants |
Creates many entities or changes broad collection data | High on busy or low-resource servers |
Give, edit and remove Pokémon
Give a Pokémon to yourself or another player
/givepokemon <pokemon> [attributes] gives the specified Pokémon to the command user. To target someone else, use /givepokemonother <target> <pokemon> [attributes]. The optional attributes portion is version-dependent; use the syntax accepted by your installed release rather than copying an example from a different version.
Because the second form writes directly to another player’s data, keep it out of ordinary member roles. A safer workflow is to test the command on a noncritical account and record the target, species and attributes in your staff log.
Edit a party slot
/pokemonedit <slot> [pokemon / attributes] edits one of your party entries. For another player, use /pokemoneditother <target> <slot> [pokemon / attributes]. Check the slot number and current party before submitting; an incorrect slot can modify a different Pokémon than intended.
Remove a Pokémon from someone else’s party
/takepokemon <target> <slot> removes the Pokémon in the selected party slot from the target. Treat this as a destructive moderation action: verify the player name and slot, and obtain confirmation through your server’s staff process before running it.
Rank #2
- ULTIMATE COLLECTION — Includes Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition, five Bedrock add-ons, five exclusive Character Creator items, and 1000 Minecoins.
- CREATE YOUR WORLD — Build whatever you imagine in an infinite world that’s unique in every playthrough.
- EXPLORE AND CRAFT — Discover biomes, resources, and mobs, then craft your way through a sandbox world filled with surprises.
- SURVIVE THE ADVENTURE — Face mysterious foes, travel across exciting landscapes, and venture into perilous dimensions.

Heal, level, teach moves and manage held items
Healing and level changes
/healpokemon [target]heals a party. Omitting the optional target applies the command to the user; supplying a target heals that player’s party./levelup <target> <slot>raises the selected party Pokémon by one level./teach <target> <slot> <move>teaches a move to the selected Pokémon.
These commands modify gameplay state without deleting a whole party, but they can still undermine progression. Consider placing them in a support role rather than a general moderator role.
Held items
/held_item <target> <slot> <item> changes the held item for a Pokémon in the target’s party. Confirm the item identifier used by your version and check the selected slot before applying it.
Move Pokémon into PC storage
/pokebox <target> <slot> [box] moves a party Pokémon to a PC box. The optional box argument lets you choose the destination when supported by your release. This is less destructive than deleting a Pokémon, but a mistaken target or slot can still disrupt a player’s team; restrict it to staff who understand the party and PC layout.
/pc opens the command user’s PC interface. It is useful for an administrator who needs to inspect or organize their own storage without travelling to a PC block. It does not, by itself, open another player’s PC.
Rank #3
- CREATE YOUR WORLD — Build whatever you imagine in an infinite world that is unique in every playthrough.

Commands that erase or reset data
Use the following commands only with a documented reason and a verified target:
/clearparty <target>clears the target’s party./clearpc <target>clears the target’s PC storage./pokemonrestartresets the command user’s Pokémon data./pokemonrestartother <target>resets another player’s Pokémon data.
The official wiki warns that, in its documented 1.4 behavior, the clear commands do not ask for confirmation and erase data immediately. Before granting these permissions, take a server backup, explain the consequence to staff, and use a two-person approval rule for player-targeting resets. Do not treat a successful command response as proof that a backup exists.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsSpawn Pokémon and inspect natural spawning
Spawn at your location or coordinates
/spawnpokemon <pokemon> [attributes]spawns a specified Pokémon at the command user’s location./spawnpokemonat <x> <y> <z> <pokemon> [attributes]spawns it at explicit coordinates./spawnallpokemonattempts to spawn one of every available Pokémon. The official reference cautions that this can slow low-end computers, so avoid it on a live world with players nearby.
Force or check natural spawns
/spawnpokemonfrompool [number] attempts to force natural spawning from the configured pool. It can fail when the configured spawn limits would be exceeded; a failure does not necessarily indicate a permissions problem.
/checkspawn <rarity> checks the spawn chance for the specified rarity at the player’s exact position. Test from the location where the spawn is expected, because moving a few blocks or changing the environment can change the result.

Starter selection
/openstarterscreen <target> opens the starter-selection interface for a specified player. Use the exact in-game player name and make sure the recipient is online if your server version requires an active player.

Battles and Pokédex administration
End or leave battles
/stopbattle <target> stops the target’s current battle. /abandonmultiteam removes the command user from a multi-battle team. These are useful for stuck battle states, but stopping a battle can affect both participants, so explain the intervention before using it when possible.
Grant or revoke Pokédex entries
The Pokédex command supports broad and narrow changes:
/pokedex grant <player> all <dex>grants all entries for the selected dex./pokedex grant <player> only <species> <form>grants a specific species and form.- Use the corresponding
revokeform to remove entries.
Use the narrow only form when correcting a single missing entry. Reserve an all grant for a deliberate event or migration, since it changes a player’s entire collection record.
Best Value
- Play and share with friends on console, mobile and Windows 10
- discover community creations in the new in-game store
- access new mini games and game modes through servers
NPC commands and their experimental status
The wiki marks NPC functionality as experimental. The command set includes:
/spawnnpcand/spawnnpcatto create NPCs, including at coordinates./npcdeleteto remove an NPC./npceditto edit an NPC./applyplayertextureto apply a player texture.
Because these features are experimental, test them in a staging world first and expect syntax or behavior to change between Cobblemon releases. Keep NPC permissions separate from routine moderation permissions.
Developer and testing utilities
The official reference also lists commands intended for development, debugging or controlled testing:
/bedrockparticle/cobblemon info/freezepokemon/opendialogue/runmolangscript/changeeyeheight/changescaleandsize/changewalkspeed
Do not expose this group to regular players simply because a command appears harmless. Scripting, movement changes and entity-freezing tools can produce confusing states or interfere with testing. Grant them to developers in a test environment, and verify each command against the installed version before documenting it for your team.
How to design Cobblemon permissions safely
Start with the server’s actual access model
- Enable cheats as required by the world or server configuration.
- Check the server operator level and confirm which staff accounts are OP.
- Identify the permissions plugin and loader-specific integration used by the server.
- Run a harmless command, such as opening your own PC, from a test account to confirm the effective permission path.
- Record the Cobblemon version, loader and server software alongside your permission configuration.
Use least privilege
| Role | Suitable examples | Keep out of this role |
|---|---|---|
| Player support | Self-service healing or starter support where your rules allow it | Other-player edits, clears and restarts |
| Moderator | Battle intervention and carefully logged support commands | Bulk Pokédex grants, PC wipes and scripting tools |
| Senior administrator | /givepokemonother, /pokemoneditother, /pokebox and other targeted corrections |
Unlogged use of destructive resets |
| Developer or owner | NPC and testing utilities in a controlled environment | Routine use on the production world without a rollback plan |
Permission nodes are not universal
An unofficial CobbleDex reference describes node patterns such as cobblemon.command.example and Minecraft fallback levels. Treat those names as a cross-check, not a guarantee. Node registration and fallback behavior can differ by Cobblemon release, loader and permissions implementation. Inspect the permissions plugin’s live command tree or log output, then test an allow and a deny with separate accounts.
Quick Recap
Troubleshoot a missing or failing command
- Confirm the command is present. Type the root command or use in-game completion. If it does not appear, the feature may have moved, been renamed or not loaded.
- Check cheats and operator status. A syntactically correct command still fails when cheats are disabled or the account lacks the required operator or plugin grant.
- Match documentation to the installed build. Compare the Cobblemon version, loader and server software with the documentation you are reading.
- Verify arguments. Recheck player names, party slots, coordinates, species, forms, move names and item identifiers. Optional attributes are especially version-sensitive.
- Test without the permission plugin. In a safe staging copy, determine whether the failure is Cobblemon syntax or a permissions mapping issue.
- Check limits and world conditions. Spawn-pool commands can fail when configured limits are reached, and bulk spawning can cause severe lag.
- Mark uncertain syntax for in-game testing. Do not invent an alias or permission node when the installed command tree does not confirm it.
Administrator checklist
- Back up the world before any party, PC or restart operation.
- Verify the target and slot twice for commands affecting another player.
- Use a noncritical account to test new grants.
- Separate support, moderation, senior-admin and developer permissions.
- Log every destructive or bulk action, including who authorized it.
- Recheck commands after Cobblemon, loader, server or permissions-plugin updates.
