The TECNO POVA 8 5G has the higher listed refresh rate and a substantially larger rated battery; the CMF Phone 2 Pro has an AMOLED display and a stated six-year update period. Neither advantage settles which phone is the better buy: real-world endurance, camera quality, and local price are not established by the manufacturer specifications alone. TECNO’s specifications cited here are from its Lebanon regional page, so check that your local POVA 8 5G is the same model.
First, make sure it is the standard POVA 8 5G
TECNO POVA 8 5G and TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G are separate phones. The specifications in this comparison are for the standard POVA 8 5G, using TECNO’s Lebanon page. The Pro model has different hardware, including a Dimensity 7400 Ultimate, a 6,500mAh battery, a 1.5K 144Hz AMOLED display, and a 50MP OIS plus 8MP ultrawide rear-camera system; those specifications do not apply to the standard POVA 8 5G. TECNO’s standard POVA 8 5G specifications and its POVA 8 Pro 5G specifications identify the distinction.

Which display is the better fit?
Both phones are around 6.8 inches and list roughly Full HD resolution. TECNO lists the higher maximum refresh rate: 144Hz compared with CMF’s adaptive refresh up to 120Hz. A higher ceiling can allow smoother motion in supported content, but it does not by itself establish how often the phone uses that rate or how the displays compare in brightness, color, or outdoor visibility.

The panel descriptions are materially different. Nothing identifies CMF’s display as flexible AMOLED. TECNO describes the standard POVA 8 5G panel as Eye-Care, without calling it AMOLED on the cited Lebanon page. Do not infer the standard model has the Pro’s AMOLED panel. Choose CMF if AMOLED is a priority; consider TECNO’s faster stated refresh if that ceiling matters more to you.
Does the POVA’s larger battery mean longer battery life?
TECNO lists an 8,000mAh battery, compared with CMF’s 5,000mAh rating, and 45W charging versus 33W. That is a clear capacity advantage on paper, but it is not a measured endurance result. Screen brightness, refresh settings, software, signal conditions, and workload all affect runtime. Neither cited product page establishes comparative battery life or charging time, so the listed capacity and charging wattage cannot prove how long either phone lasts or how quickly it reaches a full charge in use.

What do the chipset and camera numbers establish?
Performance
The CMF’s listed Dimensity 7300 Pro 5G has a stated maximum CPU clock of 2.5GHz; TECNO lists the Dimensity 7100 5G up to 2.4GHz. Clock speed and chipset names are not a standardized head-to-head test. Nothing advertises a “710,000+ Antutu Score,” but that is a manufacturer-reported claim, not an independent result comparing these two phones. The available specifications do not settle which feels faster in games, multitasking, or sustained workloads.

TECNO lists a 50MP autofocus rear camera and 13MP front camera. Nothing describes a multi-camera system on the CMF product page. Megapixel counts alone do not establish image quality, and the sources cited here do not provide controlled comparative camera testing. Check the exact camera configuration and independently assessed photo results for your region’s version if camera performance is decisive.

What software support and accessories are stated?
Nothing’s global product page says the CMF Phone 2 Pro “will get updates for 6 years starting from when the device first became available on nothing.tech.” That is Nothing’s stated policy and its clock is tied to availability on that site. The cited TECNO Lebanon specifications page lists HiOS 16 based on Android 16 but does not state a comparable update period. That absence on the page is not proof that TECNO offers no support; it means the same duration cannot be compared from these sources.
Nothing lists a USB-C cable, pre-applied screen protector, phone case, SIM ejector, and safety/warranty information in the CMF box. The cited TECNO specification page does not provide comparable box contents. Confirm the retail package with the seller, especially if buying a regional or imported unit.
Can you compare their prices?
Not responsibly without choosing a country and matching the storage and RAM variants. The available comparison result does not establish a current price for either phone. TECNO’s cited specifications are regional to Lebanon, and local model availability or pricing elsewhere may differ. For a useful price comparison, check current listings from sellers in the same country, for equivalent memory configurations, and record the seller and date. If both exact models are not sold in your market, there is no fair local price gap to report.

Quick Recap
Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the CMF Phone 2 Pro if you want the explicitly listed AMOLED panel or value Nothing’s stated six-year update period. Its battery is rated lower than TECNO’s.
- Consider the TECNO POVA 8 5G if its 8,000mAh rated battery, 144Hz listed refresh ceiling, or 45W charging spec is more compelling, and you have confirmed the regional model matches the Lebanon specifications.
- Wait to decide on price or camera performance until you can compare local, like-for-like listings and credible tests. The cited specifications do not establish which phone is cheaper, lasts longer in practice, or takes better photos.
