The Moto G96 5G has the stronger spec sheet for a high-refresh display, IP68-rated protection, stereo speakers and a larger battery. The CMF Phone 2 Pro is the more flexible pick if you want a dedicated 2x optical telephoto camera, expandable storage or the longer software-support schedule reported for it. A price snapshot accessed on October 7, 2026 showed an ₹8,990 gap, but one phone was out of stock and the variants may not match—so check current availability and like-for-like prices before deciding.

Price difference in India
On October 7, 2026, 91mobiles displayed the CMF Phone 2 Pro at ₹18,999, marked “Out of Stock,” and the Moto G96 5G at ₹27,989 via Amazon. Subtracting those displayed amounts gives a gap of ₹8,990, with the CMF listing lower. This is a dated retailer snapshot, not a guaranteed offer: the CMF was unavailable at the time and the listings were not confirmed as matching storage variants. Check current stock, seller and configuration before treating the gap as a buying advantage. The Moto figure was not presented as an official Motorola price.

Which phone suits your priorities?
Choose the Moto G96 5G for its display, protection and audio specifications
- Its listed 144Hz refresh rate is higher than the CMF phone’s 120Hz, although refresh rate alone does not establish overall display quality.
- Its IP68 rating is stronger than the IP54 rating listed for the CMF. These ratings describe different levels of ingress protection; neither means a phone is damage-proof.
- It has stereo speakers and a 5,500mAh rated battery, compared with the CMF’s listing without stereo speakers and 5,000mAh battery. Capacity does not prove longer real-world battery life.
- Its 32MP front camera has higher listed resolution than the CMF’s 16MP front camera. Megapixels alone do not determine selfie quality.
Choose the CMF Phone 2 Pro for telephoto and expandable storage
- Its dedicated 50MP telephoto camera offers 2x optical zoom. The Moto instead specifies OIS on its 50MP main camera; these are different hardware features, and neither specification alone proves which takes better photos.
- MicroSD expansion is reported for the CMF, up to 2TB, while the Moto’s storage is explicitly non-expandable. Confirm supported card compatibility and capacity for the exact CMF handset before buying.
- Its 6.77-inch display is slightly larger than the Moto’s 6.67-inch panel, while the Moto supports the higher refresh rate.
- The reported software-support schedule is longer: three OS upgrades and six years of security updates, versus Motorola’s one OS upgrade and three years of security maintenance releases. The CMF schedule comes from a comparison listing; confirm the current policy with Nothing before relying on it.
Camera, performance and battery: what the specs do not settle
The phones use different chipsets, but their core counts and clock speeds are not a like-for-like performance test. The available specifications do not establish a matched independent benchmark, so choose based on the features and configuration you need rather than assuming one processor is faster.
The camera hardware points to different strengths: CMF supplies a dedicated optical telephoto lens, while Moto lists optical image stabilisation on its main camera. Actual results depend on more than the camera labels; these specifications do not establish a photo-quality winner. Likewise, a 500mAh battery-capacity difference does not establish which phone lasts longer in comparable use.

How to make a fair price comparison
- Pick the same storage configuration—128GB or 256GB—on both phones. Both list 8GB RAM, but only the CMF is reported to support expandable storage.
- Compare the final price from the same type of seller and check whether the listing is in stock. Treat the October 7, 2026 figures above only as a historical snapshot.
- Check the exact model and India-market specifications, including storage and protection rating, on the seller’s listing before payment.
- Decide whether a price premium is worth the features you will use: the Moto’s higher refresh rate, stereo audio and IP68 rating, or the CMF’s telephoto camera and reported storage expansion.
