For an India-based buyer, the clearest documented advantage of the Samsung Galaxy M36 5G is its official promise of six Android upgrade generations and six years of security updates. The CMF Phone 2 Pro stands out on the listed camera hardware, with a dedicated telephoto camera, while Samsung specifies optical image stabilisation (OIS) on its 50 MP main camera. Neither the available price information nor the camera specifications establish which phone is the better value or takes better photos today.

Which phone is the better fit?
Choose based on camera framing and stabilisation
The listed camera arrangements offer different tools, not a proven photo-quality winner. CMF’s dedicated telephoto camera gives it a separate lens for a tighter perspective; Samsung’s main camera is specified with OIS, a hardware stabilisation feature. Megapixel counts and lens lists alone cannot establish image quality, low-light performance or video results.
Prioritise long-term software support?
Samsung’s six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates are an explicit commitment in its June 2025 launch announcement. The three-year OS and six-year security figures for CMF appear in 91mobiles’ listing, rather than a current official Nothing support statement, so treat that side of the comparison as unconfirmed.

Compare display and performance in context
Both phones are listed with 120 Hz displays, and their stated screen sizes are close. Samsung explicitly identifies its panel as FHD+ Super AMOLED; 91mobiles lists the CMF screen as AMOLED at 1080 × 2392. Those details do not substitute for comparable brightness, colour, outdoor visibility or viewing tests.
The chipset names alone also do not show how either phone will feel in your apps. 91mobiles lists AnTuTu scores of 688,050 for CMF Phone 2 Pro and 597,495 for Galaxy M36 on its comparison page. These are that publisher’s figures, not results from testing for this article or a universal measure of everyday speed; benchmark results can vary with test conditions and software.

What is the price difference in India?
An exact current price difference cannot be stated from the available figures: they do not give same-day prices for both phones in matching RAM and storage configurations. Nothing’s India product page shows an 8 GB + 128 GB selection but no price in the retrieved listing. Samsung’s figures below are historical introductory prices announced on 30 June 2025, not current offers.
| Galaxy M36 5G configuration | Samsung’s announced India introductory price | Price qualification |
|---|---|---|
| 6 GB + 128 GB | ₹16,499 | Includes a stated ₹1,000 instant bank discount in Samsung’s 2025 announcement. |
| 8 GB + 128 GB | ₹17,999 | Introductory price announced by Samsung in June 2025. |
| 8 GB + 256 GB | ₹20,999 | Introductory price announced by Samsung in June 2025. |
To calculate a useful price gap before buying, compare the same RAM and storage tier where available, and note the seller, date, stock status and any bank or exchange offer. The M36’s listed launch channels were Samsung.com, Amazon and selected retailers, with sales scheduled to start on 12 July 2025; Nothing’s India product page links to Flipkart. Those manufacturer-listed channels are not confirmation of current stock or prices.

Buying recommendation
Based on the documented commitments and specifications, the Galaxy M36 is the more straightforward choice if a clearly stated long-term Android and security update promise is your priority. Consider CMF Phone 2 Pro if its listed telephoto camera better matches how you frame shots. For either one, verify the exact Indian variant and live selling price; the available launch figures cannot tell you which is cheaper now, and the listed camera hardware cannot settle which produces better results.
