To recruit Cly Kullervo in Star Wars Zero Company, continue the campaign until she appears at The Den and offers to join in exchange for help with her personal mission. Guides place the scene around Cycle 14. Choose “Hire Cly” if you want her in your squad; guides report that she joins without a credit fee, though the extent of the commitment to her later missions is not settled.
How to recruit Cly Kullervo
- Continue the campaign. Cly is an authored character who joins through a story scene, not a randomly generated recruit or a character-creation menu.
- Check The Den around Cycle 14. All Things How places her arrival around Cycle 14. VULKK reports that she appears between Cycles 13 and 14 during “The Umbaran Connection,” when Neesh introduces her in Hawks’ office.
- Choose “Hire Cly.” Her offer is to work with Zero Company in return for help pursuing her marks through the company’s intelligence network. All Things How and VULKK report no credit cost.
VULKK reports that selecting “Don’t Hire Cly” initially can lead to another opportunity to reconsider. Treat that as a reported behavior, not a guaranteed second chance: official game pages do not specify the refusal branch or confirm whether declining permanently closes the option.

Should you hire Cly or turn her down?
If you want Cly as an operator and want access to her personal story, hiring her is the direct choice. Her recruitment is reported to cost no credits, but “free” does not mean there is no campaign trade-off: her story operations may compete with other operator missions or pressure from the Infinite Coil.

Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Guides disagree about whether her later missions can be declined or deferred. All Things How describes later missions as optional, while VULKK and GamesRadar+ warn that they can disrupt campaign plans. The available official sources do not resolve the disagreement, so do not assume either that every mission is compulsory or that you can safely ignore all of them. Read the dialogue and review your current campaign schedule before committing to a mission.

When do Cly’s personal missions happen?
Independent guides describe two operations in Cly’s personal story, but their reported timing and naming do not fully align. Use these as approximate guide reports rather than fixed triggers; campaign pacing, state, or game updates may affect when they appear.
| Operation | Guide-reported timing and details |
|---|---|
| “Best Served Cold” | All Things How places it on Cycle 20; VULKK places it around Cycles 21–22. |
| Later Cly operation | All Things How calls it “Without Honor or Mercy” and says it follows Order 66 and Hawks’ infection by the Coil. VULKK reports a second Cly operation around Cycles 35–36, using different title wording. |
Because the guides differ, check the operation title and available choice in your own save rather than relying on a precise cycle number or assuming the later mission follows the same schedule in every playthrough.

What Cly brings to combat
Lucasfilm describes Cly as an infamous Mandalorian gunslinger and one of the last surviving members of the ancient Clan Verminoth. Independent gameplay guides highlight her Mandalorian equipment, jetpack mobility and electrified darts. All Things How describes the jetpack as a movement and knockback action, and says the darts can be detonated with an area attack.
All Things How recommends pairing her with a pistol and managing Advantage to combine attacks and abilities. That is the guide’s tactical advice, not an official build requirement. More broadly, Zero Company is a single-player, turn-based tactics game: combat pauses while you choose operator actions, then the opponent takes a turn. Squad development and relationships connect the battle and story layers.

Who Cly is in the campaign
Cly is an original, authored Star Wars character rather than a procedurally generated squad member. Lucasfilm identifies her as a Mandalorian gunslinger and survivor of Clan Verminoth. In the game, the player controls Hawks, a former Republic officer, and assembles a squad of original and custom characters during the twilight of the Clone Wars. The official game description emphasizes squad bonds and tactical abilities as parts of the campaign.
