They are not direct equivalents: Cloudflare Pages and Workers provide a deployment platform, while Bluehost sells conventional hosting plans. Your site’s features and the way you want to manage it matter more than a blanket winner.
How Cloudflare and Bluehost differ
Cloudflare Pages serves static files and can run server-side code through Pages Functions. Cloudflare’s documentation says Workers supports most Pages use cases with a broader feature set and recommends Workers for new application projects. Bluehost’s cited plans, by contrast, sell managed WordPress or general web hosting with features such as storage, a migration tool, CDN, updates and support. Those differences make this a comparison of hosting models as much as providers.

Choose Cloudflare for static sites and developer-led applications
Pages can suit a site made of prebuilt files, or an application designed for Cloudflare’s deployment and edge-code workflow. Static asset requests are free and unlimited under Cloudflare’s documented Pages pricing model. If requests invoke Functions, they count under Workers pricing, so cost depends on whether code runs and on request and CPU usage. The Workers Paid plan has a $5 monthly minimum and includes specified usage, with additional charges above its thresholds. Check the current Pages Functions pricing and Workers pricing for the applicable limits and rates.

Choose Bluehost for a directly managed WordPress installation
Bluehost’s WordPress plans are designed for a conventional WordPress installation, with plan features and support listed on its pricing page. This is the more straightforward direction if you want to manage your site through WordPress and a hosting dashboard rather than build and deploy through a developer workflow.
The cited US WordPress pricing page, checked in 2026, lists these prices for a 36-month term:
Rank #2
| Bluehost WordPress plan | Introductory price | Renewal price | Listed storage | Estimated monthly visits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $3.99/month for 36 months | $9.99/month | 10 GB | 40,000 |
| Business | $6.99/month for 36 months | $13.99/month | 50 GB | 200,000 |
These are vendor-stated figures on the US WordPress pricing page, not independently verified capacity guarantees. The introductory rates assume the stated 36-month term; renewal is at a different rate. Do not assume the figures apply in other markets or to Bluehost’s separate web-hosting plans.

What a WordPress move to Cloudflare Pages entails
Cloudflare documents a way to export a WordPress site as static files with the Simply Static plugin and deploy those files on Pages. That creates a static representation, not a managed WordPress installation on Pages.
Rank #3
- WordPress forms, comments and internal administration routes are not supported on the resulting static site.
- When content changes, the static files need another export and deployment.
- The Cloudflare guide notes that automatic updates are unavailable with the free version of Simply Static.
- The original WordPress installation can remain separately hosted as the editing and content source.
See Cloudflare’s static WordPress deployment guide. If your site relies on dynamic plugins or WordPress routes, assess how those features would be replaced before considering this architecture.
Limits and costs to check before choosing Cloudflare
Cloudflare’s pricing depends on what the project does, not just how many files it serves. Static asset requests and code execution are treated differently. The documented Workers limits list a Free plan limit of 100,000 requests per day and 10 milliseconds of CPU time per invocation. The Paid plan limit table allows up to five minutes of CPU time per invocation, subject to configured limits and pricing. Review the current Workers limits alongside pricing; a higher execution ceiling does not by itself determine the cost of a workload.

Make the decision by workflow, not by a speed claim
- Site behavior: A static site or Cloudflare-oriented application points toward Cloudflare. A database-backed WordPress site that depends on dynamic routes, forms, comments or plugins points toward a conventional managed WordPress host unless you are prepared to redesign those features.
- How you work: Cloudflare is suited to people comfortable with source control, builds, deployment and edge configuration. Bluehost is suited to people who want a hosting dashboard and direct WordPress administration.
- What the price covers: For Cloudflare, estimate static requests and any Functions or Workers execution. For Bluehost, compare the full term and renewal rate for the exact hosting product, and check whether you need add-ons.
- Resources and support: Compare Bluehost’s vendor-listed storage and estimated visit tiers with Cloudflare’s project and execution limits. Check the support included in the exact Bluehost plan; with a Cloudflare deployment, consider who will maintain the deployment workflow and, for a static WordPress setup, the separate source installation.
Neither provider is established as faster or more reliable for every site by the cited documentation; no controlled comparative benchmark supports a universal performance ranking. Cloudflare’s stated product direction is that Workers is its primary platform for building applications and that new projects should start there, as described in the Pages overview.
