None of those pages establishes a permanent catalog guarantee, a universal subscription tier, or one worldwide price, so verify the terms shown for your account and country.

Steam’s published requirements target two different presets. Minimum specifications are intended for 1080p at 30 frames per second on low settings; recommended specifications target 1080p at 60 frames per second on high settings. Those are storefront performance notes, not a promise for every scene, driver version, or background workload.

A 64-bit operating system and processor are required. The game needs an SSD, not merely 55 GB of free space on any drive. Leave additional headroom for temporary installation files, patches, and normal Windows operation; the 55 GB figure is the listed game requirement, not a recommended free-space reserve.
How to check Windows and hardware
- Press
Windows + I, open System, then About to see your Windows edition, system type, processor, and installed RAM. - Press
Windows + R, enterdxdiag, and select OK. The System tab shows DirectX information; the Display tabs show your graphics adapter and video memory. - Open Settings > System > Storage and confirm that the target SSD has substantially more free space than the listed 55 GB.
If your machine falls between the two tables, expect to tune resolution, quality, and frame-rate settings. The published notes do not define performance targets for intermediate hardware.
Download and install from Steam
- Install or open the official Steam client and sign in to the account that will own the game.
- Use Steam’s store search for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Confirm that the listing is the Windows PC version before purchasing.
- Review the current local price, edition details, and any regional restrictions shown on the live listing. Prices and promotions can change.

Use PC Game Pass through Xbox
Xbox’s official listing says the game is included with Game Pass to play on PC. Because subscription catalogs and eligibility can vary by region and can change over time, confirm that the title is displayed as available for your account before starting an installation.
- Sign in to the Microsoft account associated with your PC Game Pass access.
- Open the Xbox PC experience or the installation route offered by the official Xbox game page, and search for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
- Check the listing’s current availability and the Game Pass terms shown for your location and subscription.
- Select Install, choose an SSD destination, and approve any permissions or required gaming-service components.

Use the storefront you already maintain if convenience and library organization matter most. Choose Game Pass when its current local listing confirms access and the subscription is worthwhile for your broader PC gaming use, not solely for this one title.
Prepare the installation for fewer problems
- Use an SSD: Both minimum and recommended listings require one. Installing to a hard disk does not meet the published specification.
- Reserve space: Keep more than the stated 55 GB free so the launcher can unpack files and apply updates.
- Update Windows and graphics drivers: A current 64-bit Windows installation and current GPU driver reduce avoidable launch and rendering errors.
- Close heavy background software: Browsers, recording tools, and other games can consume RAM and storage bandwidth, especially on an 8 GB system.

Troubleshooting common download and launch issues
The launcher says there is not enough space
Check the selected library drive rather than only the Windows system drive. Free additional space, select another SSD, and restart the installation. The requirement is 55 GB, but an installation can need temporary working room while files are downloaded and verified.

The PC does not meet the operating-system requirement
The minimum listing specifies 64-bit Windows 10. A 32-bit installation, an older Windows release, or an unsupported configuration does not satisfy that requirement. Verify Settings > System > About before troubleshooting the launcher.
The game launches but performance is below the target
Confirm that the game is using the dedicated GPU, close competing applications, and start with the low preset and a 1080p resolution. The store’s minimum target is 30 FPS at low settings; the 60 FPS high-settings target is tied to the recommended hardware, not the minimum tier.
The download is slow or repeatedly pauses
Check the launcher download region and network connection, pause other large downloads, and restart the client. If the progress repeatedly fails at the same point, use the launcher’s file verification or repair function, then retry with adequate free SSD space.

Confirm that you are signed into the Microsoft account holding the applicable subscription, then check the live Xbox listing for your country. A title can be listed differently by region or subscription tier, and catalog status is not guaranteed permanently.

The store page shows a different price
Store prices are regional and can change with tax, currency conversion, editions, or promotions. Use the price displayed after signing in to your own account; do not assume a figure quoted elsewhere applies to your location.
How to avoid unsafe downloads
Use only the Steam listing, Epic Games Store listing, or official Xbox/Game Pass route. Unofficial “free download” pages, cracked installers, torrent packages, and repacked executables are not legitimate access methods and can expose your system or accounts to malware. A legitimate installation should be initiated inside the corresponding client or through the official service page, with the publisher and game name matching the listing.
