Do you need an IOI Account or a code?
The reported process requires linking an IOI Account to the profile that owns the game. The skin-specific guide says existing IOI Account holders receive the Gilded SMG automatically and describes no code or challenge. IOI’s FAQ explains how to redeem codes for rewards that come with one, but does not state whether that applies to this skin. Do not assume a code is required unless IOI provides one.
If you do have a code for a different reward, IOI’s general flow is to sign in, redeem it from the account Overview, link the account that owns the game, then launch online and check Customization or Tac-Sim.

Why the Gilded SMG may not appear
-
Wrong platform profile linked: Confirm the linked account is the same one that owns and launches the game. Linking another profile may leave the entitlement unavailable.
-
Game launched offline: Connect to the internet and launch again so the game can check the linked entitlement.

Linking accounts is not a substitute for owning the game. IOI’s FAQ says the Specialist Edition is available through Amazon.com, and the PlayStation Store listing shows the PS5 game for purchase. Edition availability varies by region and date; buying the game is separate from claiming the skin.
