What Citi is forecasting for Muse
Reuters reported that Citigroup estimates Muse could bring in more than $27 billion in annual revenue by 2030. Citi’s estimate breaks down into about $23 billion from transaction-related revenue and roughly $4.5 billion from subscriptions.

Citi’s thesis is that personal AI agents could become a new interface for everyday online activity. Instead of opening separate sites or apps to research a purchase, a user might ask an assistant to search, compare options and help complete a transaction. Reuters described Muse as supporting those activities and reported that Meta sees it as central to its wider AI strategy.

Citi called personal agents an emerging “new front door to the internet,” arguing that Muse could benefit from a first-mover advantage. That is Citi’s strategic view of a possible future, not evidence that Muse has become users’ default gateway or that its early usage will translate into the forecast revenue.
What Reuters reported about Muse’s early reach
Reuters said Muse debuted on September 8 and reported figures attributed to Citigroup: more than 6.6 million cumulative downloads since launch and 1.8 million daily active users. The report does not provide an independent audit or detailed definitions of those measures. The launch date is given without a year in the report; it appeared on October 6, 2026.

Downloads and daily active users describe different things: downloads accumulate over time, while daily active users indicate activity within a day. Neither figure alone establishes retention, purchasing behavior, subscription conversion or how much revenue Muse is generating.

Who Muse is competing with
Reuters names OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude as competitors that are expanding their agent offerings. Its report does not compare their features, pricing, adoption or performance, so it does not establish that Muse leads those services—or that they are directly equivalent in what they can do.
